Abstract
Description
The invention is directed to a protective shoe, safety shoe or -boots with a plastic toe cap, especially a work safety shoe.
A 5,560,985).Such toe caps for shoes are known from WO 98/48999. How there is already a thermoplastic toe cap Synthetic resin reinforced by synthetic, inorganic fibers (EP-A 0 528 249), from thermally curable resin (GB-A 2 050 144), from one thermoplastic matrix with glass fibers (EP-A 0 614 623) and caps made by injection molding from polycarbonate (FR-A 2 525 443), from polypropylene or polyurethane (EP-A 0 617 582), made of polyamide (FR-A 2 572 259), made of ABS (GB-A 1 284 736) and unidirectional fibers in a thermoplastic matrix (EP-A 0 100 181). There are also toe caps become known, which have a sandwich structure (US-A 5,560,985).
Such toe caps impose requirements on the various standards with regard to their strength, for example a shock resistance of at least 200 J and a resistance of 15 KN.
Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is one Protective shoe, safety shoe or boot with a plastic toe cap to create that at least meet the standard requirements is, but should still surpass this with inexpensive manufacturability.
This object is achieved in that as a plastic a polycarbonate blend is used for the toe cap.
Vorzugsweise werden PC/ABS-Blends, PC/TPU-Blends und PC/PBT- oder PC/PET-Blends eingesetzt.PC / ABS blends, PC / TPU blends and PC / PBT or are preferred PC / PET blends used.
The use of a PC / PBT blend is particularly favorable. The latter Blend was used for lawn mower and chain saw parts. Surprisingly it was found that using this material the following properties could be achieved for a toe cap:
Toe caps according to the invention meet the requirements for impact and Compressive strength close to DIN EN 12568 as well as according to DIN EN 12568 thermal and chemical aging.
In no case did material breakage occur.
When measuring the compressive strength 15 KN, a residual height of 21 mm determined after two days of RT storage.
