Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for damping Vibrations of a racket, in particular a tennis racket, Squash rackets or racquetball rackets.
- Racket frame at frequencies of about 180 to 280 Hz, where this natural frequency is the first mode of a free-free oscillation, where the racket is not clamped.
- the characteristic of such a free-free oscillation is Circumstance that a maximum amplitude of the vibration on head end and at the handle end as well as in a middle Area is present.
- the area of the covered area also lies like the end area of the handle facing the covered surface in a vibration node.
- the arrangement of damping elements leads in the area of the covering whenever this Element placed near a vibration node relative to one little impact and thus a relatively small one Damping.
- Damper weights have also been suggested or in the handle-side end of the ball racket from the elastic Define handle axis deflectable.
- a damper weight has become known for example from JP 04263876, whereby the damper weight is at least 3 g, and preferably 5 to 30 g, is.
- a damping weight is known from EP 781 575 A2 become known, whose natural frequency is chosen such that it corresponds to the vibration frequency of the ball racket.
- the invention now aims to achieve the lowest possible additional Effective cushioning of rackets with to achieve low weight and a suitable coordination the damping regardless of the choice of strings of the covering and ensure the choice of the covering weight.
- the training according to the invention essentially in that at or in the handle-side end of the ball racket a damper weight resiliently from the grip axis deflectable is set, the weight with 0.6 to elastic fixing to an at least uniaxial deflection designed with a natural frequency between 100 and 300 Hz or is dimensioned and that the damper weight in a cavity is arranged in an elastic support at the end of the handle, which at least two each other with respect to the handle axis diametrically opposite points on the wall of the cavity is supported.
- the relatively light racket reacts after being excited the ball contact almost undamped with its natural frequency, being the damper on the same shock with its natural frequency responding.
- the extent of damping the vibration of the damping weight in the elastic setting is for the effect of Damping almost without influence here, since the two vibrations, namely the vibration of the racket and the vibration of the Damping weight are coupled together.
- the vibrations of the racket are decisive and then when the natural frequency of the damper is on the natural frequency the racket is matched and a corresponding amplitude the damping weight is guaranteed, effective Damping with the lowest mass in the smallest space.
- the Arrangement in the handle-side end of the ball racket provides this sure that the damper weight is always in the antinode of the Natural vibration of the racket is arranged.
- the training according to the invention is so hit that the handle-side damper weight biaxial elastic can be deflected and pivoted elastically around the handle axis is set, with such a biaxial elastic Usually deflection due to the inertia of the mass the damper weight also dampens vibrations around the Handle axis successful. If the excitation is off-center The frame weight remains due to the damper weight Mass inertia initially in its original position and will subsequently due to the elastic deformation of the fixing a rotational vibration excited, which the vibration of the Counteracts racket frame around the longitudinal axis of the handle.
- the damper weight is advantageously between 3 and 10 g, preferably about 5 g. Taking into account the beginning mentioned club weights of 180 to 250 g in modern Tennis rackets and slightly lower weights for squash rackets is thus with an extremely small damper weight found enough.
- the damper weight is arranged in a cavity on End of the handle, the damper weight in an elastic Carrier is arranged which in at least two each other In relation to the handle axis diametrically opposite points the wall of the cavity is supported.
- Such one elastic carrier can be made of elastomer in a simple manner Material, in particular silicone rubber, the Carrier in the manner of a carrier of the same strength has a cross section has, which is in the axial view of the handle starting from the damper weight to the walls of the cavity increased. This also applies to the elastic support an extremely small component is required, which itself in turn as small as possible to the total mass of the racket contributes.
- the natural frequency of the Vibration of the damper weight depends on the rigidity and from the crowd.
- the stiffness of the elastic support can hiebei by compression or the type of clamping of the carrier and the shape of the wearer can be influenced. Usually is the stiffness of the damper from the bending stiffness of the elastomer decisively influenced.
- the measurement of the natural frequency The damper is relatively difficult to measure because it is extremely difficult small accelerometers must be measured. A good However, approximation results from the arithmetical determination the natural frequency with knowledge of the material for the elastomer and the shape of the wearer with simultaneous knowledge the mass of the vibration damper.
- the Natural frequency of the vibration of the damper weight by choosing the Stiffness and / or compression of the carrier and choice of Mass of the weight set to a frequency which the Frequency of the free-vibration of the first order of the racket equivalent.
- this is to be achieved an optimal damping with low weight the arrangement so that the damper weight and especially the Focus of the damper weight in the area of the antinode and especially those normal to the axis of the handle Level, which is from the antinode of the free-free vibration first order of the ball racket is penetrated at the end of the handle is arranged.
- the amplitude of the damper required for damping is proportional to the ratio of the stiffness of the racket to the Stiffness of the damper. The lighter the racket gets, the more larger amplitudes must be allowed for the damper and it is therefore advantageously designed so that the Vibration amplitude of the damper weight proportional to that Ratio of the stiffness of the racket to the stiffness of the Carrier with a lower club weight larger than with a higher one Racket weight is selected.
- Another characteristic measure of the effect of the damper represents the so-called enlargement function.
- This enlargement function is defined as the amplitude of the racket by the Excitation amplitude. If this ratio between the natural frequency of the damper and the natural frequency of the racket values assumes less than 1, a particularly sustainable damping of the Overall system reached. The training is therefore advantageous hit that the ratio between amplitude of the ball racket and excitation amplitude in the range between the natural frequency the damper weight and the natural frequency of the ball racket less than 1 is selected.
- a particularly effective cushioning with low weights can be achieved in that the weight of the storage of the damping element at most 30%, preferably at most 25% the damper weight. In this way, the Influence of the bearing on the vibration behavior of the damper weight minimize and a particularly weight-saving, effective Realize damping through interference.
- FIG. 1 shows a plan view of a racket
- FIG. 2 a side view in the direction of arrow II of FIG. 1 with the schematic representation of the free-free natural frequency first Order
- Fig. 3 is a view in the direction of arrow III
- Fig. 4 is an analog view 3 with a schematic arrangement of a biaxial elastically suspended damper weight.
- a tennis racket 1 is shown, the string oval is designated by 2.
- the tennis racket 1 has one Handle 3, the axial height of which is designated a.
- the axis the handle or the tennis racket is designated by 4.
- a damper 5 is arranged, whose axial height b is less than 1/10 of the axial Length a of the handle part 3 extends.
- the vibration node 7 this First order free-free vibrations penetrate the fabric oval 2 and the handle part 3, whereas the maximum amplitudes c in the area of the antinode at the head end End and at the handle end of the racquet 1 and at the selected display just below the cover oval 2 are available.
- the damping device 5 is corresponding in the view of arrow III of FIG. 1 can be seen.
- the damping device 5 consists of a carrier and a damping weight 8, the damper weight 8 being elastic between the supports 9 is held deflectable.
- the type of clamping as shown in Fig. 3 is a multi-axis deflection. The deflection can thus both in the direction of the double arrow 10 and transversely to do this in the direction of the double arrow 11, always when eccentric impacts on the fabric oval Racket frame stimulates a torsional vibration, a corresponding elastic torsional vibration of the mass of the damper weight 8 is also permitted.
- the type of elastic suspension is schematic in FIG. 4 shown, here a two-axis suspension via springs 12 is provided.
- a two-axis suspension via springs 12 is provided.
