Description

The invention relates to a connecting device terminating, at at least one of the ends, a first set of operating rod-headrest, in particular for cremone, espagnolette-lock or the like, consisting, at the end of the operating rod, in a tongue hook defining with the latter a recess so as to make it able to extend under the adjacent end of an operating rod of a second set of rod-headrest extending the first, this latching tongue being adapted to cooperate with complementary attachment means provided at the end of this rod corresponding to the second set.

The present invention will find application in the field of building hardware and relates to lock fittings type espagnolette, espagnolette lock or the like.

In a usual manner, such a cremone, espagnolette-lock or other, including that provided adapted to take position in a recess groove formed in rebate for example of a door leaf, window or the like, generally comprises a main housing secured to a headrest housing at least one operating rod extending above and / or below said housing. This accommodates a control mechanism on which the user can act via a handle or a control button, or even a key element.

It is customary for such cremones or espagnolettes-locks, applied to an opening door, window or the like, extend over the entire height of the front post of this opening, knowing that at the height of the upper crossbar, or even of the lower cross member of said opening the free end of the maneuvering rod or rods may be able to present itself protruding to define a locking member able to cooperate with a striker arranged in correspondence at height of the upper crossbar and / or lower of the frame.

In the upper or lower angle of said front upright can be further mounted an angle gear with which cooperates the corresponding end of the headrest-rod assembly maneuver to retransmit the movement of the latter along, as the case, of the upper or lower cross member of the opening and act on complementary locking members or means for selecting different opening modes of this opening, particularly when it is of the tilt-and-turn type.

Insofar as the dimensions of the doors or windows are variable, it is obvious that the manufacturer of this type of lock fittings must have, in stock a large number of cremone or espagnolette locks differing in different lengths.

In this respect, in order to limit the number of these different models, it is already known to design these cremones or espagnolettes-locks so that their sets headrest head can be cut at their free end. However, this recutting is usually possible only over a well defined length.

In particular, the recessing of a cremone or espagnolette lock occurs in the carpenter and it should be ensured that this operation is easy to perform.

However, manipulate these cremone or espagnolette-locks, composed of the or the rods and the headrest, and the housing or housings accommodating the various control mechanisms to precisely perform this recapping operation is not easy. These cremones or espagnolettes-locks, before mounting on a carpentry, prove, moreover, relatively fragile, because of their long length, so that there is a clear risk of damaging them during a cutting, in press, of one of the ends of the headrest and the rod it houses.

To remedy, partially, these constraints and, in particular, to avoid storing and handling cremones or espagnolette locks of very great length, it is already known, in particular by FR-A-2772. 822, connecting devices for connecting the end of a headrest-headset assembly of such a espagnolette or espagnolette-lock to another assembly rod-headrest corresponding to an extension. In fact, these junction devices are, here, separate parts whose assembly at the end of each of the rods headset assembly to bind remains a binding operation for the carpenter, in particular because of the risk of error of mounting and positioning that can engender such a design.

Moreover, to the extent that, usually, the rod-headrest assembly of the espagnolette or espagnolette or espagnolette-lock and that of the extender are cut, it is difficult to adjust the length of these parts, after assembly by said junction device, at the height, for example, the amount before an opening.

In this regard, in EP-0.686-747 there is described coupling means for connecting two sections of operating rods, one of which has a toothing bordering on both sides, while the other is equipped, at its corresponding end, a U-shaped section whose bottom is parallel to the first rod, while the side walls have, on their inner side of the teeth with which are precisely able to cooperate the teeth formed at the side edges of the first rod.

In the end, such coupling means can, again, generate assembly errors may lead to lengths of cremone or espagnolette-locks poorly adjusted to the size of the profile of the joinery they come equipped. Note that in such a situation it is appropriate to deposit again this cremone or espagnolette-lock to readjust the assembly. Obviously, if it is incorrect the operation of the espagnolette or espagnolette lock is not optimal.

Document FR-A-2,556,401 also discloses a cremone or espagnolette-lock comprising at least one operating rod housed by a headrest, this assembly being capable of being adapted to a curved joinery. In this document there is more particularly described a connecting device defined by a cover plate provided adapted to extend above the two ends, placed end to end, two operating rods, knowing that this cover plate comprises, on the one hand, a positioning pin provided adapted to engage in a corresponding opening in the end of a headrest and, on the other hand, an opening for the passage of a fastening screw passing through a hole in the end of the adjacent headrest. This connecting device is also defined, at the end of one of the operating rods intended to be connected, by a tongue forming a recess so as to extend under the end of the adjacent operating rod, this tongue , carrying, in turn, a pin provided adapted to be hooked into an opening in the other operating rod.

Furthermore, in DE-195 13 837 there is described an independent cover plate likely to extend on both sides of the junction plane of two headers juxtaposed. A screw positions this plate relative to the end of one of these headers, while a stud is provided adapted to be inserted into a recess adjusted in the end of the other headrest.

Finally, the present invention relates to a junction device terminating at at least one end a headrest-driving assembly which not only facilitates the connection, end-to-end of two sets of headrest rods, one of which corresponds, for example, to a cremone or espagnolette-lock and the other to an extension, but, in addition, allows to rethink the manufacturing management of these cremones or espagnolette-locks so as to simplify and rationalize the storage, this through more standardization of the number of parts to design, parts also less bulky and easier to handle.

Thus, this connecting device according to the invention terminating, at least one of the ends, a first set of operating rod-headrest, including cremone, espagnolette-lock or the like, consists, at the end of the operating rod, in a hooking tab defining with the latter a recess so as to make it able to extend under the adjacent end of an operating rod of a second set of rod-headrest extending the first, this tongue of hooking being able to cooperate with complementary hooking means provided at the end of this rod corresponding to the second set.

