Definitions
- the invention relates to an ironing board, with an elongated Support part, which enables the parts to be ironed to be placed on Has contact surface and the back End section is made wider than its front end section, by having a nonlinear on at least one long side Has edge course.
- An ironing table of this type comes from the US 3,739,507. There it has an elongated support part for the parts to be ironed, the one on the back End section of greater width and a related narrower front end section.
- the support part tapers towards the front by its a non-linear edge curve on both long sides have.
- the support part on at least one long side such a graded edge course has one between those assigned to the end sections end edge sections lying transition edge section is defined with the longitudinal axis of the support part encloses a larger angle than the two end edge sections.
- an ironing board on at least one long side over more than two in terms of the course of each other has different edge sections and therefore the possibility there is, the support part on both sides of the transition edge section with different widths as required.
- the rear end section be kept relatively wide in the usual way to iron to enable large items of laundry and possibly also in the area of the rear, transverse edge section to provide a shoulder or back fit, the ironing of the appropriate areas of shirts or blouses simplified.
- the front end section can have a narrower shape, preferably with a width that is larger than that of conventional sleeve boards, however still sufficiently low to pull over trouser legs to be ironed or other items of laundry with appropriate Allow problem areas.
- an ironing board can be realized without special additional equipment also for ironing elongated, hose-like closed items of laundry is suitable, but however, the option remains, an additional sleeve board to provide.
- the steepness of the gradation and the transitions of the edge sections can be varied depending on the application. That would be for example an at least approximately right-angled gradation possible, in which the transition edge section approximately in runs at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the support part. Out From the current point of view, however, the transitional edge section is sloping preferred, expediently with a Tilt angle to the longitudinal axis in the range between 25 ° and 45 °.
- transition edge section and the itself subsequent edge sections are expediently arch-like, in particular, only slightly curved curves be provided so that there is an overall curved Set the transition between the individual edge sections can.
- the transition edge section does not necessarily have to be be provided with a linear area, it could also by two directly adjoining on the one hand concave and on the other hand convex curved areas be defined.
- the support part is available over at least most of the length of his back and / or its front end section via at least one approximately constant width.
- Support part on only one of its long sides the mentioned graded Has edge course and on the other long side is provided with a linear edge course that is parallel can extend to the longitudinal axis of the support part.
- the transition edge section upstream free space next to the front end portion of the Resting part sets which can be used for a storage part to place for an iron and / or a sleeve board.
- These parts can thus be arranged in a way the maximum width of the support part is not or at least only slightly overlooked.
- a holding device projecting the area of the free space is provided be, in particular, from a component of an installation device is formed, which is at the bottom of the Support part is and the erection of the ironing board enabled on site.
- Such set-up devices are usually designed to be foldable.
- Ironing board has an elongated, board or plate-like support part 1, which in Figure 1 in a Top view is shown. In the for ironing laundry items in the position of use, the support part is aligned so that its plane of expansion extends horizontally, as can be seen from Figure 2.
- the support part 1 is preferably made of metal and can have a variety of breakthroughs that one Allow water vapor to pass. Because of one in particular these are made of textile material Openings are not visible in the drawing.
- the one pointing upwards in the use position of the ironing board Surface of the support part 1 forms a support surface 2, on the parts to be ironed, such as clothing or other textile products can be placed, around them with an iron indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG 3 to edit.
- Support part 1 On the opposite side of the support surface 2 Support part 1 is one for setting up the ironing board on Installation site serving installation 4 attached in Figure 2 is shown only its upper area.
- This support structure 6 can in particular contain one or more guide rails 7, which extend parallel to the longitudinal axis 8 of the support part 1 and on which one of the legs 5 is mounted is to fold and unfold to provide the required degree of freedom.
- the support part 1 can be mentally in the embodiment in a wider back End portion 12, one narrower than this front end portion 13 and an intermediate Divide transition section 14. This design results from the fact that the support part 1 on a first (15) of its both long sides via a non-linear graded Edge course.
- the edge course on the opposite second long side 16 is at least in the embodiment approximately and preferably exactly linear and follows the Longitudinal axis 8 expediently with a parallel distance.
- the support part 1 is in the area of the first Long side 15 into a rear end section 12 assigned rear end edge portion 17, the front end portion 13 associated front end Edge portion 18 and an extending therebetween Transition section 14 assigned transition section 19 divided.
