Definitions
- the invention relates to crimping pliers. Have such pliers open on one side and towards each other in a linear direction jaws movable away from each other. The movement of the Baking is controlled by toggle or crank.
- Such crimping pliers are used, for example, metallic Press sleeves onto cable ends so that they do not slip or slide. The cross section of the sleeve is changed during this pressing process. The pliers must therefore have a high final pressing force can be generated.
- the invention also relates to one for such a crimping tool particularly suitable crimping jaw as well a method for handling a corresponding crimping tool.
- each Crimping pliers of the type mentioned are known.
- an upper, not Liftable crimp jaw available, the circumference with four different press profiles.
- the respective The rotary position of the upper crimping jaw can be Lock in place. This engagement takes place by means of a spring bolt.
- notch pliers known from DE 1465898 B2 is their Complete head section with the integrated upper press jaw foldable. After inserting a workpiece, the upper one Press jaw folded back and with a non-movable Pliers frame locked. Can when folded Workpieces are not pushed sideways between the jaws, because there is no corresponding free space. in the this can result in the folded state of the two jaws rod-shaped workpieces only in their longitudinal direction in the inner area threaded between the two jaws become. The workpieces to be squeezed are therefore cross-sectional for the maximum free space between the two Limited jaws.
- the cheek swung outwards can pass through corresponding pushing against the lever as long as required any pivot positions are held. Because of your The swiveling crimping jaw falls off the center of the swivel axis after releasing the swivel lever into its locking position back. Apart from the fact that an actuation of the between the side wall panels hidden swivel lever is difficult, allows the intended locking of the swiveling crimp jaw no constant swiveling back and forth the same, but only one at greater intervals exceptionally made pivoting for repair or comparable purposes; a very high locking force ensures the desired pivot position of the pivotable Crimping jaw during the pressing process, but difficult naturally the swiveling of the crimping jaw. With an easy one set latching, on the other hand, is swinging open relieved, the pivot position during the pressing process but may not be adequately secured.
- an improved crimping tool specify that despite their small size and their associated small press stroke for deforming sleeves with a comparatively large cross-section is suitable.
- This invention is for the crimping tool by the features of claim 1, for their crimp jaw by the features of Claim 7 and for the method for handling the pliers given by the features of claim 10. Training the invention are the subject of dependent claims.
- the crimping tool according to the invention is characterized in that that when the crimping tool is not closed and at unchanged stroke position of their two crimp jaws at least one of their two crimp jaws relative to the other crimp jaw is adjustable so that it can be locked by means of a by stops or by other suitable holding means positionally secured adjustment an enlarged lateral Opening between the crimp jaws for inserting the each is ready to be deformed cable sleeve. Doing so the adjustable crimping jaw, as it were, automatically in her held open position. This makes it possible with, for example, a hand-operated one Crimping pliers can also "process" relatively thick cables. Of the maximum sleeve cross-section no longer depends on the Size of the side opening between the open crimp jaws but is defined by the shape of the two Crimp jaws and through the clear space that the two Leave crimp jaws between themselves when closed.
- the adjustment can also be done by an adjustable Crimping jaws are made possible.
- the linearly movable Crimp jaw whose storage on the pliers frame through their Mobility is more complex than that in the prior art Technology immobile other crimping jaw, needs constructive not to be changed. It is therefore possible to use the State of the art adjustable crimp jaw adjustable or exchange for an adjustable crimping jaw.
- the mobility or adjustability of the crimping jaw can be a shift and / or a pivoting include.
- the crimping jaw can thus be pivoted be. It is also possible to use this crimping jaw or a part to form the same to be displaceable.
- a User of the pliers with one hand the two The handles of the pliers can then be adjusted as far as possible Location of the adjustable crimp jaw with its other Hand the cable with pressed sleeve out of the area remove the pliers and insert a new cable with the Sleeve in the area of the maximum adjusted crimping jaw and then bring it further into the area of the two jaws.
- the cable namely adjusts the cable respectively his sleeve the adjusted jaw back, so that then immediately by pressing the pliers together Pressing process can be started.
- a crimping tool 10 is shown, the can be operated with one hand.
- the crimping tool has a fixed hand lever 12 and a movable hand lever 14. Both hand levers 12, 14 can both in the closed State (Fig. 1) as well as in the maximum open Condition (Fig. 2, 3) sufficiently gripped by one hand become.
- the immovable hand lever 12 is fixed to the head part 16 the crimping tool 10 connected.
- this head part 16 is one upper crimp jaw 18 and a lower crimp jaw 20 held.
- Both crimp jaws each have a groove-like indentation 22, 24, both of which are directed towards one another. in the 1 form the two indentations 22, 24 the outline of a hexagon.
- a crimp sleeve 26 (FIG. 10) is made from its cross-sectional shape original circular cross-section deformed and therefore immovable attached to the jacket of a cable 28.
- Direction 36 is the lower crimping jaw 20 by moving the Hand lever 14 moved back and forth.
- the upper crimping jaw 18 is unmovable towards 36.
