Definitions
- the invention relates to a control valve arrangement for Use in a fuel injector for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of claim 1. Arrangements of this Genus are z.b. from US Pat. No. 5,460,329 and US Pat. No. 5 407 131 known.
- control valve for a fuel injector, the one with a cam-operated pressure booster piston is described in US Pat. No. 5,407,131.
- the Control valve here is a poppet valve that normally, so at rest, is open and that with the help of an electromagnet can be closed. In the open state of the flows funded by a low-pressure fuel pump from the tank Fuel back through the control valve to the tank.
- the fuel injection into the combustion chamber of a diesel engine initiated by excitation of the electromagnet whose magnetic Force of the seat valve in the closed working state brings.
- the fuel in the injector which now no longer drain can, in the sequence of the cam-operated piston the pressure booster pressurized.
- When the pressure is on has reached predetermined nozzle needle opening pressure begins the injection.
- the injection is terminated by de-energizing of the electromagnet, bringing the seat valve again opens, so that the fuel can flow off again and the Pressure in the injector drops.
- JP-A-59 168 258 discloses a control valve assembly known, with a valve body that together with a valve chamber in a first section seat valve and in a second section Slide valve forms.
- the object of the present invention is a control valve arrangement to design the genus mentioned in the beginning, that the losses occurring during use are reduced are.
- valve body in the Valve chamber by means of an actuator axially displaceable Valve body two rigidly connected sections.
- a first portion of the valve body forms in one first section of the valve chamber a seat valve between Valve inlet and valve outlet, which in a rest position of Valve body closed and in a working position of the Valve body is open.
- a second section of the valve body and a second portion of the valve chamber form Gate valve, which in the rest position of the valve body a fluid connection between the valve outlet and a Return port manufactures and the fluid connection between the seat valve and the valve outlet locks and which after leaving the rest position only the return opening closes and then a fluid connection between the seat valve and the valve outlet begins to make.
- the control valve arrangement according to the invention thus forms two individual valves connected in series, one of them as Seat valve and the other designed as a slide valve is. Since the outlet of the valve assembly in the rest position of the valve body through the closed seat valve and in addition cut off from the inlet pressure by the gate valve is and communicates with the return port is the outlet is depressurized at this stage without any control fluid as a loss flows through the arrangement. Furthermore In this phase, the leakage losses remain low, due to the cumulative (consecutive) sealing effects of seat valve and slide valve. As is the seat valve naturally immediately upon leaving the rest position valve body begins to open, the space can be between this valve and the slide valve already with the inlet pressure fill, before the latter after locking the return opening the way to the outlet releases, so that the pressurization the outlet is abrupt.
- the outlet of the invention is suitable Control valve arrangement particularly good for a hydraulic Control of the injection process, in which the injection phase by transition of the valve body in the working position is initiated and the injection break through the rest position of the valve body is determined.
- the first one Section of the valve body a in the first section of the valve chamber tightly sliding control piston, at the front, which faces the seat valve, a valve inlet pressure exposed annular active surface is formed.
- One Control chamber behind a rear effective surface of the control piston is via an inlet throttle with the valve inlet and via an outlet throttle to be opened by the actuating device connected to a return port. in this connection are the flow resistances of the throttles and the size ratio between the annular active surface and the back Effective area so dimensioned that the valve body during Opening the drain throttle moved to the working position and moved when closing the outlet throttle in the rest position.
- control piston is preferred designed so that it reaches its working position sealing on the access from the control room to the outlet throttle suppressed. This ensures, in the sense of the above Task that limits the flow losses stay on the short transition phase of the control piston of the rest in the working position.
- the fuel injector 1 shown in Fig. 1 is an injector with hydraulic drive, which is essentially from the usual components Injector 2, high-pressure piston 3, pressure boosting piston 4 and a control valve assembly 5, which is an assembly with an injector 6 form.
- the injector is shown in its idle state.
- Control valve assembly 5 has a valve housing 21, in which a Valve chamber is formed, which is preferably circular cross-sectional shape has and which, in axial direction, two Has sections 41a and 41b of different diameters. In an area between the two sections 41a and 41b is the chamber diameter by an annular groove 51 in addition extended, in which a valve inlet 7 opens. At the Wall of the second chamber portion 41b opens a valve outlet 23rd
- valve body 17 In the valve chamber is axially displaceable a valve body 17, the two rigidly connected sections 17a and 17b forms, the first portion 17a itself in the first portion 41a of the valve chamber and the second Section 17b extends into the second section 41b of the valve chamber extends.
- the first valve body portion 17a has a larger diameter and forms one in the first chamber section 41a tightly sliding control piston.
- the second Valve body portion 17 b is a slider, which is connected to the wall the second chamber portion 41b of smaller diameter forms a slide valve and for this purpose with an annular groove 24 is provided.
- a preferably conical peripheral surface 50 of the valve body 17 at the transition between the control piston 17 a and Slider 17b represents the front of the control piston and forms a zone in its middle area to support a conical valve seat 18, which is formed on the conical Edge of the inlet annular groove 51 is located.
