Definitions
- the invention relates to a growing body for plants, in particular for plant seedlings.
- a rearing body in the form of a planting and culture vessel is known, which is used in particular for growing and spreading plants (DE 195 16 572 C2).
- the vessel comprises a bottom wall part and a side wall part made in one piece therewith, these wall parts being formed from a coconut fiber connected by latex to form a coconut fleece.
- the plant is placed in this container together with soil.
- such a vessel requires a larger space and is relatively complex if there are a large number of cuttings.
- setting is associated with more work, because humus or soil mixtures must first be introduced into the vessel. Since the vessel must have a certain strength, at least the side wall parts of the planting and culture vessel are reinforced with one or more stiffening ribs integrated in it and formed by material densifications.
- Such a vessel is expensive in terms of very large quantities.
- the vessels made of coconut fibers and latex can be biodegraded so that the like or not when using plastic vessels, metal vessels. set disadvantages.
- the seedlings lack the necessary spacing, it is a problem to take advantage of the biodegradability of the vessel wall made of coconut fibers and latex.
- the substances to be introduced into the vessel such as soil, humus or growth-promoting fertilizers, pose an additional problem.
- the invention has for its object to give the breeding body a more compact design and to simplify the application when planting the plant.
- the stated object is achieved according to the invention in the case of the growing body for plants, in particular for plant seedlings, which is based on the invention, in that a solid body made of coconut peat, which is provided with an insertion surface for the plant, is applicable.
- a solid body made of coconut peat which is provided with an insertion surface for the plant.
- the invention thus means the advantage of using the coco peat in a still processable state, which replaces the natural peat, which will at least not be available in sufficient quantities in the near future.
- the coconut peat is biodegradable and takes the place of soil or humus and no longer needs to be filled into a container.
- the use of the solid body is not only easier by hand, the solid body also requires less space and there are no strength problems with regard to transport and handling.
- such a solid body which can also have an insertion surface for the plant that has been released from the pressing pressure, can be produced in all sizes.
- Such a solid body is also suitable for tree seedlings and the like. Like applicable.
- the insertion of the plants, seedlings, cuttings or seeds is favored such that the insertion surface forms one or more holes or a depression or the like.
- the solid body made of coconut peat is geometrically designed and its outer shape is fixed by pressing. Practically all technically and economically producible forms can be selected that are advantageous for manual ergonomic handling when inserted into a cultivated area.
- the further embodiment of the invention provides that the body is made from 100% pressed coconut peat with a compression ratio of 2: 1 to 10: 1.
- the compression ratio takes into account the different geometric shapes and the different sizes or types of plants.
- the compression level for the pressed body made of coconut peat can be selected as a function of the size (dimensions) of the body, the lowest compression level for the body being associated with the largest dimensions.
- An essential embodiment also provides that the pressed body is coated with latex rubber gum, with the exception of the insertion surface. This enables the shape achieved by pressing to be secured and, if stored for long periods, the coconut peat is protected from external influences. In addition, handling and storage is easier. This way even the smallest bodies cannot cake and keep their pressed shape.
- the rubber tree milk juice layer can be neutralized. Coating is carried out in a two-stage process, which in a first stage allows the body to be immersed in a first acidic mixture of the rubber tree milky sap and in a second stage the immersion in a second mixture of the rubber tree milky sap that contains and neutralizes carbonaceous ingredients (Sri Lanka Patent 10303 of April 10, 1992).
- a design according to which the body is shaped and pressed into a (cylindrical) circular disk of predeterminable thickness (height) or predeterminable diameter is particularly advantageous for handling and for inserting the body into free culture (earth surface).
- coconut peat is added to the body with artificial fertilizers.
- the substances can be supplied before or after the body is pressed, it proving to be particularly advantageous that the coconut peat can be processed to the body in a relatively wet state.
- Optimal conditions result from the fact that the pressing process of the body can be carried out with a moisture level of the coconut peat of 10% to 16%.
- FIG. 1 shows a vertical cross section (A-A according to FIG. 2) through a cylindrically shaped body
- FIG. 2 is a view of the body seen from the side, - 5 -
- Fig. 3 is a plan view of the body according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and
- Fig. 4 is a bottom view of the body.
- the body 1 consists of coconut peat 2 (FIG. 1) and initially has an insertion surface 4 on the top 3 for the introduction of a plant, a plant seedling or a seed, which is either a flat surface, one or more holes 13 or a small depression 14 forms, so that the plant with its roots can be inserted into the interior 1 a of the body 1 with the usual manipulations of the expert.
- a depression can of course also be formed within the intended insertion surface 4 by means of a suitable tool.
- the body 1 was or the like in a mold, a press tool. formed and its outer shape 1 b is fixed by pressing.
- the compression ratio of the loose coconut peat to the finished body 1 is between 2: 1 and 10: 1.
- the compression level for the pressed body 1 from coconut peat 2 is selected as a function of the plant, the plant seedling or the seed, the lowest compression level for the body 1 being associated with the largest dimensions.
- the pressed body 1 is coated by means of rubber tree milk juice 5.
- the insertion surface 4 is excluded from this coating in order not to hinder the planting.
- this free insertion surface 4 also serves for the supply of water if water is to be supplied to the plant immediately after setting.
- the rubber tree milk juice layer 5 is neutralized in its outermost surface.
- the body 1 is shaped (FIG. 2) into a circular disk 6 which, adapted to the plant, has a predeterminable thickness 7 or a predeterminable diameter 8 (FIG. 3), so that a cylinder 9 is formed.
- the insertion surface 4 is also visible.
- a free area 10 is formed which is somewhat smaller than the insertion area 4 in order to support water penetration from below. Water penetration from above is also possible at this point if there is a surplus of water.
- the body 1 can also mineral 11, artificial fertilizer 12 or the like. Substances may be added. These substances can easily be added and dissolved even when the coconut peat 2 is still somewhat wet.
- the pressing process of coconut peat 2 advantageously takes place at a moisture content of 10% to 16%. While the moisture content must be observed very precisely, it is not essential to consider a temperature that deviates from the normal temperature.
