Definitions

  • Light or lighting device in particular for motor vehicles
  • the invention relates to a light or lighting device, in particular for motor vehicles, with a light source and a light exit surface or plane, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the basic design of an illumination device according to the reflection type is that it is surrounded by a parabolic reflector at the foot of the burning or light source.
  • a holding device which is usually provided with a lens, is arranged in front of the reflector, i.e. in the half space into which the light is emitted.
  • An attempt is made to decouple the light uniformly from the reflector zone and to bring it onto the lens system.
  • Further known variants consist in providing a cylinder-shaped jacket between the reflector and lens, which captures stray light. It is essential that the headlight projection lens in known headlights or lighting devices collect all the available light and throw it forward.
  • the light-emitting surface or the light exit surface or light exit plane is given by the outer surface of the headlight lens.
  • a vehicle headlight has the task of ensuring illumination of the roadway in the dark, in particular in the direction of travel, and at the same time of displaying the signal image for oncoming vehicles for an approaching vehicle.
  • multiple headlight arrangements are known in the prior art, in which care is taken to focus the light as well as possible. This in turn shows multiple disadvantages.
  • the forward-facing space in front of the vehicle is well illuminated in the dark for the driver, but the amount of light or light energy used to illuminate is also that which represents the signal image. This means that a well-illuminating headlamp dazzles oncoming traffic in most cases. For this reason, headlight arrangements for avoiding glare effects are known in the prior art.

  • the foregoing luminous flux distribution as such is in the foreground, overall the headlight throws the entire amount of light forward.

  • the light beam is divided overall into segments. This only leads to a fanning out of the actual light cone. Avoiding glare is also not guaranteed here.
  • the present invention is based on the object of further developing a light or lighting device, in particular for motor vehicles of the generic type, in such a way that the signal image function of the device is glare-free while maintaining optimum illumination of the roadway.
  • the object is achieved in a light or lighting device, in particular for motor vehicles, according to the preamble of patent claim 1, according to the invention in that the light exit plane consists of a part of the available light output of the light source, which allows the central source to pass almost unattenuated, as well as a said central region there is a ring-shaped surrounding outer area, which only allows the other part of the light output available to be weakened.
