Because the retrieved sheet is delivered in a flat orientation, a large number of sheets may be stored in the storage location 80 before the retrieved sheets must be removed. As shown in Figure 7 once the retrieved sheet has been delivered to the storage location, the transport and retrieval apparatus 26 is ready to deliver and retrieve further sheets from printer 30.

Claims (19)

  1. Bankautomat (10) mit:
    einem Papierpfad (151), wobei sich Papier (108) in einer ersten Richtung entlang des Papierpfades bewegt;
    einem Drucker (30), wobei der Drucker so betreibbar ist, um Vermerke bzw. Markierungen auf Papier zu drucken, welches sich in dem Papierpfad erstreckt;
    einem Antrieb (157), wobei der Antrieb Papier in dem Papierpfad greift und so betreibbar ist, daß er selektiv das Papier in einen Ablagebereich transportiert, der vom Drucker aus in der ersten Richtung entlang des Papierpfades angeordnet ist;
    einer Schneideeinrichtung (153), die wahlweise betreibbar ist, um Papier in dem Papierpfad zu schneiden, wobei die Schneideeinrichtung in dem Papierpfad in einer von dem Antrieb aus entgegengesetzten Richtung entlang des Papierpfades angeordnet ist;
    einem Sensor (155), wobei der Sensor das Papier an einem Ort in dem Papierpfad erfaßt, wobei der Ort von der Schneideeinrichtung aus in der entgegengesetzten Richtung entlang des Papierpfades liegt; und
    einer Steuerung (112), die funktionell mit der Schneideeinrichtung und dem Sensor verbunden ist, wobei die Steuerung so betreibbar ist, daß sie bewirkt, daß die Schneideeinrichtung als Reaktion darauf, daß der Sensor aufhört, Papier zu erfassen, ihren Betrieb einstellt und wobei die Steuerung funktionell mit einem gespeicherten Wert verbunden ist, wobei der Sensor als Reaktion auf den gespeicherten Wert arbeitet und wobei die Steuerung so betreibbar ist, daß sie den Wert in Reaktion auf ein Signal des Sensors anpaßt, wenn sich Papier an dem Ort in dem Papierpfad befindet.
  2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Drucker so betreibbar ist, daß er ein Formularblatt druckt und daß die Steuerung betreibbar ist, um das Papier am Ende des Formularblatts zu schneiden, es sei denn, der Sensor hört auf, Papier an dem Ort zu erfassen.
  3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein erster Abstand entlang des Papierpfades zwischen dem Ort und dem Antrieb mindestens so groß ist wie ein zweiter Abstand entlang des Papierpfades zwischen dem Antrieb und dem Ablagebereich.
  4. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie darüber hinaus eine Transporteinrichtung (26) aufweist und daß der Ablagebereich einen Spalt (114) aufweist, wobei Papier, das sich in den Spalt erstreckt, in die Transporteinrichtung eingreift.
  5. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Sensor ein optischer Sensortyp ist.
  6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Steuerung den Wert basierend auf mindestens zwei Signalen des Sensors anpaßt, wobei jedes Signal einem anderen Punkt auf dem Papier an dem Ort in dem Papierpfad entspricht.
  7. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Sensor einen Sender und einen Empfänger aufweist und daß der Wert einer Intensität des Senders entspricht.
  8. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Papier periodisch beabstandete Markierungskennzeichen darauf aufweist und daß der Sensor betreibbar ist, um die Kennzeichen zu erfassen und daß die Steuerung in einem ersten Modus betreibbar ist, um das Schneiden des Papiers mit der Schneideeinrichtung als Reaktion auf das Erfassen von Kennzeichen neben dem Sensor zu steuern und daß in einem zweiten Modus die Steuerung betreibbar ist, um das Schneiden des Papiers ohne Beachtung solcher Kennzeichen zu steuern und daß die Steuerung betreibbar ist, um einen Betrieb in entweder dem ersten oder dem zweiten Modus einzurichten als Reaktion darauf, daß der Sensor solche Kennzeichen auf dem Papier erfaßt.
  9. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Steuerung betreibbar ist, um den Wert jedesmal, wenn ein Kennzeichen auf dem Papier an dem Ort ist, anzupassen.
  10. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Papier ein Papier mit einem Blattanfang (topf of form TOF) ist und daß die Kennzeichen TOF-Markierungen sind.
