Claims (8)

  1. An apparatus for handling reels (10) of in particular packaging material or cigarette paper having a central opening (22) that is formed by a reel core (11) and which is entered by a bearing journal (21) of a handling unit having holding members, in particular clamping webs, which can be displaced transversely to the longitudinal axis for the purpose of lifting and transporting the reel (10), characterized in that the reel core (11) consisting of a rigid material, in particular plastic or metal, has on its inner surface (13) projections and/or indentations which interact in a positive-locking manner with the holding members or clamping webs of the bearing journal (21), in particular at least one groove (14) which runs all around and into which the holding members or clamping webs (23) enter with projections (26) in a positive-locking manner in the extended position.
  2. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that the holding members of the bearing journal (21), in the particular the clamping webs (23), can be moved outwards parallel to the bearing journal (21) to grip a reel (10), it being possible for the clamping members or clamping webs (23) to be pressed additionally against the reel core (11) in their extended position due to the dead weight of the reel (10).
  3. Apparatus according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the clamping webs (23) can be extended into a holding or clamping position in the reel core (11) by means of an actuating member arranged inside the hollow, cylindrical bearing journal (21), preferably by means of a pressure plate (32) which can be moved downwards and on which articulated lugs (27) are mounted, which are connected to the clamping webs (23) and which transmit a spreading movement to the clamping webs due to the displacement of the pressure plate (32).
  4. Apparatus according to Claim 3, characterized in that the clamping webs (23) can be moved in an extending direction by means of a solely mechanical actuating member, in particular by means of a compression spring (34) which acts on the pressure plate (32).
  5. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that the clamping webs (23) can be moved, preferably in a retracting direction, by means of an actuating member which is arranged inside the bearing journal (21) and can be acted upon by a pressure medium, in particular by means of a (pressure medium) cylinder (36) which acts counter to the compression spring (34).
  6. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that a scanning member, which projects beyond the bearing journal (21) in the normal position, is arranged at the lower or free end of the bearing journal (21), in particular an impact body (44) which can be moved in the axial direction of the bearing journal (21) and is displaceable in the axial direction of the bearing journal (21) counter to the loading of supporting springs (45) in the event of an incorrect position of the bearing journal (21) and thus generates a signal.
  7. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that a signal can be triggered in the event of an oblique position of the bearing journal (21) relative to the handling unit (19) or a bearing plate (20) thereof, the bearing journal (21) being connected to the handling unit (19) or the bearing plate (20) so as to be elastically movable in the vertical direction, preferably by means of a plurality of bearing bolts (51) which are mounted so as to be displaceable on one side, namely in the region of the bearing plate (20) and are biased into a normal position by compression springs.
  8. Apparatus according to Claim 1, characterized in that the reels (10) on the bearing journal (21) are held additionally or solely by outer holding members which can be moved against the underside or the free end of the bearing journal (21) and/or the underside of the reels (10), preferably by means of a supporting limb (58) of a bearing bow which is displaceably mounted on the handling unit (19), in particular on a telescopic arm (60).
