Definitions

  • the invention relates to a wheelchair whose chassis has a self-supporting body.
  • Wheelchairs including those which are driven by a motor, usually have a frame in which a seat is integrated and to which two drivable wheels and two freely pivotable or possibly motor-steered wheels are directly articulated.
  • the drivable wheels can be manually driven via handrims or motor.
  • a folding mechanism that allows folding of the wheelchair frame.
  • Such a wheelchair is known, for example, from EP 0 790 049 A2.
  • Wheelchairs of the type described above are particularly suitable for so-called outdoor operation, i. an operation outside closed rooms and especially on uneven roads, such as field or forest trails, rather unsuitable.
  • the described frame construction has only a relatively low stability.
  • the direct articulation of the wheels on a tubular frame only allows insufficient for uneven roads suspension, which is usually provided exclusively by appropriate pneumatic tires.
  • a wheelchair is known, the frame of which comprises a plurality of links, namely a leg-laying section, a central section for conventionally securing a seat above the frame and a battery compartment below the frame.
  • the articulation of the wheels of the wheelchair leading handlebar takes place on different elements of the frame.
  • the technical problem underlying the invention is to provide a wheelchair which has a suitable for outdoor operation stability and suitable for outdoor operation drivability and at the same time allows a dismantling that allows transport in conventional passenger cars.
  • the wheelchair according to the invention has a self-supporting body, are hinged to the handlebars for attachment of the wheels and on which a seat device can be fastened.
  • the self-supporting base body assumes the supporting function of the chassis in the small vehicle according to the invention.
  • the body has sufficient rigidity to take over this supporting function.
  • the basic body is monolithic. This means that the base body has a block-like structure, which provides sufficient strength, is relatively lightweight and has appropriate attachment points for articulation of the links and for receiving the seat assembly.
  • the main body is made of an extruded profile, wherein aluminum or aluminum alloys are possible as materials.
  • the main body can also be made of a suitable plastic.
  • the drive wheels preferably have a hub motor. This eliminates the need for a drive train from the chassis to the drive wheels. The torque is generated in the hub motor itself and the fixed part of the hub motor only needs to be supported by a suitable device on the corresponding link to ensure propulsion.
  • the batteries necessary for the power supply can be fastened to the base body, preferably also by means of corresponding quick-release devices, which allow a quick change of the accumulators.
  • Connection points for accumulators may be provided on opposite sides of the main body. It can also be provided several terminals for optional operation with one or more accumulators, which when operating with an accumulator this centered to the vehicle axle can be fastened and when operating with multiple accumulators they are symmetrically fastened to the vehicle axle.
  • the seat device of the wheelchair according to the invention preferably has a seat, a seat back and a footrest and two armrests and forms a complete unit.
  • This unit can, preferably also by means of quick-release device, attached to the body and be solved by this.
  • the seat device can be designed to be collapsible. Due to the modular design of the wheelchair, the seat can be made particularly ergonomic, so that seat shells for the severely disabled can be used.
  • the seat device can be rotatably arranged, so that at a Turning the seat 180 degrees from a rear wheel drive vehicle becomes a front wheel drive vehicle.
  • the links for receiving the freely pivotable wheels are preferably designed as spring-mounted double link. In this way it can be ensured that the wake of the freely pivotable wheels remains substantially constant over the entire travel, in particular when the freely pivotable wheels are articulated by means of a vertically extending to the ground thru axle on the handlebars. With limited travel, the front handlebars can also be designed as a single link.
  • the measures provided for receiving the drive wheels handlebar are preferably designed as trailing arms, which are supported by a spring / damper unit on the body.
  • a wheelchair of the type described above has excellent stability and allows resilient reception of the wheels, which allows operation even on uneven roads. At the same time allows the construction of this wheelchair disassembly into individual modules, which allows transport of the wheelchair in the trunk of a standard car.
  • this assembly is a sheet-like device that can be easily transported is.
  • the individual wheels and the accumulators can also be easily stowed and the seat device can be brought by a corresponding folding mechanism also in a space-saving flat shape.