- a control chamber 10 Between the back of the control piston 17 a and the End wall 37 of the valve chamber 41 is a control chamber 10, the via a channel 9 in the control piston 17a and an inlet throttle 8 is in communication with the inlet annular groove 51. From the control room 10 leads an outlet throttle 11 via a connecting channel 12 to a return port 13. The outlet throttle 11 is at rest by a ball 14 closed by a spring 15 is pressed onto its seat 16. By arousal a solenoid 40, the spring 15 via an anchor plate 36 are withdrawn to take away clamping pressure.
- the outlet 23 is with the space 22 on the primary side of the pressure intensifier piston 4 connected.
- Fig. 2 From the rest state shown in Fig. 2 is an injection process initiated by energizing the solenoid coil 40. About the anchor plate 36, the spring 15 is withdrawn, which had closed over the ball 14, the outlet throttle 11. The pressure in the control room 10 drops to a level which by the ratio of the flow resistances of and drain throttle is determined. Front side on the control piston 17a, the full rail pressure acts on an annular surface, the one of the conical surface 50 in the region radially outside the valve seat 18 is formed.
- This ring surface is compared to Effective area at the back of the control piston 17a so dimensioned that exerted by the rail pressure on the control piston 17 a Force predominates and the latter moves to the right until one Stop surface 42 at the rear of the piston reaches the end wall 37 and at the same time blocks the outlet throttle. In this Position oszelliert the control piston 17, wherein the stop surface 42 the outlet throttle periodically opens and closes. This state is the working state shown in FIG. 4.
- FIG. 3 shows a first movement phase after Energizing the solenoid valve 40 shortly after the valve body 17 has left the rest position shown in Fig. 2.
- the control piston 17a By its movement to the right, the control piston 17a has the Valve seat 18 released.
- the control edge 19 at the annular groove 24 of the slider 17b has just the corresponding control edge reached to the housing outer wall 20 and thus the connection between the outlet 23 and the outside world (return system) interrupted.
- the other control edge 38 on the annular groove 24 is still in registration with the control edge 39 of the valve housing 21 and thus still blocks the connection between the rail pressure and the outlet 23.
- the Rail pressure now also on the radially inner continuation of the conical surface 50 of the control piston 17a.
- the end of the injection is interrupted the energization of the solenoid valve 40 initiated.
- the outlet throttle 11 is again closed by the ball 14, the Pressure in the control room 10 again reaches the level of Rail pressure, and the valve body 17 moves back in the rest position shown in Fig. 2.
- the seat valve 18, 50 closes, and the connection between the outlet 23 and the return opening 49 on the housing outer wall 20 is opened again, so that the primary space 22 above the pressure boosting piston 4 is depressurized.
- the spring 25 moves the pressure boosting piston 4 and the high-pressure piston 3 in the starting position, wherein the space 22 back over the valve outlet 23rd and the annular groove 24 emptied to the return and the secondary space 27 through the channels 28 and 29 refills with fuel.
- the Injector 2 closes by the force of the nozzle spring 35 independent.
- FIG. 5 The injector shown in Fig. 5 is, with the exception a few differences in the control valve arrangement, identical to the injector of Fig. 1. Same parts and parts of the same function are shown in FIG. 5 and in the figures 6, 7, 8 denoted by the same reference numerals as in Figures 1 to 4. To avoid repetition, be in the following only those features are described in which the second embodiment shown in Figures 5 to 8 from the first embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4 different.
- the control piston forming the valve body portion 17a has a blind bore 48, in which tightly sliding a second piston 43 is seated, which is penetrated by a channel 44 in the axial direction.
- the back of the second piston 43 is supported on the end wall 37 of the valve chamber portion 41 a, in such a way that the channel 44 is in communication with the inlet opening of the outlet throttle 11.
- the inlet throttle 8 leads into the space at the bottom of the bore 48.
- the second piston 43 surrounding annular space 47 between the rear end of the control piston 17a and the end wall 37 of the valve chamber portion 41a has a Pressure equalization connection 45 to the outside.
- control room 10 is formed through the room at the foot of the hole 48 between the floor 46 of this bore and the facing end of the second Piston 43.
- the rest position shown in FIG. 6 builds in Control chamber 10, because of the closed outlet throttle 11, over the inlet 7, the inlet annular groove 51 and the inlet throttle. 8 the rail pressure on what the control piston 17a by applying its rear effective area at the bottom 46 of the bore 48 pushes to the left and the seat valve 18, 50 is closed holds.
- the fluid flows from the control chamber 10 through the Channel 44 via the outlet throttle 11 to the return port 13, so that the pressure in the control chamber 10 decreases and the control piston 17a moves to the right, as shown in FIG.
- valve body 17 which with the corresponding areas of the valve chamber, the seat valve and the slide valve make sense in the resting position Fig. 6, in the intermediate position of FIG. 7 and in the working position according to Fig. 8 exactly as it is above for the first Embodiment described with reference to Figures 2, 3 and 4 has been.
- control piston 43 instead of in the bore of the valve body 17a also in the correspondingly large bore of Stop surface 37 are located, the channels to the inlet throttle must be guided through the valve body.
- a Control room can also be used for immediate operation of the Valve body to be taken care of, such as through physical connection with the armature of one solenoid or with another electromechanical converter.
- the use of the invention Control valve assembly not on the admission limited a pressure booster; the outlet 23 can also connected directly to the inlet channel of an injector nozzle when the rail pressure is sufficiently high becomes.
- the fluid which is the control valve assembly flows through, of course, fuel such as z. Diesel oil.
