- the invention relates to a channel-shaped connecting part for connecting two Gutters, which on one side edge at least one integrated, on a gutter edge having attachable clamping device to the connecting part on the outside tightly against the To attach gutters.
- the invention further relates to a with the connecting part created gutter connection.
- gutters in the plumbing industry are mounted overlapping.
- the Overlap is z. B. 50 mm and is secured with multiple rivets. Subsequently The joint is soldered on the inside of the groove to create a robust and tight connection.
- AU-A-34,265 / 68 discloses a connection for abutting ends of gutters, which can be done without soldering and without the use of rivets.
- the Connecting element consists of a metal element and is covered with a sealant added, which is applied to the ends of the gutters.
- a sealant added which is applied to the ends of the gutters.
- Metal element provided with inwardly curved flanges, which the Include gutter edges firmly. The metal element is after applying the Sealant pushed from below over the gutters. Once the flanges the Gutter edges have passed, they spring back and hold the metal element to the Gutters.
- the flanges may include tongues which After making the connection can be bent over the gutter edges.
- DE-A-2 324 247 shows a likewise solderless connector having two gutter ends connects with each other.
- the connector includes one on the outer periphery of the gutter ends arranged support bracket and a cooperating device. With those Embodiments of the connector, which are attachable to the gutters on the outside, engages the support bracket the respective gutter trailing edge and gutter bead, and the Device for pressing is formed by at least two screws, which on a gutter lower edge act.
- the support clamp is firmly attached to the outside of the gutters pressed, resulting in an improved seal.
- a connector is expensive, for example, thread for the Screws are cut.
- the screws and threads are also susceptible to corrosion.
- the object of the invention is to provide a channel connection, which mentioned Disadvantages avoids, is robust and easy to manufacture and easy and quick to install can be.
- the clamping device comprises a toggle lever system. This is going through Stretched sheet metal deformation, wherein the connecting part used on the gutters or is pressed. It has the advantage that by appropriate dimensioning a large Power transmission ratio can be achieved.
- the connecting part encloses the ends of the gutters on the outside flush.
- the two Side edges of the connecting part are fastened in the region of the gutter edges such that an arranged between the connecting part and the gutter outer side sealing element the (convex) outside of the gutters is pressed.
- the invention not only works without soldering, but also allows undisturbed Water flow across the connection.
- the grooves also do not need overlapping to be connected, but can connect directly with your front pages.
- a fork is provided for placing the Tensioning device on the gutter edge.
- the fork is z. B. by spreading apart Tabs formed.
- the clamping device can also be welded or be soldered or riveted metal part be provided, which in the manner of a rider can be placed on the edge of the gutter.
- the connecting part may have a hook on a second side edge, so that he hangs on the aforementioned second edge without the help of tools and afterwards can be stretched.
- the connecting part with one end be fastened by rivets in the region of the gutter edge.
- the connecting part has a protruding portion (tab) which is narrow bent around the gutter edges. Should it be used in special cases (eg in In connection with repairs) to be soldered, nothing stands in the way.
- the connecting part has on one side a hook-shaped or cylindrical Anformung, so that these in the assembly in a suitably trained bead of the gutter edge can be hung.
- the formation can by a cross-section z. B. bent half or three-quarter circular Edge formed, which is reinforced if necessary (eg execution in duplicate Material thickness). Between the bent sheet metal part and the to the gutter shape adapted part of the sheet, a narrow slit is formed, in which the Gutter edge can be introduced.
- two tensioners are provided. Between them can one or a plurality of tabs may be formed. The tabs are after clamping around the Side edge of the gutters folded inside.
- the sealing member which is to be arranged on the inside of the connecting part, is z. B. formed by a large-area rubber insert.
- the sealing element is glued to the connecting part.
- the sealing element transverse to the longitudinal axis of the Gaps running sealing lips provided. They are e.g. by 1 - 2 mm before and have a mutual distance of z. B. several millimeters. When mounting the Connecting parts, these sealing lips are pressed to the outside of the gutters and compressed. By providing a plurality of such sealing lips are built several barriers against the leakage of water.
- any channels can be connected to the connecting part according to the invention become. In principle, it is a connection by clamping action. (The Clamping force, with which the connecting part is pressed against the gutters, will - as already explained above - generated by the clamping device.)
- the connecting part can made of any suitable material. For aesthetic reasons will be the same Material used as for the gutter (eg copper, aluminum, non-rusting metals Etc.).
- a sheet metal part of the clamping device to bent inward around the side edge of the gutters. But it can also rivets be attached.
