Definitions
- the present invention relates to a rivet setting device with a rivet setting device and a drive device for generating a lifting movement of the rivet setting device, and at least one switch with which at least one from a controller of the rivet setting device processable signal depending on the stroke movement of the rivet setting device can be generated.
- Such rivet setting tools are known from the prior art.
- the German Utility model 92 14 080 describes such a rivet setting tool.
- Such rivet setting tools are used in a known manner for setting blind rivets or blind rivet nuts.
- the drive of such riveting tools can either be pneumatic or hydraulic or pneumatic-hydraulic.
- the switch and the control are part of it a counting and monitoring device. Depending on the stroke movement of the rivet setting device the switch generates a signal that is fed to the controller is processed there. The control then enters Signal to a display device showing the number of lifting movements performed of the rivet setting tool, to thereby obtain information that it enables the operator to draw conclusions about the condition of the device.
- the number of lifting movements is usually stored and on the display device shown.
- the operator can determine how much the rivet setting tool was claimed and possibly due maintenance work after reaching a predetermined Carry out the number of strokes. Recording the number of strokes also enables warranty services based on the number of strokes.
- EP 90 108 412 describes a very complex device with which an accurate Process monitoring of the rivet setting process is possible, the force at Setting the blind rivet and the path can be recorded accurately using strain gauges. However, this requires large and heavy sensors. In addition, the evaluation electronics so complex that they have a separate control cabinet z. B PC or PLC required and is not suitable for use in a hand-held rivet setting tool.
- the object of the invention is therefore to a rivet setting tool of the type mentioned improve by making it possible to draw more precise conclusions about the wear of the rivet setting tool allow and on the other hand only a low circuit complexity is required, which allows it to be accommodated in a hand-held rivet setting tool to become.
- a rivet setting tool of the type mentioned Type in which a magnet is provided and with the drive device at Carrying out the lifting movement a relative movement between the switch and the magnet can be generated to operate the switch.
- a particularly simple rivet setting tool can be realized if the magnet with the Drive device is coupled.
- the magnet is movable in a housing of the rivet setting tool and the switch is arranged fixed to the housing. Because the switch usually has a cable, it is easier to implement, the magnet can be moved to arrange.
- a particularly simple construction of the rivet setting tool results when the drive device has a piston-cylinder unit.
- the magnet either with the piston or the piston rod of the piston is movable. As a result, there are no additional devices or gear required to move the magnet. Besides, can the magnet can be integrated into the drive unit in a very space-saving manner. Furthermore can the speed of the piston and thus the stroke movement can be recorded very precisely
- the drive device is pneumatic, hydraulic, hydraulic-pneumatic, electric or electric-hydraulic is operable.
- pneumatic drive units there can be large differences in speed of the piston between the empty stroke and the working stroke.
- the magnet can be ring-shaped. Thereby the magnet can be aligned symmetrically to the piston or piston rod, so that the piston does not have to be attached in a rotationally fixed manner. It can prove to be prove favorable if the magnet surrounds the piston rod. Then the magnet can be guided simultaneously through the piston rod.
- the switch on or is arranged close to the cylinder of the piston-cylinder unit it can prove to be advantageous if the switch on or is arranged close to the cylinder of the piston-cylinder unit. It can also the magnet can be chosen comparatively small. By attaching the magnet inside the piston-cylinder unit, the magnet is protected from environmental influences. In addition, the rivet setting tool can be made very compact. Compared to conventional ones The magnet does not require any additional installation space and rivet setting tools can be integrated into the piston-cylinder unit of conventional rivet setting tools.
- a particularly precise detection of the piston speed is possible if the Switch is arranged about half the length of the piston-cylinder unit. Then the speed of the piston can be determined with just a single switch, since it is guided past the switch twice during a stroke and thus two times spaced signals can be generated.
- the switch is a magnetically actuated switch, preferably a reed switch is.
- Such switches are particularly inexpensive and reliable.
- the piston is non-rotatably arranged in the piston-cylinder unit, a comparatively small magnet can be used. The piston must be turned then no longer be considered.
