Abstract

Bei einem Schutzschuh, Sicherheitsschuh bzw. -stiefel mit einer Zehenkappe aus Kunststoff, insbesondere einem Arbeitsschutzschuh, ist vorgesehen, dass die Zehenkappe aus einem Polycarbonatblend, insbesondere einem PC/PBT-Blend besteht.

Description

Die Erfindung richtet sich auf einen Schutzschuh, Sicherheitsschuh bzw. -stiefel mit einer Zehenkappe aus Kunststoff, insbesondere einen Arbeitsschutzschuh.
Derartige Zehenkappen für Schuhe sind bekannt aus WO 98/48999. Wie dort ausgeführt wird, gibt es bereits Zehenkappen aus thermoplastischem Kunstharz verstärkt durch synthetische, anorganische Fasern (EP-A 0 528 249), aus thermisch härtbarem Harz (GB-A 2 050 144), aus einer thermoplastischen Matrix mit Glasfasern (EP-A 0 614 623) sowie Kappen hergestellt durch Spritzgießen aus Polycarbonat (FR-A 2 525 443), aus Polypropylen oder Polyurethan (EP-A 0 617 582), aus Polyamid (FR-A 2 572 259), aus ABS (GB-A 1 284 736) sowie aus unidirektionalen Fasern in einer thermoplastischen Matrix (EP-A 0 100 181). Weiterhin sind Zehenkappen bekannt geworden, die eine Sandwichstruktur aufweisen (US-A 5,560,985).
An derartige Zehenkappen werden von den verschiedenen Normen Anforderungen hinsichtlich deren Festigkeit gestellt, beispielsweise eine Stoßfestigkeit von mindestens 200 J und eine Widerstandsfähigkeit von 15 KN.
Der Erfindung liegt hiervon ausgehend die Aufgabe zugrunde, einen Schutzschuh, Sicherheitsschuh bzw. -stiefel mit einer Kunststoff-Zehenkappe zu schaffen, der mindestens den Normanforderungen gerecht wird, diese bei kostengünstiger Herstellbarkeit aber noch übertreffen soll.
Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß als Kunststoff für die Zehenkappe ein Polycarbonatblend verwendet wird.
Vorzugsweise werden PC/ABS-Blends, PC/TPU-Blends und PC/PBT- oder PC/PET-Blends eingesetzt.
Besonders günstig ist die Verwendung eines PC/PBT-Blends. Das letztgenannte Blend wurde für Rasenmäher- und Motorsägenteile eingesetzt. Überraschenderweise wurde gefunden, daß bei Verwendung dieses Materials für eine Zehenkappe folgende Eigenschaften erzielt werden konnten:
Erfindungsgemäße Zehenkappen entsprechen den Anforderungen an Stoßund Druckfestigkeit nah DIN EN 12568 sowie nach DIN EN 12568 hinsichtlicher thermischer und chemischer Alterung.
Bei einer Stoßeinwirkung von 200 J wurden folgende Werte erzielt:
Thermische Alterung
Höhere Umgebungstemperatur + 60° C 23 bis 25 mm Resthöhe
Niedrigere Umgebungstemperatur - 20° C 26 bis 28 mm Resthöhe
Chemische Alterung
Gegen Kraftstoff 26 bis 27 mm Resthöhe
Gegen Laugen 27 bis 28 mm Resthöhe
Gegen Säuren 26 bis 27 mm Resthöhe
In keinem Fall trat ein Materialbruch auf.
Bei Messung der Druckfestigkeit 15 KN wurde eine Resthöhe von 21 mm nach zwei Tagen RT-Lagerung ermittelt.

Claims (2)

  1. Schutzschuh, Sicherheitsschuh bzw. -stiefel mit einer Zehenkappe aus Kunststoff, insbesondere Arbeitsschutzschuh, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Zehenkappe aus einem Polycarbonatblend besteht.
  2. Schutzschuh, Sicherheitsschuh bzw. -stiefel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Polycarbonatblend ein PC/ABS-Blend, ein PC/TPU-Blend, ein PC/PET-Blend oder insbesondere ein PC/PBT-Blend ist.