  11. Verfahren zum Verhindern des Schneidens von Formularblättern aus Papier in einem Bankautomaten (10), welche zu kurz sind, um sich von einem Antrieb (157) in einen Ablagebereich zu erstrecken, mit den Schritten:
    a) Drucken von Markierungen mit einem Drucker (30) entsprechend den Transaktionen, welche an dem Automaten ausgeführt wurden, wobei die Markierungen auf Papier (108) gedruckt werden, welches sich in einem Papierpfad (151) erstreckt;
    b) Bewegen des Papiers in dem Papierpfad mit dem Antrieb, wobei der Antrieb das Papier in einer Position in dem Papierpfad greift und wobei der Antrieb das Papier in dem Papierpfad in einer Richtung vom Drucker aus stromabwärts hin zu dem Ablagebereich bewegt und wobei der Ablagebereich in einem ersten Abstand von dem Ort aus in einer Richtung stromabwärts in dem Papierpfad angeordnet ist;
    c) Schneiden des Papiers mit einer Schneideeinrichtung (153), wobei die Schneideeinrichtung in dem Papierpfad in einer Richtung stromaufwärts relativ zu dem Ort, an dem der Antrieb das Papier greift, angeordnet ist, wobei der Schritt des Schneidens als Reaktion auf das Drucken der Markierung auf das Papier, entsprechend den Transaktionen, welche mit dem Automaten ausgeführt wurden, durchgeführt wird;
    d) Erfassen des Papiers mit einem Sensor (155) an einem Ort in dem Papierpfad in einer Richtung stromaufwärts relativ zu sowohl der Schneideeinrichtung als auch zu der Position, an welcher der Antrieb das Papier greift, wobei der Ort von der Position aus in der Richtung stromaufwärts in einem zweiten Abstand entlang des Papierpfads angeordnet ist, wobei der zweite Abstand mindestens so groß ist wie der erste Abstand; wobei der Sensor als Reaktion auf einen abgespeicherten Wert arbeitet;
    e) Vergleichen eines Signals des Sensors mit dem gespeicherten Wert, wenn das Papier an dem Ort in dem Papierpfad ist; und
    f) Anpassen des Werts als Reaktion auf das Signal des Sensors;
    g) Wiederholen der Schritte (a) bis (d) so lange wie das Papier an dem Ort des Erfassungsschritts erfaßt wird;
    h) Abbrechen des Schneideschritts, wenn kein Papier mehr an dem Ort des Erfassungsschritt erfaßt wird.
  12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, darüber hinaus mit:
    i) Entfernen des Papiers aus dem Ablagebereich mit einer Transporteinrichtung (26).
  13. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Ablagebereich in Schritt (i) einen Spalt (114) aufweist, wobei das Papier, welches sich in den Spalt erstreckt, in die Transporteinrichtung eingreift.
  14. Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in Schritt (f) der Wert basierend auf zumindest zwei Signalen des Sensors angepaßt wird, wobei jedes Signal einem anderen Punkt auf dem Papier an dem Ort in dem Papierpfad entspricht.
  15. Verfahren nach Anspruch 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß im Schritt (d) der Sensor einen Emitter und einen Empfänger aufweist und daß der Wert einer Intensität des Emitters entspricht.
  16. Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es weiterhin den Schritt des Erfassens mit einem Sensor aufweist, ob es periodische Formular-Markierungskennzeichen auf dem Papier in dem Papierpfad gibt, wobei Schritt (a) ein Drucken auf das Papier mit dem Drukker in Reaktion auf die Positionen von solchen Kennzeichen aufweist.
  17. Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es darüber hinaus den Schritt des Erfassens mit einem Sensor aufweist, ob es periodische Formular-Markierungskennzeichen auf dem Papier in dem Papierpfad gibt, wobei in Schritt (b) in einem ersten Modus eine Steuerung betrieben wird, um das Schneiden des Papiers mit der Schneideeinrichtung als Reaktion auf das Erfassen von Kennzeichen, neben bzw. vor dem Sensor zu steuern und wobei in einem zweiten Modus die Steuerung so betrieben wird, daß sie das Schneiden des Papiers ohne Berücksichtigung solcher Kennzeichen steuert, und wobei die Steuerung so betrieben wird, daß sie einen Betrieb in entweder dem ersten oder dem zweiten Modus herstellt, in Reaktion darauf, daß der Sensor solche Anzeigen auf dem Papier erfaßt.
  18. Verfahren nach Anspruch 17, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in dem Schritt (a) das Papier ein Papier mit einem Blattanfang (top of form, TOF) ist und daß die Anzeigen TOF-Markierungen sind.
  19. Verfahren nach Anspruch 11, darüber hinaus mit:
    g) Erfassen mit dem Sensor, ob es periodische Formular-Markierungskennzeichen auf dem Papier in dem Papierpfad gibt;
    h) Vergleichen eines Signals des Sensors mit einem gespeicherten Wert; und
    i) Anpassen des Werts als Reaktion auf das Signal des Sensors jedesmal, wenn eine Anzeige auf dem Papier an dem Ort erfaßt wird.
