Definitions
- the invention relates to an edge forming device for a Weaving machine with thread guide elements guided in a linear guide for lifting and lowering of at least two edge threads, the thread guide elements of at least one edge thread this edge thread during lifting or lowering with at least one other edge thread transverse to the direction of raising and lowering.
- Edge forming devices that work together with edge threads are used in weaving machines to create a selvedge of a fabric or a waste belt.
- the Edge threads guided in thread guide elements these edge threads raise and lower so that weaving compartments are formed, in the wefts according to a predetermined pattern in the Edge threads are bound.
- the thread guide elements have mostly thread guides in the form of circular, oval or slit-shaped openings. The edging threads also become catch threads called.
- Edge forming devices for at least two edge threads are known. This is a first edge thread in one plane moves up and down while a second edge thread runs in opposite directions to the first edge thread up and down and at the same time is moved transversely to the plane of the up and down movement, so that the two edge threads cross.
- the known edge forming devices contain a needle, which moves in one plane and the one thread eyelet has, in which a first edge thread is guided. Further they contain two thread guide elements, in which crossed Slits are provided for guiding a second edge thread and are moved in the opposite direction to the needle.
- the thread guide elements move with the crossed Slits also relative to each other, so that due to the relative movement the slots of the second edge thread in one direction is shifted perpendicular to the aforementioned level, so that the two edge threads cross.
- Such an edge forming device is in the US patent 4,478,256.
- the edge forming device is with the heald frames of the weaving machine are driven together. This Edge forming device therefore only allows bonds that are determined by the movement of the heald frames.
- a another edger is in U.S. Patent 3,171 443 described by its own drive elements of a drive device is driven. The drive is pretty laborious. A change in the binding is only expensive Work possible.
- the invention has for its object an edge forming device to create the type mentioned at which simply changes the bond between the Edge threads and the weft threads is possible.
- An edge forming device offers the Advantage that it is very compact and made from a few parts can be. It can be implemented in a modular design become. In addition, it can be easily installed and removed and also in the width of the weaving machine when changing the fabric width can be shifted.

- the thread guide elements 3 and 4 contain each a slot 6, 7.
- the slots 6, 7 of the one behind the other arranged thread guide elements 3, 4 are in opposite directions inclined to the longitudinal direction A.
- the slots 6, 7 are used to guide an edge thread 8. They allow it, with opposite movement in the longitudinal direction A of the thread guide elements 3, 4 and thus the slots 6, 7 the edge thread 8 to move in the transverse direction B, i.e. transverse to the longitudinal direction A.
- the thread guide element 5 contains a needle 9, at the end of which a thread eyelet 10 is provided which has an edge thread 11 leads.
- the edge threads 8 and 11 are in the longitudinal direction A moved in opposite directions, i.e. raised and lowered, to form a shed 12 in each of which a weft is introduced. Then a new shed is created i.e. after inserting one or more weft threads, whereby the edge threads 8, 11 with the weft thread or threads a selvedge binding form.
- the edge threads 8, 11 lay down in opposite directions around the weft or threads, like this too 10, 11 and 13 can be seen.
- at least one of the edge threads 8 or 11 moved alternately in the transverse direction B. so that they cross and loop around each other, as can also be seen from FIGS. 10, 11 and 13.
- the edge forming device 1 contains one independently controllable drive 13, for example an electric drive motor, of regardless of facilities not shown is controllable to form the shed from warp threads.
- the drive 13 drives 14 eccentric drives via a drive shaft to the thread guide elements 3, 4 for the edge thread 8 and for the edge thread 11 move up and down in opposite directions.
- An eccentric drive contains a crank 15, the end of which is connected to a coupling rod 16 which is connected to the thread guide elements 3, 4 is articulated.
- the eccentric drive the in the exemplary embodiment, a Y-shaped crank rod 16 has, is at pivot points 19, 20 on the thread guide elements 3, 4 hinged with respect to an angular distance the axis of rotation of the eccentric drive, i.e. in terms of the drive shaft 14.
- the pivot points 19, 20 are thus each other with respect to one through the drive shaft 14 extending symmetry plane 21 opposite. This ensures that the thread guide elements 3, 4 at the same time be raised and lowered, but each with slightly different Because of.
- the two thread guide elements 3, 4 lead in the longitudinal direction A when lifting and lowering Relative movements from each other, so that the slots 6, 7th can also be moved in the longitudinal direction A relative to each other.
- the slots 6, 7 are arranged so that there are always parts of them cursing each other.
