Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fuel injection system for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine, in particular for the direct injection of fuel into the Combustion chamber or the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine.
  • the invention relates to a fuel injection system according to the genus Main claim. It is already known from JP-OS 08-312503 on the cylinder head an internal combustion engine receiving bores for one fuel injector each to provide each combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine, in each of which one Injection section of the associated fuel injector for direct injection of fuel can be used in the respective combustion chamber. That in the location hole of the cylinder head used fuel injector is by means of a clamp trained hold-down device against the prevailing in the combustion chamber relative hold down high combustion pressure.
  • the Fuel injectors in the receiving holes a relatively solid, immovable To have a seat.
  • the fuel distribution line has a receiving element for each fuel injector, in which the inlet section of the fuel injector is insertable, so that the Receiving element encloses the inlet section cup-like.
  • the inlet section of each fuel injector has Sealing element in the form of an O-ring on the inner wall of the Receiving element bears sealingly.
  • US 4,556,034 A shows a fuel injection system according to the Preamble of claim 1.
  • Fuel injection system greater tolerances in the manufacture of the cylinder head and the fuel distribution line, so that the manufacturing cost of these parts is reduced and the manufacturing costs are reduced accordingly.
  • the fuel distribution line can be mounted relatively close to the cylinder head, so that only a small installation space is needed.
  • connection area between the fuel rail and the inlet section the cross section of the fuel injection valves can be made relatively wide and short, so that no pressure drop occurs when the fuel injection valves are opened.
  • the radial one Sealing takes place in relation to an end face of the inlet section of the Fuel injector, while the axial seal against the Connection piece of the fuel distribution line takes place.
  • FIG. 1 shows the assembly of a Fuel injector and the connection to the fuel distribution line shown in section according to the prior art
  • Fig. 2 shows a section through Exemplary embodiment according to the invention in a partial representation of the Connection area between the fuel injector and the fuel rail.
  • FIG. 2 Before going into the embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 2 in more detail is, first briefly with reference to Fig. 1, the usual assembly of the Fuel injection valve 1 on the cylinder head 2 of the not shown Internal combustion engine and the connection of the inlet section 3 of the Fuel injection valve 1 with the fuel distributor line shown in section in FIG. 1 4 are described.
  • the fuel injector 1 is attached to the cylinder head 2 by inserting it into a Fig. 1 cylinder head bore, not shown, mounted relatively rigid. There is for everyone Combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine is generally a fuel injection valve 1 intended. After inserting the fuel injectors I into the associated one
  • the fuel distribution line 4 is installed in the cylinder bores of the cylinder head 2, the to supply the fuel from a fuel pump, not shown, to the individual fuel injection valves 1 is used.
  • the inlet section 3 is each Fuel injection valve 1 in an associated connecting piece 5 of the fuel distribution line 4 used and provided on the inlet section 3 Sealing ring 6 sealed.
  • the inlet section 3 of the fuel injection valve 1 has a fuel inlet opening 14, which at the inlet end of the fuel injector 1 of one extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 15 of the fuel injector 1, i. H. radial aligned end face 16 is surrounded.
  • a fuel inlet opening 14 of the Fuel injector 1 closes a step-shaped fuel feed bore 17 on.
  • a bushing 18 can be inserted into the fuel inlet opening 14.
  • the bushing 18 forms, together with a seal carrier 20, an inventive one Connection device 18, 20 within a predetermined range of variation a position compensation between the position of the inlet section 3 of the Fuel injector 1 and the position of the connector 5 of the fuel rail 4 enables.
  • the radial displacement range c of the seal carrier 20 can be approximately 0.6 mm, while the axial play b of the seal carrier 20 can be between 0.05 mm and 0.1 mm.
  • the radial displacement range c is predetermined by the difference between the inner diameter d 2 of a through bore 22 of the annular seal carrier 20 and the outer diameter d 1 of a penetration section 23 of the bushing 18. The penetration section 23 penetrates the seal carrier 20 in the region of its through bore 22.
