Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for winding paper or cardboard webs on winding tubes and a winding machine for performing the method.
- EP 0 481 029 B1 describes a winding machine in which the entire Roll weight is carried by the guide heads.
- the winding rolls are from the side with the desired line force pressed against the support roller.
- the guide heads are equipped with rotary drives.
- a backing roll winding machine is known from EP 0 629 172 B1, in which the Winding stations are arranged on both sides next to the apex line of the backup roller.
- the Back-up roll bears the entire roll weight at the start of winding. If that Roll weight for the desired line force from a certain winding roll diameter becomes too big, the leaders take on a bigger and bigger size increasing proportion of the roll weight.
- DE utility model 296 15 385 describes a roller for a winding machine, which has a hollow cylindrical support body made of a solid material whose jacket is a deformable layer is applied, which consists of a cellular Plastic material with a large number of evenly distributed pores and that has a compression modulus ⁇ of less than 10 MPa. It is stated that such a roller advantageously as a backup roller in a backup roller winding machine can be used because it almost eliminates nip-induced stretching of the web.
- the use of a backup roller with a layer of foamed synthetic Material in a backup roll winding machine is also from the document US-A 3,503,567 known.
- the layer of a foamed synthetic material has the task of arranging the support roller on both sides of the apex line To be able to press winding rollers against the support roller without damaging the pressure sensitive elements occur in the web.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method with the highest quality winding rolls can be produced from paper webs, even with a basis weight of less than 150 g / m 2 at high production speeds of well over 3000 m / min. Another object is to provide a winding machine for carrying out a method according to the invention.
- Claim 2 solves the second task.
- the winding rolls are adjustable with a winding Contact force against a driven and partially wrapped by the web Backing roller pressed, which is a volume-compressible outer layer of a cellular Plastic material with a large number of evenly distributed pores and one Compression modulus of less than 10 MPa.
- the peripheral or center drive is the nip between the backup roller and the winding roll running out and running onto the winding roll with one of the Paper or cardboard type dependent tensile force of at least 1 N / cm web width drawn.
- the high production speeds are caused by the destruction of the Air boundary layer entering the web on both sides of the web.
- the laminar air boundary layer is destroyed by the structured contact surface of the backup roller high-frequency vibrating pressure peaks are generated in the nip by the web act and create turbulence in the air boundary layer on both sides of the web.
- the minimum width of the nip depending on the web speed ensures that a sufficiently wide nip is formed in which the boundary layer is destroyed.
- the volume-compressible outer layer with a minimum thickness of 5 mm has that Another advantage that it dampens higher-frequency vibrations that the outside Excite back-up roller, e.g. B. excited by winding rolls with profile fluctuations Vibrations. These vibrations are damped and not on the supporting body, forwarded its storage or the rest of the winding system, so it can be vibration-free be wrapped.
- back-up roller e.g. B. excited by winding rolls with profile fluctuations Vibrations.
- the formation of the contact surface of the backup roller on the web through the layer cellular plastic material has the further advantage that the coefficient of friction between the back-up roller and the web always remain the same regardless of wear. Unlike z. B. rubber coatings changes when the layer wears No coefficient of friction. A friction coefficient that decreases with wear could increase lead to an annoying slip between the support roller and the web.
- the subclaims contain preferred, particularly advantageous configurations a winding machine according to the invention.
- Paper or cardboard web 1 Pulled off from a supply roll, not shown, several meters wide Paper or cardboard web 1 is in the backing roll winding machine by a Slitter 2 divided into individual webs and then into winding rolls 3 wound up.
- the winding machine contains a driven support roller 4 with a diameter of more than 500 mm, preferably more than 750 mm, in the example of about 1500 mm.
- the support roller 3 consists of a hollow cylindrical support body 5 from a solid material, in particular steel, which is designed to be sufficiently stable to the forces acting on or against the winding rollers 3 without bending to be able to support.
- the axial length of the support roller 4 corresponds to the maximum Width of the paper or cardboard web 1 to be processed, which are up to 10 m can.
- Shaft journals are attached to both end faces of the supporting body 5 with which the support roller 4 is mounted in the frame of the winding machine.
- a shaft journal is included connected to a rotary drive with which the support roller 4 rotated about its longitudinal axis is to rotate the overlying or adjacent winding rollers 3 during winding.
- a layer 6 is on the outer lateral surface of the support body 5 of the support roller 4 from a cellular, a variety of pores filled with gas, especially air having and therefore compressible plastic material applied, the one Compression modulus ⁇ less than 10 MPa.
- the Layer 6 is a cellular elastomer produced by foaming, in particular Polyurethane, which has a compression modulus ⁇ of 1 MPa to 5 MPa. It is important that a large number of relatively small pores over the volume of the layer 6 is evenly distributed.
- the pore size is preferably smaller than 5 mm
- a pore size between 0.05 mm and 1 mm has proven particularly advantageous.
- the pores in layer 6 are preferably partially open, that is to say connected to one another, partially self-contained.
- the proportion of open pores is 30% to 70%, preferably 50%.