  • a control panel may be provided on an armrest of the seat assembly. It is also possible to provide a wireless signal transmission from the control panel to the drive wheels, wherein in the case of using hub motors each hub motor may have a separate control unit. In this case eliminates the need for lines for control signals. With the use of accumulators, which are attached to the body, then only a power transmission to the hub motors must be provided.
  • the accumulators are also housed in the hubs of the drive wheels and a wireless signal transmission of the control commands is provided, eliminating the need for electrical lines between the chassis and wheels completely.
  • Fig. 1 shows as an embodiment of the invention, a wheelchair in perspective in a so-called exploded view, i. an exploded view.
  • a base body 10 is provided in the form of an extruded profile 11 made of an aluminum alloy.
  • the extruded profile 11 is closed at its two longitudinal ends by means of correspondingly screwed end plates 12.
  • stiffening elements (not shown) or other assemblies, such as switching devices, etc. (not shown).
  • a receiving device 14 is provided, which serves by means of a quick release device, not shown, the easily detachable attachment of a seat device 50.
  • the seat device 50 has frame profiles which, together with a covering or upholstery, not shown, a seat surface 51, a seat back 52, a footrest 53 and a strut 54 for attachment of a control panel 60 result. It is understood that armrests (not shown) can be provided on both sides.
  • the seat assembly is possible, for example, a seat and a backrest, optionally with corresponding side parts, as a self-supporting structure with corresponding connection elements to the main body or a corresponding seat frame.
  • the seat assembly is provided with a folding mechanism that allows it to be detached from the body 10 Seat assembly 50 to be folded so that it gives an easily transportable, substantially sheet-like element.
  • the rear links 30 are designed as trailing arms, which are supported on the base body 10 via a spring / damper arrangement 31.
  • the front link 20 are designed as double link, which are coupled to one another via a arranged in the interior of the body 10, not shown, spring / damper mechanism.
  • Two drive wheels 35 are hinged by means of horizontally extending stub axles 36 and not shown quick release devices on the rear arms 30.
  • Two freely pivotable front wheels 25 are articulated by means of vertically arranged thru axles 26 and also not shown quick release devices on the front arms 20.
  • the position of the axis of rotation 27 of the front wheel 25 is offset from the position of the through axle 26 in the installed state, so that there is a caster that aligns the front wheels 25 when driving straight ahead always in the direction of travel.
  • the control of the wheelchair is carried out by a separate control of the two driven rear wheels 35, wherein the drive is preferably via not shown hub motors, which are designed as electric motors, and wherein the steering commands are input via the control panel 60.
  • the designed as a double link front link 20 is designed so that over the entire available travel of the wake of the front wheel 25 remains substantially constant.
  • One or more accumulators 70 can by means of quick-release devices on the base body 10th be hung.
  • the quick-connect devices for attaching the accumulators 70 have interfaces for electrical lines which provide an electrical connection of the accumulators 70 with the hub motors.
  • a protective device in the form of a protective strap 80 may be fastened to the base body 10, preferably detachably.
  • each have a climbing aid 28 is provided at the front wheels 25 .
  • the climbing aid 28 is designed in pairs per front wheel 25 and spring loaded on both sides of each front wheel 25 is mounted so that it assumes the position shown in Fig. 6 in the normal operating condition.
  • the climbing aid 28 can be pivoted about its pivot axis 29 via a certain path in the direction of rotation of the wheel indicated by the arrow A in FIGS. 6 and 7.
  • FIGS. 6 and 7 only the front wheel 25 is shown to explain the function of the climbing aid 28 for the sake of simplicity.
  • the climbing aid 28 is initially in the predetermined by the spring force uppermost pivoting position.
  • the climbing aid 28 pivots in the direction of rotation of the front wheel 25 as a result of the driving force provided by the driving wheels.
  • the front wheel 25 is thereby raised until it comes into contact with the curb in a suitable position in that, with further forward movement, it can overcome the step given by curbside 90.
  • the direct articulation of the climbing aids 28 on the freely pivotable front wheels 25 ensures that the climbing aids 28 are always in an appropriate orientation to an obstacle, especially when it is moved obliquely to a curb or another stage. It However, it is understood that a linkage of the climbing aids is also possible directly on the body.
