Definitions
- the invention relates generally to the field of Screw closures for containers and thereby Plastic closures with a relatively small diameter, the for sealing containers with pressurized Content used, especially soft drinks, beer and other carbonated foods. Specifically affects the Invention a guarantee closure according to the preamble of Claim 1.
- Plastic closures of this type have many advantages including the possibility of taking off without the Application of a tool and the possibility of the container to close again, if not all of the contents in the first opening has been used. However, there remain significant problems during manufacturing and the Handling such closures.
- a serious problem lies in the creation of fragile webs as predetermined breaking bridges, which the lower edge of the jacket wall of the closure with the Connect the pilfer band or the integrity indicator ring.
- the Bridges must be strong enough to break or tear off to avoid when the closures are attached either by screwing on or by pressing the Locks in place, but must break easily or can tear off when the closure is unscrewed.
- constructions have been developed which are some stronger bridge members over others Provide pontics and those in special places are attached. This training is special there successful if the integrity indicator ring is is split and with the jacket wall of the closure remains connected during acceptance. Other training see a spreading effect due to cam action Use of bevels at the bottom of the Shell wall and the lower edge of the Integrity indicator.
- EP-0 381 118 B1 can swivel the tabs around an axis that is perpendicular to the Axis of the closure stands, and have free ends, the below a radially protruding bead on the Intervene in the outer surface of the container neck.
- the rags are not only pivotable, but also flexible in themselves trained to be easy to remove without damaging to allow a mold.
- the relatively thin one Cross-section used to create this flexibility has the disadvantage that the rag are occasionally not stiff enough to support the Break bridges break quickly when the closure is unscrewed.
- Closures that are only in the so-called "first mode" are preferred, but the application is such closures are not without complications when they not be used on containers whose neck is very narrow dimensional tolerances have been produced.
- closures work satisfactorily for containers made of a special plastic material are made, but not with containers made from one similar plastic material but with different Hardness values have been produced.
- the Initial manufacturing tolerances are often not careful maintain and continue to decrease each time the Container is recycled.
- closures work, which are designed to operate in the first mode in some cases in the second mode of operation, namely because of too much free space between the rags and the Outer surface and the container neck below the Rag attachment bead.
- Applicant's US-A-5,107,988 discloses a flap construction in which the flaps at the transition from cylindrical wall to the inner edge bead of the Tamper-evident indicators have little cross-section, about the possibility of the self-turning described above to exclude. It becomes a pure swivel movement around one Axis perpendicular to the main axis of the closure, because of a relatively thin area Cross-section on which the flaps can be pivoted with the Inner surface of the integrity indicator ring connected are. Extend in the relatively unloaded state the flaps radially inwards with an angle of approximately 30 ° Regarding the main axis of the closure and have one generally polygonal cross section.
- the tabs swivel an additional 19 up to 20 °, in contact with the bottom of the Ring beads on the neck of the container, thus providing additional Leverage to the bridges of the integrity indicator ring to break or tear when the closure is progressively unscrewed. That is why the rags work only in a single operating mode in which they are in one are relatively upright.
- the invention has for its object a Guarantee closure with improved rag training too create the possibility of rags inside like that to swing far that the rag in the so-called second Operating mode is excluded.
- the Swivel axis of the tabs radially inward of the surfaces of the flap which is an underside of the bead on Touch the neck of the container so that when the closure is unscrewed from the bulge of the neck to the Flaps exerted forces only radially outwards have directed components.
- the Cylindrical integrity indicator ring with one upper part formed relatively thin cross section to substantial radial expansion and bulge both during the attachment to the container neck as well as during the To enable removal of the closure from the container.
- the lower part of the ring is essentially thicker Cross section and supports relatively stiff lobes on his curved top edge.
- the lobes bend or pivot in the not substantially relative to the thicker lower part of the Ring and as a result is the amount of angular rotation, around which the lobes can move, the extent of the radial expansion and bending of the upper part of the ring limited, typically not more than 30 ° above or below a horizontal plane through the lower end of the upper part of the closure is pulled.
- the pivoting effect does not depend on the effective diameter the outer surface of the container neck below the Flap abutment.