- two can be in the longitudinal direction of the piston from each other spaced magnets may be provided. Doing so with less Switches also determine the speed of the piston.
- the magnets can be arranged in a particularly space-saving manner if they are on both sides of the piston are attached.
- a switch can be arranged near the piston in its end position. Then it can be determined whether the piston has been completely lifted.
- the controller can have a memory have, with which the number of riveting processes can be stored.
- FIG. 1 shows the rivet setting tool 1 according to the invention in a sectional side view.
- the rivet setting device 1 has a housing 2 in which a rivet setting device 3 and a drive device 4 are included.
- the rivet setting device is of conventional design and is therefore only briefly explained. It has a mouthpiece 5, which is in an essentially cylindrical rivet setting housing 6 is screwed in. In the rivet housing 6 is axially displaceable Rivet setting piston 7 arranged at its end facing the mouthpiece 5 Has clamping jaws 8 for holding a rivet pin, not shown. The jaws are biased by a spring 9 in a known manner in the closed position.
- the rivet setting piston 7 On the side facing away from the mouthpiece 5 is the rivet setting piston 7 with a hydraulic piston 10 of a hydraulically operated piston-cylinder unit 11 firmly connected.
- the hydraulic piston 10 is inside a hydraulic cylinder 12 of the piston-cylinder unit axially displaceable, the hydraulic cylinder 12 coaxial to Rivet setting piston 7 is arranged.
- Two compression springs 13 tension the hydraulic piston 10 to the left in the illustration in FIG. 1.
- Hydraulic reservoir 15 has a cylindrical section 16 into which a piston rod 17 of a piston 18 of a piston-cylinder unit 19 protrudes.
- the piston rod 17 is guided axially displaceably in the cylindrical section 16 and by means of Seals 20 sealed.
- the piston-cylinder unit 19 also has a cylinder 21 in which the piston 18 is guided axially displaceably and via seals 22 is sealed.
- the piston-cylinder unit 11 and the piston-cylinder unit 19 together form the drive device 4 of the rivet setting device, the piston-cylinder unit 11 is operated hydraulically by in the hydraulic reservoir 15 and Hydraulic chamber 14 arranged hydraulic fluid is driven.
- the piston-cylinder unit 19 is driven pneumatically, the required Compressed air via a valve 23 and compressed air lines 24 an opening 25 in Bottom of the cylinder 21 is supplied.
- a hose connection 26 enables the supply with compressed air.
- the valve 23 can be operated via an actuating button 27 against the biasing force of a spring 28 actuated via a plunger 29 and a roller 30 attached to the actuation key 27 become.
- the valve 23 is actuated in a known manner. If the pestle 29 is depressed by the roller 30, the valve opens and passes compressed air the opening 25 in the cylinder 21st
- the cylinder 21 On the side facing away from the floor, the cylinder 21 has an opening 31, through which excess air can escape.
- An annular magnet 32 is fixedly attached to the piston 18. On the outside of the There is a reed switch 33 in the cylinder. There is also a circuit board on cylinder 21 34 attached, on which a controller 35, a power source 36, such as. B. a battery and a display device 37. Control, power source and display device 37, e.g. B. an LCD display are in the usual way with each other and with the Reed switch connected by cable.
- a blind rivet is inserted into the mouthpiece 5 in a known manner, the mandrel protrudes into the mouthpiece and the jaws 8.
- the jaws By inserting the rivet mandrel the jaws against the bias of the springs 9 in known Pressed apart and thereby seize the mandrel.
- the operator actuates the hand-held rivet setting tool with the actuation key 27, the actuation key 27 countering in a known manner the bias of the spring 28 is pressed into the housing.
- the presses Roller 30 the plunger 29 down, whereby the valve 23 opens and compressed air from the Hose connection 26, or from a compressed air source and line 24 into the valve flows and from there on via the second line 24 into the opening 25, whereby the compressed air gets into the cylinder 21.
- the magnet 32 Since the magnet 32 is fixedly connected to the piston 18, the magnet will be carried out a rivet setting process together with the piston.
- the Magnet past the switch 33, a reed contact. Because of the magnetic forces of the magnet, the switch is closed, so that the controller sends a signal receives information about the location of the piston.
