Definitions
- the invention relates to a lamp with explosion protection, with at least one side open hollow body for receiving one or more lamps and at least a cover for closing an open end of the hollow body.
- Luminaires with the identification "Ex” are for use in potentially explosive atmospheres Environment provided and come for example on drilling platforms or Gas tankers for use. In the event of an explosion inside the lamp, no Escape explosion sparks to the outside.
- a tube as a hollow body is preferably on closed at both ends by covers, which in the event of an explosion Prevent explosion sparks from escaping. The construction of the covers on one or at both ends of the tube is therefore extremely demanding.
- Luminaires of the type mentioned often have to meet further requirements.
- the present case is, in particular, lights with pressure-resistant encapsulation according to the European standards EN 50014/50018 - lights of the type "E Ex d" - and preferably addressed in connection with the use of "II B" and the protection class IP67.
- in the Inside the lamp is preferably a fluorescent lamp (PL lamp) Ballast (18 watts, 230 volts, 50 hertz) provided.
- the transition between the hollow tube and the tube is particularly critical Cover.
- the tube is translucent and usually consists of another Material as the cover. Different strengths and Thermal expansion coefficients are the result. It is therefore difficult to choose between The tube and cover have a defined gap that is invariable under all conditions to provide in the explosion sparks can die.
- the idea of the invention is therefore that between the hollow body (tube) and Cover an insert is arranged. This is connected to the hollow body in such a way that no or only a negligibly small gap between insert and hollow body is available.
- coverage and use are also in terms of their Material selected so that a gap between Coverage and use is definable, the width and / or shape of which are normal environmental conditions are not changed. This allows the geometric Requirements for the required explosion protection and pressure-resistant encapsulation be created.
- the insert and the hollow body are preferably joined together by an adhesive connected.
- the adhesive is selected so that it can be used in or on the hollow body is fixed.
- the adhesive should have a certain elasticity in order to be thermal or compensate for dimensional changes of the components caused by other causes to be able to.
- the insert and the hollow body are gas-tight with one another connected, if necessary also by means of connecting means other than glue.
- the hollow body advantageously consists of plastic, for example of polycarbonate.
- plastic for example of polycarbonate.
- Other translucent plastics of high strength are possible.
- Cover and insert are preferably made of the same material. Dimensional changes due to thermal effects then have no effect.
- Cover and insert are preferably made of metal, such as steel, Stainless steel, brass, aluminum or metal alloys. Using Different materials for the two components are materials with the same or similar thermal expansion coefficient preferred.
- the gap or annular gap between the cover and the insert advantageously has a largest gap width of 0.15 mm.
- the gap width can have a different dimension have, preferably up to 0.1 mm more or less than 0.15 mm.
- the gap or annular gap between the cover and the insert advantageously has a Gap length - extension in the longitudinal direction of the lamp - from 10 to 50 mm, preferably 20 to 30 mm.
- the cover is advantageously at least partially in the manner of a socket the hollow body, as well as the preferably sleeve-shaped insert. Use and Cover therefore close the hollow body like a stopper.
- the Cover can additionally have a lid.
- a luminaire 10 in the version as E Ex d luminaire with protection class IP67 is in the Longitudinal section of FIGS. 1a and 1b can be seen.
- 1a shows the right half of the lamp, Fig. 1b the left half.
- a translucent tube 12 is made of a hollow body Polycarbonate provided. This has a length of about 60 cm, one Outside diameter of 7 cm and an inside diameter of 6.2 cm with all around and along a main longitudinal axis 14 constant wall thickness.
- a transverse plane 16 marks half the length of tube 12.
- the cylindrical tube 12 is closed at both ends by a cover 18.
- the cover 18 consists here at least of a socket inserted in the tube 12 20. This is preferably provided on the outside with a cover 22. At least that Bushing 20 is made of stainless steel here, preferably also the cover 22. Both parts are screwed together. In Fig. 1a is a central and sealed for both parts Cable entry 24 can be seen.
- the latter are only shown in FIGS. 2a and 2b on both sides of the main longitudinal axis 14 and parallel to it and connect the two Bushings 20 together.
- each bushing 20 has through bores 40, in which the tie rods 38 are inserted from one side and from the other Side screws are inserted, which are screwed into the end faces of the tie rods 38 (The screws are not shown in Figures 2a and 2b).
- An insert 42 in the manner of a is circumferential between socket 20 and tube 12 Socket or sleeve arranged.
- the insert 42 is preferably the same Material made, such as the socket 20, in particular made of stainless steel.
- the insert 42 is inserted exactly in the tube 12 and with it all around and preferably glued tight.
- Dow Corning for example, is used as the adhesive sealant 933 with associated hardener Dow Corning 993 and suitable primer.
- the connection between insert 42 and tube 12 should be firm even under high loads. volume and elasticity of the adhesive should be tolerances and thermal Compensate for dimensional changes in the interconnected components, as well age-related dimensional changes.
- the adhesive is full-surface and all around an annular gap 44 is provided between the insert 42 and the tube 12.
- the shape and dimensions of the insert 42 can be seen in FIG. 4. It is about preferably around a rotationally symmetrical body with circumferential and in Axial direction of constant wall thickness. At one axially outer end is a radially outwardly directed paragraph 46 is formed. This is due to one adjacent end face 48 of the tube 12.
- annular gap 50 is formed between the insert 42 and the socket 20.
- the annular gap 50 has a largest gap width of approximately 0.15 mm and a smallest Gap length (parallel to the main longitudinal axis 14) of 21 mm.
- the geometrical Dimensions are chosen so that in the event of an explosion inside the tube 12 Explosion flames or sparks do not escape from the lamp. All are accordingly other bushings and gaps as tight as possible.
- the mounting plate 28 is in transverse slots 58 on axially inside End faces of the bushings 20 are held or inserted, see in particular FIG. 3.
- the lamp 10 is held on a surface (a ceiling or a wall) Clamps 60. At each end of the tube 12 there is a clamp 60 which connects the tube 12 completely embraced and fixed. Only the tube 12 itself is held. cover 18 and insert 48 are not acted upon by the clamp 60.
- the specified electrical quantities can be country-specific as required Regulations are modified or adapted. Even several can Fluorescent lamps or other lamps can be provided inside the tube 12.
- another type can be provided as a hollow body, for example a body open on one side, spherical or teardrop shape. It is important to arrange the Insert 42 with a defined gap to the hollow body.