- the device 10 which is also used as a guarantee closure is referred to, two elements, namely a screw cap as a closure 11 and a container 12.
- the closure 11 has a generally customary design and is preferably applied by die casting known techniques.
- the closure includes one End wall 16, the inner and outer surfaces 17th or 18 is limited, the inner surface possibly resilient seal 19 supports.
- a cylindrical one Shell wall 20 surrounds the end wall 16 and is one Outer surface 21, an inner screw surface 22 and a lower surface 23 on which a flange 24 goes down.
- Breakaway bridges 25 form one tearable area that connects to a detachable tamper-evident ring 26 creates the the neck of the container remains when the main part of the Screw is unscrewed.
- the integrity indicator ring 26 includes an upper one Section 27 and a lower section 28 and is made by a tear line as the top 30, a bottom 31, one Limited outer surface 32 and an inner surface 33.
- the lower section 28 has a bead 34 and one Plurality of tab-shaped ring segments 39, which on Inner circumference of the screw cap 11 are arranged distributed.
- the bead 34 extends radially inward and is from a lower inclined surface 35 and an upper themselves radially extending surface 36 bounded in a Bending area 37 meet thin cross section at which the Apply rag 39.
- the tabs 39 therefore form extensions the imaginary upper inner edge of the bead 34.
- the tabs 39 have a cross-sectional shape of a polyhedron on that with its lower edge with the inner edge of the Bead 34 is fused.
- the lobes 39 are therefore in become inflexible and are just a swivel movement relative to the ring 26 about an axis through the bending area 37 thin cross section capable.
- Fig. 1-3 have the tabs 39 quasi rectangular cross-section and include pages 40 to 43. Pages 1 and 4 meet at an edge 79.
- the container 12 is generally conventional and can be made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or Plastic materials with more comparable properties be made.
- the container 12 comprises a hollow one Main body 50, from which a cylindrical neck 51 extends.
- the neck 51 includes an annular end surface 52 which delimits an open mouth 53, one of which is Inner surface 54 extends.
- An outer screw surface forms an external thread 55, which with the internal thread 22nd Closure 11 works together.
- Below the bottom Winding 56 is an annular bead 57 which for Plant the rag 39 serves.
- the bead 57 includes one rounded top 58 and a conical bottom 59, the meet at an edge 60.
- the bottom 59 can also lie in a purely radially extending plane.
- Of the Opening angle of the bottom cone is between 120 ° and 180 °, preferably between 140 ° and 160 °.
- the closure is first installed on the container neck 51 by screwing or due to an axial force.
- the tabs 39 are pivoted radially outward into the recess 38.
- the flaps 39 can abut the inner surface 33 and bulge the wall section 27 a little outwards.
- the tabs come free and assume a relatively tension-free position (FIG. 2), in which they extend into the space 62, while the edges 79 rest on the underside 59 of the bead 57.
- the cross-sectional shape of the Lappens 139 to a polyhedron with an asymmetrical house outline modified, the pages 140, 141, 142 and 143 and edges 178, 179, 180 and with the swivel range 137 with the bead 134 is connected.
- the surfaces 1, 3 are arranged radially inside of the swivel area 137 and adapt very closely to the underside 59 of the bead 57.
- the flap 139 is on the surface 142 during the First installation of the lock swiveled away to the side.
- In 4 are the load-free position of FIG Surfaces 141 and 143 radially inward to the swivel area 137.
- the Polyhedron is a rectangular shape with a chamfered edge, which makes five sides 240, 241, 242, 243 and 244 and edges 277, 278, 279 and 280 are formed.
- the edges 277 come with the first installation of the fastener an inclined inner surface 238 of ring 226 in Touch, causing the upper wall portion 227 to the outside yields and the tabs 239 on the thread 55 and the bead 57 released.
- the flaps 239 then return to the unloaded Position of Fig. 5 back.
- the fourth embodiment differs only slightly from the third embodiment, except for the Clearance 362 that is larger than that in the radial direction Free space is 262.
- Such a closure is suitable especially for use with a Integrity indicator ring 326, which splits lengthways, before all predetermined breaking bridges 325 are opened.
