Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for applying wicks of a hair product.
  • the invention is particularly suitable for the application of a hair coloring product.
  • the colors used from a bowl are intended either for a global use, called “whole head”, in which the hair is completely impregnated with the product, with a view to modifying the color of the whole, either for a more partial use, called “wicks”, where only certain parts of the hair are soaked in product, in order to obtain a once the treatment is finished, a non-homogeneous color effect, thus emphasizing this or that movement of the hair with more nuances of color lighter or darker than the natural or overall shade of the hair.
  • the wicking cap technique is particularly tedious, and presents further three major drawbacks. After fitting the hat, the hair is plated and the strands extracted through the orifices are at the chance, which can lead to a result, especially in terms of distribution wicks, which is significantly different from the expected result. Furthermore the size of the wicks extracted is proportional to the diameter of the orifices of the cap. This diameter is generally small (typically of the order of 1 mm 2 mm), this results in poor juxtaposition of the locks.
  • Such devices generally suffer from the same drawbacks, linked to the fact that they are used by attacking the hair from its side outside, i.e. on top.
  • the product is deposited mainly on the surface of the wick, and little inside, the applicator then being moved relatively to the wick, from the root to the tip.
  • Now during this movement experience shows that the user tends to lift the applicator and make it leave a trajectory parallel to the curvature of the skull.
  • a certain number of hairs detach from the applicator to fall back on the hair. This hair will therefore not be colored, in the case of a coloring product. The result obtained is therefore far from being satisfactory.
  • wick type applicator is described in US-A-3 030 968.
  • This device is a U-shaped clamp system which includes, at the end of one of the branches of the U, an open tank, and at the end of the other branch of the U, a rigid applicator which can be made of metal, glass or in plastic.
  • the lock of hair to be colored is placed inside the tank which contains coloring product, and is kept in position at using the rigid applicator which is housed in the reservoir so as to soak the wick in the liquid.
  • the assembly is then moved to the along the wick starting from the root.
  • Such an applicator requires that the tank is relatively full so that the whole wick comes immerse in the product in order to fully coat it.
  • a device for applying a hair product in locks comprising a first part comprising an open cavity capable of containing said product, the application of product on the wick being made by bringing said wick into contact with the produced inside the cavity and by relative displacement of said device by relative to said wick, the device further comprising a second part comprising a retaining member, the two parts being movable one by relative to the other, said retaining member being able to maintain said wick of hair in contact with the product inside the cavity during relative movement of said device relative to said wick, the retainer comprising a porous and / or fibrous element.
  • the porous and / or fibrous element can absorb product coming from the cavity inside the pores or between the fibers and then release it onto the wick during the relative movement of said device relative to said wick.
  • the entire wick is impregnated with product without the need to completely fill the cavity so there is little risk of product flowing out of the cavity when of the application.
  • the retaining member intended to be housed in the cavity, can be entirely made of a porous and / or fibrous material or else be made a first element covered with a layer of porous and / or fibrous material.
  • the porous and / or fibrous element is consisting of at least one block of open or semi-open cell foam, a soft sinter, or a bristle brush.
  • a foam of material chosen from the group of elastomers of propylene / ethylene copolymers; polyether blockamides; of the polyvinyls; terpolymers of ethylene, propylene and a diene (EPDM); block styrene-butadiene polymers (SBS); polymers of block styrene-ethylene-butadiene (SEBS-SIS); polyurethanes thermoplastics; mixtures of polypropylene with one of the elastomers following: styrene-ethylene-butadiene block copolymers (SEBS-SIS); terpolymers of ethylene, propylene and a diene (EPDM); copolymers of block styrene-butadiene (SBS).
  • SEBS-SIS styren
  • the retaining member defines a volume, in particular in the absence of stress exerted on it, less than the volume defined by the cavity.
  • the retaining member when the retaining member is disposed inside the cavity, it does not overflow the product out of the cavity.
  • the two parts are able to pivot about an axis, by so that the retaining member is housed inside the cavity in a first position and releases said cavity in a second position.
  • the cavity is formed at a first end of the first part, the retaining member being formed at a first end of the second part.
  • the second end of the first part and the second end of the second part form means for gripping the device. So the user can easily grab the device and rotate the two parts relative to each other so as to release the organ from retaining the cavity to introduce the wick and then to house the organ retaining inside the cavity to retain the wick.
  • the two elongated parts can be made in one piece, forming for example a device of the U-shaped clamp type, or else are produced separately.
  • each of the two ends forming the gripping means ends in the form of a ring.
  • a spring is mounted on the two parts so as to maintain the retaining member in the cavity.
  • the cavity is delimited by a wall which has a free edge defining an opening over substantially all of its cross section.
  • the first part is of main axis X, the cavity being advantageously mounted on the first part so that said cavity is eccentric with respect to the X axis.
  • a large part of the cavity is on one side of the axis. So, we can easily take product from another container, introducing most of the cavity on one side of the X axis, without being hindered by other elements of the device located in the X axis.
  • cavity is for example in the shape of a hemisphere or has a section elliptical cross.
  • the wall delimiting the cavity has at least one notch designed to receive the wick and hold it in position in the cavity while along the relative movement of said device relative to said wick.
  • the wall delimiting the cavity has two notches arranged each on the free edge of the cavity, preferably along the axis of displacement of the assembly during the application of the product.
  • the device further comprises means to, before processing a wick, isolate said wick from the rest of the hair. It is for example a hook, for example arranged so contiguous to the cavity, along the X axis of the first part.