- the upper crimping jaw 18 is one Axis 38 pivotally mounted on the head part 16.
- the two extreme pivot positions are shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 and are described in more detail below.
- the crimp sleeve can 26 in the indentation 22 of the pivoted crimping jaw 18 are inserted laterally from below.
- the upper Crimping jaw 18 is then with the crimp sleeve 26 and thus also with the cable 28 enclosed in the crimp sleeve 26 in - in the drawing - pivoted counterclockwise about the axis 38, until it returns to its position shown in Fig. 3 has taken.
- the lower crimping jaw 20, in their open position according to FIG. 2, 3 is in its lower extreme position, after moved up (arrow 40).
- the originally in circular cross section round crimp sleeve 26 then gets its hexagonal cross section Shape corresponding to the indentations 22, 24 of the two Crimp jaws 18, 20. Then move them apart of the two hand levers 12, 14, the lower crimping jaw is again down to its position shown in Fig. 3 moves and the cable can with sitting, deformed Crimping jaw 26 by pivoting the upper one sideways Crimping jaw 18 (FIG. 2) again from the area of the pliers 10 be taken.
- Crimping pliers known in the prior art differ of the pliers 10 according to the invention, among other things, that their upper crimp jaw is firm and unadjustable is. At the point where the pliers 10 have their axis 38, there is a screw connection at this point, by means of the upper crimp jaw on the head part of the pliers is interchangeable is attached. Your lower crimp jaw matches the lower crimping jaw 20 of the crimping tool 10. In the previously known Crimping pliers correspond to the dimension 50 between their two open crimp jaws the maximum stroke 40 of the lower Crimping jaw 20 (see. Fig. 2, 3). This measure 50 is essential smaller than the diameter 52 (FIG. 10) of the crimp sleeve 26.
- the crimping jaw 18 is between a front plate 54 (Fig. 4) and one that is parallel to the front plate 54 (FIG. 4) another plate, a back plate 55 (see FIG. 9), available.
- a spring clip 62 attached between the front plate 54 and the Back plate 55 protrudes through the top and from above onto one Pressing projection 66, the cantilever on the upper Crimp jaw 18 is present.
- the lower crimping jaw 20 is up (arrow 40) moves.
- the run-up slope slides 56 of the lower crimping jaw 20.1 more or less along the inside 68 of a protrusion 70 attached to the rear area of the indentation 22 from the upper crimping jaw 18 is integrally formed.
- the upper crimping jaw 18 cannot move. It also ensures that the upper crimping jaw is exact “correctly” hits the lower crimping jaw 20. The as it were automatically in their correct pressing position brought upper, swiveling crimping jaw 18 always lies “correct” on the sleeve 26 to be pressed.
- This crimping jaw 18.2 cannot be adjusted overall, it is a lower jaw part 74 of it can be moved back and forth linearly in the transverse direction 76. Of the remaining jaw part 78, on which the lower jaw part 74 depends, can then, as is known per se in the prior art, screwed to a head part 16 by a screw connection 46 be.
- the lower jaw part 74 has lateral shoulders 80, 82, which is from below against the opening edge in the front panel 54 and back plate 55 and thereby twisting the upper jaw 18 or its remaining jaw part Prevent 78.
- a dovetail shape In the lower jaw part 74 is a dovetail shape Groove 84 formed into a dovetail Spring 86 engages the rest of the jaw part 78 after cantilevered below. This allows the lower jaw part 74 lengthways the spring 86 in the transverse direction 76 to and fro. Suitable stops ensure that the lower one Cheek piece 74 does not unintentionally separate from the rest of the cheek piece 78 can solve.
- a major advantage of the invention is that in those Cases where a workpiece to be machined, such as For example, a crimp sleeve 26 is larger than the opening 30 of the working stroke of the crimping jaws, nevertheless an insertion this part to be machined in the work area of the Tool is possible. This can be done by additional rest or Spring action be ensured that when actuated the pliers get their two crimping jaws and thus also the adjustable crimp jaw inevitably in your desired Working position, that is, for example, aligns crush marks. After processing the part to be machined this part can be reversed from the Pliers are removed.
- FIG. 11 Another way to enlarge the insertion opening 30 between a lower, fixed crimping jaw 20.4 and an upper, laterally adjusted, such as outwardly pivoted crimping jaw 18.4 is shown in Fig. 11 indicated.
- Both the upper and the lower Crimp jaws 18.4, 20.4 are the upper and lower indentations 22, 24 in the two jaws 18.4, 20.4 by the measure 90 with respect to the direction of displacement going through the upper axis of rotation 38 (dash-dotted line 92) to the outside transferred.
- the indentation 22 present in the upper jaw 18.4 is pivoted still around the axis of rotation 38. However becomes the turning radius for one between the upper indentation 22 inserted sleeve 26.1 larger than when not laterally offset Indentation.
- the outer envelope (sheet 96), the the when swiveling a sleeve to be pressed 26.1 limited space required, has a radius R around the Center M of the axis of rotation 38. This radius R is something larger than it would be with an indentation 22, which is the offset 93 in size zero.