As illustrated in the figures of the attached drawing, the present invention relates, more particularly, to the field of lock fittings type espagnolette or espagnolette-lock.

Thus, in Figure 1 there is shown a cremone 1 having a housing 2 provided adapted to accommodate a control mechanism on which is able to act a user, in particular through a handle or a button of ordered.

This housing 2 is attached to the rear of a headrest 3 housing, moreover, operating rods 5 extending above and below this housing 2.

In the end, these assemblies A: 5-headrests 3 are terminated, at their free end 6, by a junction device 7, according to the invention, allowing, more particularly, to extend it by a second assembly B comprising at least one operating rod 8 and a headrest 9.

This second 8-headrest ring assembly 9 may correspond, for example, to an extender.

This junction device 7 consists, on the one hand, at the free end 10 of the headrest 3 corresponding to the first set A, in a cover tongue 11 extending this headrest 3 in a plane which is parallel thereto, under this tab covering 11 being able to fit the headrest 9 of the second set B.

On the other hand, at the end of the rod 5 still corresponding to this first set A, this junction device 7 consists of a fastening tongue 12 defining with this rod 5 a recess 13 so as to make it suitable for extend under the adjacent end 14 of the rod 8 of said second set B.

In particular, this hooking tongue 12 comprises hooking means 15, more particularly in the form of a pin 16 oriented in the direction of the rod 8 of the second set B, so as to cooperate with complementary fastening means. 17 that has the end 14 of this rod 8 and which are defined, preferably by an opening 18 fitted to said pin 16.

In addition, under the cover tab 11, on the one hand, and on the latching tongue 12, on the other hand, is provided a positioning stop 20, 21 provided adapted to cooperate with the end edge 22, 23, respectively, of the headrest 9 and the rod 8 of the second assembly B, more particularly during its assembly with the first set A.

Thus, as can be seen in FIG. 4, in order to bring these two sets of head-rails A and B into cooperation, the second set B is introduced, at an angle, between the cover tongue 11 and the hooking tab 12 of the locking device. junction 7 associated with the first set A, this so as to cross the attachment means 15 defined by the pin 16.

Then, once the end edge 22 of the rod 8 brought into cooperation with the stop 21, this second set B is folded in alignment with the first A, resulting in the engagement of the pin 16 in the opening 18 at the end 14 of said rod 8.

At this moment, the headrest 9 is pushed against the abutment 20 arranged under the cover tongue 11.

Note and as particularly visible in Figures 2 to 4, said stops 20, 21 may arise from the drawing process of the ends, respectively 10, 15 of the headrest 3 and the operating rod 5 for the design of the cover tongue 11, for one, and the latching tongue 12, for the other.

In view of the foregoing description it is well understood that the second set B, at its end 24 intended to cooperate with the first set A through the junction device 7, can be intersected at will, without this operation of recutting n ' engenders any constraint at the level of the design itself, whether of the headrest 9 or the rod 8.

Simply, it will be noted that at the same time that this cutting is done, especially by means of a press, it is cut, at least in the rod 8 and a predefined dimension 25 relative to its edge. end 22, the opening 18 provided to accommodate the stud 16.

According to a preferred embodiment and more particularly in order to allow the recapping of the rod 8 and the headrest 9 at the same time and through a single pass in the cutting press, the opening 18 results from a cutting crossing in the headrest 9 and the rod 8.

Finally, it will be noted the presence, between the abutment 21 and the pin 16 on the latching tongue 12, of a recess 26 for the purpose of facilitating the assembly of the two assemblies A and B and, in particular, the engagement said pin 16 in the opening 18 of the rod 8, as is fully visible in Figure 4.

Claims (4)

1. Junction device terminating, at least at one of its ends, a first assembly (A) of operating rod (5) and face-plate (3), namely for an espagnolette, espagnolette-lock or the like, consisting, at the end of the operating rod (5), of a coupling tongue (12) defining with the latter a set-back (13) so as to make it capable of extending under the adjacent end (14) of an operating rod (8) of a second assembly (B) of rod (8) and face-plate (9) extending the first one, this coupling tongue (12) having coupling means (15) and being capable of co-operating with complementary coupling means (17) provided for at the end (14) of this rod (8) corresponding to the second assembly (B), in which the junction device also consists of:

   at the end (10) of the face-plate (3), a covering tongue (11) extending the latter in a substantially parallel plane and under which the face-plate (9) of the second assembly (B) is capable of engaging ;

   under the covering tongue (11) and on the coupling tongue (12) being provided a positioning stop (20, 21) designed capable of co-operating with the end edge (22, 23) of the face-plate (9) and the rod (8) of the second assembly (B), respectively ;

   
   characterised in that

   this covering tongue (11) and the coupling tongue (12) are made through deep-drawing the ends of the face-plate (3) and of the operating rod (5),

   between the stop (21) and the coupling means (15), on the coupling tongue (12), is provided a recess (26) designed capable of authorising the co-operation between the coupling means (15) and the complementary coupling means (17) of the rod (B) corresponding to the second assembly (B).

Junction device according to claim 1, characterised in that the coupling means (15) consist, at the level of the coupling tongue (12), on the face in front of the rod (8) of the second assembly (B), of at least one stud (16) onto which said rod (8) of the second assembly (B) is designed capable of being encased, thanks to an opening (18) with an adjusted cross-section.

Junction device according to any of claims 1 or 2, characterised in that the positioning stops (20, 21) corresponding to the covering tongue (11), on the one hand, and the coupling tongue (12), on the other hand, result from the process of deep-drawing the ends of the face-plate (3) and of the operating rod (5).
4. Junction according to claim 2, characterised in that the opening (18) in the rod (8) for receiving the stud (16) results from a cut through the face-plate (9) and said rod (8).