  • thermoplastic material in particular polypropylene or polyethylene.
  • the first branch 11 has a main axis X and ends, at a first end 110, by a cavity 20.
  • the cavity 20 is delimited by a wall having a free edge 21 which defines an opening 22 over substantially all the cross section of the cavity.
  • the cavity 20 is of cross section elliptical, said section decreasing towards the bottom of the cavity.
  • the boundary wall the cavity 20 is provided on its free edge 21 with two notches 23 arranged along an axis perpendicular to the X axis. These notches 23 allow, as we will see it in more detail later, to maintain a lock of hair according to a particular position in the cavity during the application of the product of coloring.
  • the wall defining the cavity 20 is made of polypropylene and is advantageously obtained during the molding of the first branch 11.
  • the second branch 12 ends at its first end 120 with a member retainer 30.
  • the retainer consists of a foam block 31 of elliptical cross section which is fixed, for example by gluing, or by any other suitable means of attachment to a disc 32 formed in the extension of the second branch 12. Again, the disc 32 is made in polyethylene and is obtained during the molding of the second branch.
  • the block of foam has a shape such that it can be housed in the cavity 20 through of opening 22 to dip a lock of hair into the product of coloring P.
  • a block of open cell foam of low density for example a cross-linked polyurethane foam based on polyester. It is preferable to choose a foam compatible with the product of coloring to apply.
  • the second branch 12 ends, not with a simple disc, but with an element of curved shape obtained by molding in one piece with the rest of the second branch. This curved element is covered with a layer of foam.
  • the two branches can rotate around the A axis, perpendicular to the X axis of the first branch, in such a way that in a first position, the block of foam is housed in the cavity 20 and, in a second position, the block of foam releases the opening 22 from the cavity 20. In this second position, the foam block is sufficiently spaced from the opening 22 of the cavity so that the cavity can be used to take product from from another tank, like a spoon.
  • the retaining member 30 defines a volume less than volume of the cavity 20 so that when the foam block 31 is at inside the cavity, it can soak up the product without overflowing the product out of the cavity.
  • the retaining member 30 can close the opening 22 of the cavity in a substantially sealed manner, that is to say, so as to prevent the product from flowing out of the cavity during relative movement of the device relative to said wick.
  • provision may be made to cover the bottom of the cavity 20 a porous or fibrous material allowing the product to be retained in the cavity, especially when using a liquid product.
  • the product is maintained inside the cavity and can be released on a lock of hair when inserted into the cavity and held in position by the deduction 30.
  • the cavity is arranged on the first branch 11 in such a way that its opening 22 is eccentric with respect to the axis X, the retaining member 30 also being arranged eccentrically with respect to to the X axis in order to cooperate with the cavity.
  • Each of the branches 11 and 12 ends at its second end 111 and 121, by a ring 112 and 122 allowing the user to grasp the device, there again like a pair of scissors.
  • a hook 40 is disposed contiguously with the cavity 20, in the extension of branch 11.
  • the hook comprises a first elongated portion 41 formed in the X axis of the branch 11 and ends in a second portion 42 curved beyond the plane defined by the opening, on the side opposite the bottom of the cavity.
  • the hook 40 is also made of polypropylene and is obtained during the molding of the first branch 11 and cavity 20.
  • the device can be used for the application of a coloring product in the form of liquid, foam and preferably for the application of a coloring product in the form of a cream.
  • the user grasps the device 10 by means of the rings 112 and 122, in the manner a pair of scissors. First, it takes a small amount of product from coloring, keeping the foam block 31 free from the cavity 20 so use it to take the product like a spoon, like this is illustrated in Figure 3A. Once the bottom of the cavity contains product, the user plunges the foam block 31 into it in order to impregnate it, product, for example by capillarity.
  • the user can then isolate a lock of hair to be colored using the hook 40 as shown in Figure 3B.
  • the user then has the insulated drill bit in the cavity 20 and in particular in the notches 23 as shown in Figure 3C.
  • the part of the wick located between the two notches 23 is pushed into the product contained in the cavity by the block of foam which is just inserted in the cavity as shown in Figure 3D.
  • the whole device can be moved to this closed position throughout the wick, starting from the root.
  • the second embodiment shown in Figure 4 is identical to that described in accordance with Figures 1 to 3 with regard to the cavity 20 and the retaining member 30.
  • the branches 11 and 12 do not have no ring at their end 111 and 121.
  • Each branch 11 and 12 has two bent portions, 11a, 11b and respectively 12a, 12b, located on either side of the axis of rotation A.
  • the portions 11b and 12b are end respectively by the ends 111 and 121 acting as an organ gripping.
  • the portions 11b and 12b deviate from one another.
  • the portions 11b and 12b are connected to each other by a spring 14 in the manner of a rose pruner.
  • the spring 14 works in compression and is mounted on the branches so that when is in the rest position, i.e. when it is not compressed, the foam 31 is held inside the cavity 20.
  • the user brings the two ends 111 and 121 together two portions of branches 11b and 12b by compressing the spring.
  • the third embodiment shown in Figure 5 is identical to that described in accordance with Figures 1 to 3 with regard to the cavity 20 and the retaining member 30, but this time it is formed from a single piece 100 of the type of U-shaped pliers.
  • One of the free ends 101 of the branches of the U is provided with the cavity 20 and the other of the free ends 102 of the branches of the U is provided with the retaining member 30.
  • the two branches of the U pivot around an axis B this time located at the base 103 of the U. According to this mode the whole device is obtained by molding a single room.