- a dilation connection can also be created with the connection part according to the invention become.
- the connector is typically longer in this case than a connector ordinary solid connection.
- the dilatation movements of the gutters are by the Clamping connection, which is formed between the connecting part and the grooves, added.
- the longitudinally rigid parts are due to the existing but limited sliding action in the clamping connection relative to each other.
- Dilatation is preferably the joint inside between the gutters with a sheet metal strip adapted to the channel cross-section, so that the sealing element is also protected against UV light when the joint dilation caused opens.
- Fig. 1a shows an example of a connecting part according to the invention 1. This consists in essentially from a cut and shaped piece of sheet metal 2 and at least a sealing element 3.
- the sheet metal piece 2 is according to the cross-sectional shape of preformed to be connected grooves. In the present example is of a semi-cylindrical Form gone out.
- the sheet metal piece 2 to form a suspension 7 is cylindrical bent over to the outside.
- the bent part ends at a certain distance to the outside of the connecting part, so that a longitudinal slot 8 for the hook 7 is formed becomes.
- the sheet which typically has the same thickness as the gutters to be connected
- double-layered for increased stability to ensure.
- the sealing element 3 is e.g. a glued to the inside of the sheet metal piece 2 Rubber mat. As can be seen from Fig. 1a, the sealing element 3 covers the inside of the sheet metal piece 2 from a large area.
- the end portions 9.1, 9.2 of the connecting part 1 are preferably free from the sealing element 3. Consequently, they can easily be turned inwards (i.e. Be longitudinal axis of the connecting part 1) bent so that a gradation accordingly is formed approximately the thickness of the sealing element 3. This grading covers at the finished groove connection, the sealing element 3 in the axial direction (see Fig. 2).
- sealing lips 3.1 to 3.5 educated on the surface of the sealing element 3 .
- These are strip-shaped lamellae which are transverse to the longitudinal axis of the Run connecting part 1. They extend from one side of the sealing element 3 to the other and can against a (perpendicular to the longitudinal axis) mirror symmetry plane be inclined towards (see Fig. 1 b). In this way it can be achieved that they can nestle close to the outside of the gutters to be connected.
- the sealing lips 3.1 to 3.5 at regular intervals parallel to each other be arranged.
- a central region of the sealing element 3 is preferably free from Sealing lips.
- the sealing element is provided with an adhesive layer 26 on the sheet metal piece 2 appropriate.
- Fig. 2 shows a schematic perspective view of the channel connection.
- the Connecting part 1 encloses the two at the joint 12 end-to-end abutting Troughs 10, 11. Between the sheet metal piece 2 and the outside of the grooves 10, 11 is the sealing element 3 is packed. It prevents water from draining through the gap 12 can.
- the gradation 13 mentioned above can be clearly seen, which forms the end-side termination of the connecting part 1.
- the cylindrically bent-in suspension 7 is integrally formed on the grooves 10, 11 Bead 14 hung. At the other side edge of the connecting part 1 through the clamping devices 4, 5 and the outside from the outside to the gutter edge bent tab. 6 attached. It should be noted that the connecting part in the present example, the inside the gutters 10, 11 completely free in the water flow area. The flow of water is therefore not hindered in any way.
- the fasteners (tab 6, etc.) are located on the margin, where they do not disturb.
- the suspension 7 and the bead 14 are matched to one another such that the connecting part when mounting with the hanger 7 in the slot 15 at the bottom of the Bead 14 can be inserted and then pivoted like a door around a hinge, until it rests in the desired position on the outside of the gutters.
- the outer radius of the suspension 7 is with a small clearance to the inner radius of the Bead 14 adjusted.
- Fig. 3 the clamping devices 4, 5 are shown in more detail. They are identical, so that in the following only one of the two will be explained.
- the dotted line 16 indicates where suspected the side edge 24 (see Fig. 2) of the grooves runs.
- a flat strip-shaped extension formed as a back portion 17.
- She has a height from e.g. 3 to 6 cm.
- the sheet metal tab is at an acute angle bent.
- the upper knee lever section 19 closes with the back party 17 a Angles of e.g. 20 ° to 45 °.
- the lower toggle begins 21. This is directed to the back 17 and forms with the upper toggle 20 at an obtuse angle (in the range of, for example, 90 ° to 135 °).
- a kind of fork is formed at the lower end of the knee lever part 21 . It is a matter of preferably three tabs 22.1, 22.1, 22.3, which are spread fork-shaped. While the two outer tabs 22.1, 22.3 lie in the surface of the lower toggle section 21, is the middle tab 22.2 bent out of said surface. (It runs, for example, approximately in the same direction as the upper toggle 19.)
