Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the temporary repair of siding consisting of vertical tiles held in place by tabs vertical fixed to the shell, the lower horizontal banks and top of each slab with vertical grooves in which are introduced respective tabs.
The tiles may have a defect in the region of grooves, which compromises their behavior and can cause their fall.
The subject of the invention is a temporary repair solution pending a final repair, for example a repair final as described in French patent application n ° 95 14496.
This is achieved by means of a device essentially consisting of a profile arranged at the grooved edges of the slabs assumed to be defective and fixed in place, said device being characterized in that the profile forms a rigid longitudinal central flat on each of its longitudinal edges by a longitudinal reinforcing wave, these two waves opening in the same direction, said dish having a width sufficient to cover the horizontal gap between the two tiles overlapping rows of slabs and the contiguous grooved areas of these slabs when applied against these slabs, the two waves then presenting their openings respectively facing one towards the slabs of the lower row and the other towards the tiles of the upper row, and said profile being held in place by nails or screws running through the flat profile and at least some of the vertical tabs.
Each of the two reinforcement waves can have any desired profile, from V-profile to U-profile, the choice of profile can be determined for example by an aesthetic reason.
The waves help to give the profile sufficient stiffness during installation, stiffen the profile in service and hide the means of profile fixing.
- Figure 1 shows the profile in perspective in service situation, the profile being cut at a fixing screw to better show its characteristics.
- Figure 2 is a vertical cross section showing the maintenance by the profile of a high slab and a low slab.
Each slab has a vertical bottom groove (1a) and a vertical upper groove (1b) in its horizontal edges, the slab being held in the lower part by the upper tab (3A) of a sole and in the upper part by the lower tab (3B) of another sole. Each sole contributes by its lower tab to the maintenance of the upper edge of a slab and by its upper tongue maintaining the lower bank of another slab placed immediately above the first slab, in a manner known per se.
To prevent the fall of supposedly defective tiles which could no longer be held in place, use is made according to the invention device consisting of a metal profile (8) obtained by stamping or folding or coming from the die, which forms a central longitudinal flat (8a) between two waves (8b, 8c, 8d; 8b ', 8c', 8d ') rotated in the same direction ; the plate (8a) is applied against the slabs (1, 1 ') and fixed in place in place at the rails (4) by any suitable means, for example by screws (9) self-tapping passing through the profile then between the joints horizontal existing between the horizontal edges of the slabs and penetrating in the core of the profiles (fig. 1 and 2), (for example one screw every 40 to 60 cm). The waves advantageously have a sufficient depth to hide the screws from a remote shutter.
The wall (8d) of the profile which externally borders the wave upper (8b, 8c, 8d) is advantageously oblique to divert water from runoff to the outside while means are provided so that the water which could nevertheless have penetrated between the profile and the cladding could flow under the dish. These means consist, for example, of washers (10) arranged between the dish and the slabs, preferably in the screw passage regions, to maintain a gap between the plate and the slabs and which can be bypassed by runoff water. Advantageously, these washers are double-sided adhesive pads which serve to maintain the profile during its installation and its screwing progressive.
In a typical example, the profile is made of aluminum, a a thickness of the order of 0.5 to 2mm, a length of several meters (for example of the order of 4 meters) a total width of 3 to 8 cm, the width of the dish being at least 1cm.
The invention is not limited to this exemplary embodiment.
