In particular, the or each support arm 45 can be kept in a predetermined position by an actuator 43 . In this way, the or each member for detecting the force 47 is able to detect the reaction force of the or each support arm 45 responsive to the force exerted by the same by the deflection roll 35 ' which is function of the tension of the web of paper 100 .
- the control unit 300 is adapted to set a predetermined value of the tension, preferably a predetermined range of values of the tension, to which the web of paper 100 can be subj ected to during its movement along the advancement path 101 .

- the aforementioned actuator 43 for example a motor, a pneumatic actuator, or other similar devices , a determined intermediate position of the support arm 45.