- the ratio of open pores to closed pores determines both the compressibility and the ability of the layer inside dissipate any heat generated.
- the contact surface of the support roller 4 with the web 1 is formed by the outer surface of the layer 6, which therefore towards the web 1 contains open pores.
- the contact surface to the web 1 is thus with a structure provided, it has small elevations and depressions.
- Your coefficient of friction with Paper or cardboard is larger than 0.25, preferably larger than 0.4, so that there is no slippage occurs between the web 1 and the backup roller 4. Because no separate outer Running surface is present, this coefficient of friction remains on even with wear Preserve surface.
- the radially measured thickness of layer 6 is at least 5 mm, preferably 15 mm to 30 mm, so that a sufficiently wide when pressing a winding roll 3 Nip 7 can be formed.
- Layer 6 preferably consists of individual rings, which are successively drawn over the support body and glued to it. Are preferred with a distance of 50 mm to 300 mm in the circumferential direction extending, ring-shaped and extending to close to the support body 5 grooves with a Width between 3 mm and 8 mm incorporated into the layer 6 from the outside, or it are rings with a width corresponding to this groove spacing at a distance drawn from each other, which corresponds to the groove width.
- Winding stations are arranged on both sides of the support roller 4, each of which consists of there are two support elements that can be moved parallel to the support roller axis.
- On each carriage 10 is a guide head 12 with a rotary drive 13 as the center drive attached.
- the guide heads 12 can be used to hold and drive one Winding roll 3 are inserted into the winding sleeves 14.
- a additional peripheral drive can be used, e.g. B. one on the winding roll 3rd circumferential, driven roller or a driven belt.
- the winding stations with the winding rollers 3 are so relative to the support roller 4 arranged that the individual webs 1 fed to the winding rollers 3 support roller 4 in front of the nip 7 in a circumferential area over a distance of at least 50 mm Loop length.
- the wrap angle of the webs 1 is preferably around Back-up roller 4 more than 15 °, in particular more than 30 °.
- the lanes will be 1 guided slip-free, therefore the web speed in front of the Nip 7 corresponds to the Circumferential speed of the backup roller 4.
- the winding stations with the winding rollers 3 arranged on both sides of the apex line of the support roller 4, on which they during of the reeling and of which the roll weights in whole or in part be worn.
- the individual webs 1 produced in the longitudinal cutting device 2 are fed to the support roller 4 from below and from this to the winding stations fed to both winding lines.
- winding blocks 9 laterally next to the support roller 4 on the To store floor so that the guide heads 12 carry the entire roll weight.
- the Winding rolls 3 are then counteracted from the side with the desired contact pressure the backup roller 4 pressed.
- the Web 1 is fed from above to the support roller 4 and from there to the winding stations of the two winding lines.
- Such a winding machine is in EP 0 481 029-B1.
- a crossbar 15 is arranged, the lifting by means of a piston-cylinder unit 16 is lowerable.
- a carriage 17 for each winding station on the cross members 15 movably mounted transversely to the web 1.
- the piston-cylinder units 20 are able to press the pressure rollers 19 in swing up a non-disturbing rest position, as shown in Figure 1.
- a non-disturbing rest position as shown in Figure 1.
- the freely rotatably mounted pressure rollers 19 have an axial length that the minimum Width of a single web to be wound up, i.e. the minimum width of a producible one Corresponds to winding roll 3. Their diameter is 200 mm to 400 mm.
- each pressure roller 19 also consists of a hollow cylindrical support body solid material, especially steel, on the jacket of an outer layer the same cellular plastic material is applied as it is for the outer layer 6 of the support roller 4 is used.
- the thickness of the compressible layer Pressure rollers 19 is 5 mm to 30 mm, preferably 10 mm to 20 mm, otherwise their characteristics and their preferred structure correspond to those described above Layer 6 of the backup roller 4.
- the compressible outer layer of the pressure rollers 19 has the great advantage that it Fluctuations in the uniformity of the winding rolls, the z. B. from profile fluctuations result, balance and so the uniformity of the Ensure contact pressure.
- the contact pressure is generated in the embodiment according to Figure 1 by the weight of the overlying winding rolls 3, the desired value by relieving the weight by means of the guide heads 12 or - if the roll weight is not yet sufficient - with an additional contact force of the pressure rollers 19 is set. If the guide heads 12 the whole Bear the roll weight, that is, do not take the winding rolls 3 on the back-up roll lie on, the desired contact pressure is generated by the guide heads 12 with a winding roll 3 are pressed towards the support roller 4.
- the nip 7 is sufficiently large that the laminar air boundary layer between the web 1 and the winding roll 3 in the nip 7 is destroyed.
- the destruction of the Air boundary layer is caused by high-frequency vibrating pressure peaks, which in the Nip 7 are generated by the structured contact surface of the support roller 4.
- the Pressure peaks act through web 1 and dissolve destructive turbulence the laminar air boundary layer on both sides of the web 1. This will make the Air is pumped out between the web layers as it passes through the Nip 7.