- the control is able to determine whether a rivet setting process was carried out.
- the number of signals is to be divided by two, since the piston with the magnet twice during a rivet setting process Switch is passed. If the number of signals is divided by two, get one the number of strokes.
- the control can be programmed accordingly not to count empty strokes. If the magnet as shown in Figure 3 has a predetermined thickness, there is also the possibility of determining the duration, the switch is closed when the magnet is moved past it. This results in an additional variable with which it is possible to determine with what speed the piston is moving. At a great speed it is an idle stroke. The piston moves during working strokes significantly slower due to the application of the tensile forces for setting the rivet. In the simplest embodiment, the thickness of the magnet is dimensioned such that only brief pulses are triggered via the switch.
- the other embodiments only differ from the first embodiment by the design and number of magnets and the number of switches. It will therefore schematically only the piston-cylinder unit 19 as shown shown in Figure 2.
- the second embodiment differs from the first embodiment by the attachment of two magnets as shown in Figure 4 of substantially the same Dimensions that are arranged one behind the other. This results in a predetermined one Length L of the magnet. Due to the greater length compared to the first embodiment L the switch remains closed longer at the same piston speed. The length L is dimensioned so that the switch for a period that can be easily detected remains closed. On the basis of this period of time, the speed can then be measured immediately of the piston can be determined.
- the third embodiment also has two magnets 32, one of which Magnet on the top of the piston and the other magnet on the bottom of the Piston is arranged. This allows a longer length L with only two magnets of the magnet. Otherwise, the same effects occur as with the second embodiment.
- the fourth embodiment shown in FIG. 5 in turn has only one magnet 32.
- a second switch is provided which is at a distance L from first switch is spaced.
- the fifth embodiment shown in FIG. 6 additionally contains another one Switches, a total of three switches. With three switches it is also possible to determine whether the piston is an accelerated movement or a decelerating movement performs. When the piston with the magnet and the three switches moves past three impulses are obtained that are spaced apart in time. by virtue of the known distances L1 and L2 between the switches, it is possible to determine whether the piston is accelerating or decelerating. simultaneously can be determined whether there is an idle stroke. The speeds are at an idle stroke substantially the same along lengths L1 and L2. Is the speed between the lower the middle switch larger than between the upper and middle contact, a rivet is drawn and has not yet been torn off. Is the speed between the top contact and the middle contact The rivet pin is torn larger than between the lower contact and the middle contact and the piston accelerates after the mandrel breaks. In this case a working stroke has also been carried out.
- the sixth embodiment shown in Figure 7 has a further switch close to the starting position of the piston 18. Since in rivet setting tools with a hydraulic Piston-cylinder unit and a pneumatic piston-cylinder unit frequently Oil loss occurs in the hydraulic part, the piston 18 arrives after prolonged operation no longer return to its original position. This can be done with the fourth Switches are detected. When the piston is no longer far enough to its original position returns, a signal is output or processed by the control, so that the operator can be informed that oil leakage has occurred. additionally there is a further measuring section through the fourth switch. Through the Now the three existing measuring sections L1, L2 andL3 can make a statement about the Uniformity of movement of the piston can be taken.
- the control used is a conventional control with a microprocessor including EPROM / ROM / RAM. However, it can also be a freely programmable controller or a permanently preprogrammed controller. In any case, sufficient memory must be provided in order to store corresponding comparison values for the different measuring sections to be queried and to enable comparisons.
- the corresponding text messages may also need to be saved in different languages.
- other display devices can be provided, such as. B. a device for emitting a signal or a light emitting diode. By counting work and empty strokes, it is possible when a certain number of work and empty strokes are reached, corresponding maintenance messages such as. B. Clean jaws, change jaws, add oil, change oil, replace sealing system, etc. to enter and display.
- the controller can be provided with an interface that makes it possible makes device data with a first step, e.g. B. Date of purchase, serial number, the read out the number of strokes performed. It can also be useful for checking to check the history and warranty acceptance of the device to what extent the device at too high pressure, too low pressure or how often it is too high load has been suspended. Such data can both be read in via an interface can also be read out.