- An integrity indicator ring can be attached to the screw cap remain attached, or it can then be accessed by users can be removed manually.
- This type of closure is there preferred if the container is intended for recycling because the container is often made of a material that is different from that of the closure.
- tabs 339 pivot radially inward when the cap is unscrewed until the dash-dotted position is reached.
- Ring 426 is circular and includes an upper one cylindrical portion 427 of relatively thin cross-section and a lower section 428 of relatively thicker cross section.
- the ring 426 includes a top formed as a tear line 430, a bottom 431, an outer surface 432 and one Inner surface 433.
- the lower portion 428 includes the bead 434 on its upper inner edge 437 a plurality of tabs 439 start.
- the bead 434 has a curved surface 436 which merges into the top side 440 of the respective tabs 439.
- the tabs also have an inside 441 and one Bottom 442 and extend at about 30 ° to the horizontal plane that is perpendicular to the axis direction extends.
- the inside 441 is parallel to the axial direction.
- the upper section 427 is quite compliant, especially down to where most of the compliance that sits during the initial installation of the closure is needed. This flexibility can be caused by longitudinal slots can be controlled in the jacket of the ring 426. The need this compliance to the bead 457 on the container It is best to get free when looking at the figures 9 and 10 understandable.
- the thickness of the upper section is 28 mm in diameter 427 in the range of 0.457 to 0.508 mm (. 0.18 "- .0.20"), the thickness of the lobes is preferably of the order of magnitude 0.762 mm (0.030 "), the thickness of the lower section 428 is preferably of the order of 1.25 mm (.0.50 ”) and the height of the lower section is in the On the order of 1.778 - 2.54 mm (.070 - .100 ") to ensure the greatest amount of compliance takes place within the upper section 427.
- the behavior of the device during the acceptance of one Container neck 51 is shown in FIGS. 11, 12 and 13.
- the neck 51 includes an outwardly extending one Bead 457 and below it a space 462 for receiving the Rag 439.
- the Pivotal movement between the position of FIG. 10 and the 12 is approximately 30 °. Unscrew the cap again leads to the tearing of the tear notch 430.
- the function of the Tearing open does not depend on the diameter of space 462; therefore the rags work properly even if the Outer surface 462 of the neck is undersized.
- the integrity indicator ring 426 takes the one in FIG. 13 shown state, in which of the predetermined breaking bridges supported area shown in the left part of the illustration while the right part of the figure is not shows fragile bridges 432.
- FIGs. 14 and 15 are for the first embodiment corresponding parts with similar reference numerals but with the prefix 5.
- the cross section is FIG Rag 539 generally rectangular and considerably thicker than the wall of the upper section 527.
- the section 527 is also segmented by longitudinal slots, the Segments correspond to the width of the flaps 539, so that the Ring 526 bulged slightly during initial installation can be as shown in Fig. 15.
- the cross section of the Rag 539 is rectangular with a slight taper to To offer abutting surfaces with the screw turns and the Bead 557 work together.

bei welchem die Wandstärken des Unversehrtheitsanzeigebandes so gewählt sind, daß die gesamte Winkelbewegung zwischen den Lappen (439) und dem unteren Abschnitt (428) während des Entfernens des Verschlusses von einem Behälter in der Größenordnung von 30 ° liegt. - Behälter und daran angebrachter Schraubverschluß mit folgenden Merkmalen:der Verschluß weist einen Unversehrtheitsanzeigering mit einem Sollbruchbereich auf, der mit einer ringförmigen Kantenoberfläche des Hauptteiles des Verschlusses verbunden ist;der Unversehrtheitsanzeigering weist eine Mehrzahl von radial nach innen sich erstreckender Lappen auf, die mit einer inneren Oberfläche des Ringes schwenkbar verbunden sind;der Behälter weist einen zylindrischen Hals mit einer Hauptlängsachse, eine äußere Schraubfläche und einen ringförmigen Wulst zur Anlage an dem Lappen auf, wobei das Abschrauben des Verschlusses von dem Hals dazu dient, den Unversehrtheitsanzeigering von dem Hauptteil des Verschlusses zu trennen;
