L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'actionner un appareil récréatif fonctionnant à l'aide de pièces de monnaie, comprenant un système de jeu à base de symboles (1), éventuellement un système de jeu pour des gains supplémentaires (17), un écran (22 et 23) et une unité de commande commandée par ordinateur. Selon ce procédé, des spots publicitaires incitant à jouer ou à caractère général sont représentés sur l'écran de manière commandée par ordinateur. A cet effet, un spot publicitaire contient au moins des éléments de jeu d'adresse pouvant être réunis pour former une image complète, par commande par touches et/ou par commande sur une base aléatoire. En cas d'assemblage réussi des éléments d'adresse, un gain est attribué.