- the arrangement is such that the dated Transitional edge section 19 and enclosed by the longitudinal axis 8 Angle 22 is larger than each of the two angles, among which the rear and front end edge portions 17, 18 to the longitudinal axis 8.
- the two ends extend Edge sections 17, 18 parallel to the longitudinal axis 8, which in Connection with the also parallel edge course of the second Long side 16 leads to the two end sections 12, 13 of the support part 1, apart from the rounded end areas 23, 24, have a constant width.
- the width is reduced of the support part 1 gradually starting from the width of the rear end edge portion 17 to the width of the front end edge portion 18.
- the latter is at Embodiment chosen so that it is about the width of a usual trouser leg corresponds, while the width of the back End section 12 corresponds approximately to hem pressure width.
- the edge course of the second longitudinal side 16 can also be graduated be, but not necessarily the same gradation as provided on the first long side 15 got to. It is also possible with a linear edge course the second long side 16 is one with respect to the long axis 8 provide a slightly inclined course so that it faces the front sets an approximation to the longitudinal axis 8.
- the support part can be lengthwise in Divide zones of different widths, in particular the front end portion 13 has a relatively narrow shape can, so that at least pants legs for comfortable ironing let put on.
- the wider back end section 12 is still for ironing large items of laundry suitable.
- the transition edge section runs 19 obliquely to the longitudinal axis 8 of the support part 1, approaches the edge of the second towards the front Longitudinal side 16.
- the one enclosed with the longitudinal axis 8 Angle 22 is approximately 30 ° and is preferably in the range chosen between 25 and 45 °.
- the kinks 25, 26 between the transition edge section 19 and on the one hand the rear end edge portion 17 and on the other hand the front end edge portion 18 are preferably weak curved curves executed so that the individual edge sections merge gently into each other and distracting corners and Edges are avoided.
- the transition edge section 19 consist exclusively of curved edge sections composed, the arcuate kinks 25, 26 in Shape of successive convex and concave areas merge directly into one another in a curved manner.
- a modified gradation is indicated at dash-dotted lines at 27, at which the angle between the transition edge section 19 and the longitudinal axis 8 at least approximately a right one Angle is so that the axial length of the actual Transitional section of the support part 1 to approximately zero reduced by practically the narrow front end section 13 directly to the wider rear end portion 12 connects.
- Edge sections 17, 18 could also be at least one of these end edge sections over an oblique course have so that it faces the front of the support part 1 towards the opposite second long side 16.
- the difference in width is between the two end sections 12, 13 so large that the transition edge section 19 to the front of the Support part 1 upstream and laterally next to the front End section 13 sets free space 28.
- a shutdown an iron that is not currently in use 3 enabling storage part 32 to be placed in a favorable manner. From Figure 1 it can be seen how the storage part 32 in Area of the free space 28 is arranged, expediently such that it is within the forward imaginary linear extension of the posterior end Edge section 17 comes to rest.
- the shelf can easily at least partially upwards and / or below over the relevant surface of the support part 1 protrude, especially from the design of the storage part 32 will depend.
- Holding device 33 While it is in the embodiment rigidly on a protruding into the area of the free space 28 Holding device 33 is attached, it can also be pivotally mounted, and in particular also in one Way that it can be pivoted away over the bearing surface 2 and is in positions above the contact surface 2 can be positioned.
- the holding device 33 is in the embodiment of one Part of the installation device 4 and in particular the support structure 6 is formed, it is expedient are an end section of one of the guide rails 7 can, which is below the support part 1 in the area of the free space 28 protrudes.
- pivotable storage part 32 Expediently provided that it is shown as needed in the Position can be placed in the top view seen on the support surface 2, in the area of the free space 28 is located.
- This position can be a basic position be, which is particularly adjustable even when the Ironing board is transported.
- the front end section 13 could in principle be made so narrow be that he can also use himself as a sleeve board lets, for example, ironing shirt sleeves.
- the design according to the invention offers the advantageous one Possibility of an additional, dash-dotted in Figure 1 to place the indicated sleeve board 34 in the free space 28, so that the ironing surface provided on its surface 35 at least approximately at the same level with the contact surface 2 runs.
- This sleeve board 34 can be in favor of one high stability to be firmly connected to the support part 1, by being in a corresponding manner on the holding device mentioned 33 is attached.
- the ironing board can easily be used with both a shelf 32 and be provided with a sleeve board 34, wherein both parts movable and in particular pivotable as required or can be rigidly attached.