- the tab 6 is separated by slots 23.1, 23.2 of the jigs 4, 5.
- the Slots go under the line 16, so the tab 6 regardless of what height just the side edge 15 of the gutters comes to lie, tightly around this around can be bent.
- the gutters 10, 11 are pre-assembled on the building.
- the pre-assembly The gutters 10, 11 is advantageous in that they frontally without overlapping each other directly connect.
- the connecting part 1 (based on the desired end position) turned upside down,
- the suspension 7 via longitudinal slot 8 are inserted from below into the bead 14 can.
- the side edge 24 of the grooves 10, 11 can now in the crotch (tabs 22.1, 22.2, 22.3) the tensioning devices 4, 5 are introduced. This is shown in Fig. 4a.
- the connection part 1 is e.g. with a (not shown) commercial flat-nose pliers the toggle edge 20 pressed against the back.
- the upper and lower toggle section 19, 21 are now stretched on the back party (Fig. 4b).
- the side edge 24 is e.g. pressed down by a few millimeters, whereby connecting part 1 and Troughs 10, 11 are pressed tightly together.
- the tab 6 is folded around the side edge 15 inwards. Also the upper part of the tensioning devices is advantageously bent inwards, as shown in FIG. 4c shown.
- the kink 25 is advantageously near the crotch, but can also higher up. In this way, the tension (clamp connection) between Connection part 1 and grooves 10, 11 maintained in the long term.
- the connecting part 1 with the grooves 10, 11 additionally riveted.
- the rivets are preferably mounted near the side edge, where on the one hand no sealing element is present and where, on the other hand, they do not disturb the flow of water.
- the force development and the path length of the tensioning device can be determined by the choice of Angle and the length of the knee lever sections are dimensioned. Is e.g. the knee angle at the toggle edge close to 180 ° so the gear ratio between réellegan Power and resilience very large, but the way very small. Is the knee angle however, in the range of 90 ° (or below), then the jig may have at the beginning of the clamping process an undesirably high friction.
- a dilatation connection can also be created according to the same principle.
- the connecting part in this case has a greater (e.g., double) length, hence the overlap area (between gutter and connecting part) even at low temperatures (ie large dilatation joint) is sufficiently large.
- Sealing element are advantageously a plurality of spaced strip-shaped seals intended. Because at low temperatures, the gap leads to a larger gap (of several centimeters) can, with the sealing element is visible, it can be advantageous, at a Dilatationsthetic on the inside of the channel a piece of sheet metal as a protection against UV light to install.
- the piece of sheet metal can in turn have a cylindrical bead, which at the bead 14 of the Gutters can be hung.
- the opposite end of the (here semi-cylindrical shaped) Blech Industriess can be fixed with the tab 6 or a clamping device.
- the back part 17 has z. B. a length of 3 cm, the two toggle lever sections 19, 21st a length of 1.5 to 2 cm and the tabs 22.1, 22.2, 22.3 have a length of z. B. 3 up to 5 mm.
- the back part 17 and the knee lever parts 19, 21 are all the same width (eg. 3 cm). This mass is for illustration only. Other dimensions are without further possible.
- the tensioning device should neither be too small nor too big become. If it is too small, the forces and leverage ratios will be unfavorable. Is she too big, it can not be operated with a commercial tool without pursuing become.
- inventive principle can be used to connect any open channels be used.
- cylindrical gutter shapes are also angular box shapes possible.
- gutters do not have a bead but only an edge, they can be replaced by a cylindrical one Hanging e.g. be provided hook-shaped inwardly bent tabs. The tensioning can then be done against these hook tabs. It is also possible in the simplest case to dispense with a suspension übehaupt and the one side of the connecting part to rivet directly to the gutter ends.
- the sealing element can also be varied. To have a good slide on the outside To ensure the gutters, a lubricant (e.g., silicone oil) can be used or a suitable surface coating can be used. Instead of rubber can also an impregnated compressible foam can be used.
- a lubricant e.g., silicone oil
- a suitable surface coating can be used.
- rubber can also an impregnated compressible foam can be used.
- a gutter connection which is fast and without soldering or welding technical expertise can be created.
- the inside of the gutter can be free of fittings or fasteners being held. The flow of water is not impeded.
- inventive compound unlike a soldering or Weld connection - material independent. It is suitable e.g. for both copper or stainless steel as well as aluminum.
