Definitions
- the invention relates to a television tube with a screen and a Funnel.
- the front surface of the screen facing the viewer is in the essentially rectangular.
- Such television tubes work according to the cathode ray principle.
- the mentioned glass parts screen and funnel enclose an evacuated Room.
- the television tube also includes parts that are used for image generation, especially an electron beam gun, an electron beam deflector, a shield image and a mask.
- the border of the picture surface that is to say the front surface of the Screen, is only approximately rectangular, sometimes even approximately square.
- the side edges have an outwardly convex Curvature on. There are therefore three for the approximately rectangular screen Radii: A smaller radius at one of the four corners, one clearly larger radius of the two narrow edges and an even larger radius on the two longitudinal edges.
- the contour of the screen remains on its side flanks are preserved and continued in the funnel. This applies to everyone Types, sizes, formats and for every known image surface contour design.
- the deviation of the contour of the front surface of the screen is due to the Strength requirements conditional.
- the walls of the glass parts be dimensioned accordingly to withstand this negative pressure. If this does not happen, there is a risk of implosion, which is considerable Risks for the user.
- the strength of hollow bodies against internal or external forces is known to be the case with the spherical shape biggest.
- the mentioned deviation of the contour of the front surface of the Screen of the pure rectangle, and thus the design of the Edge surfaces of the television tube is therefore chosen to be at a Given the minimum wall thickness of the glass parts to the necessary strength achieve. It goes without saying that the aim is to have the smallest possible wall thicknesses, the weight of the television tube and also its external dimensions to keep it as small as possible.
- the invention has for its object a television tube of the above Type in such a way that their weight and their Have the outer dimensions reduced further.
- the inventor has recognized that the transition from the approximate Rectangular shape to pure rectangular shape the vacuum resistance of the television tube by no means reduced, but that the vacuum strength is the same as ever since, or even bigger.
- the edges of the front surface of the Screen is not strictly straightforward, and accordingly The front surface should also not be strictly rectangular or square.
- the contour of the Connection area of the funnel is thus also according to the invention designed such that at least one of its four edges is at least approximately runs straight.
- the weight of the screen can be by up to 5 percent. The same applies to the weight of the funnel.
- the overall dimensions of the television tube are also becoming smaller.
- the Housing that surrounds the television tube may be due to the flatness of the Flank areas become smaller.
- the invention brings about a tendency to solve the problem Task if only one of the edges of the front surface of the screen is straight or is largely straightforward. A greater impact is achieved when two opposite edges are rectilinear or approximately rectilinear. The optimal effect is achieved, however, if the invention in all four edges is applied.
- the television tube shown in Figure 1 has a screen 1 and a Funnel 2. It is said to focus on the electronic and electrical details not be discussed further.
- the two parts mentioned screen 1 and funnel 2 are along one Level 3, which is perpendicular to axis 4 of the television tube, put together.
- the screen 1 has a front surface 1.1, further flank surfaces, from which here only have the two flank surfaces 1.2 opposite one another, 1.4 can be seen.
- Figure 2 shows the front surface of a television tube according to the invention. How one sees, the front surface is designed as a geometric rectangle, formed from edges 1.10, 1.11, 1.12 and 1.13. At the four corners one can Radius of curvature. However, this is not absolutely the case.
- the shape of a pure rectangle according to the invention is surrounded by the Shape of an approximate rectangle, as well as this with a conventional one TV tube is present - shown in dashed lines. You can see the four edges 1.10 ', 1.11', 1.12 'and 1.13'. The edges mentioned have an approximation circular course.
- the front surface of the screen 1 is of the called shape.
- This contour can also move towards the neck 2.1 continue funnel 2.
- the screen can thus - in one to axis 4 vertical cut in the area of the flank surfaces - also the have shape according to the invention.
- the shape according to the invention can then extend beyond the parting plane 3 continue towards the neck 2.1 of the funnel 2, so that the Funnel - again seen in a section perpendicular to the image axis 4 has shape according to the invention, at least on part of it Longitudinal extension.
- the outer contour of the screen 1 can be seen more precisely from FIG as well as the outer contour of the funnel 2 in the area of the parting plane 3. How to sees, the front surface 1.1 of the screen 1 is completely flat.
- the flank surface 1.2 is made up of a sub-area 1.2.1 and a sub-area 1.2.2. Both Areas are in layers. There is a kink at point 1.2.3.
- the inside surface of the screen has a so-called assignment 5 provided that has no direct meaning for the invention.
