A refuse collection receptacle comprising two bottom flaps (4, 5) which are mounted pivotably at oppositely disposed sides and which are held in the closed position by locking devices arranged at both sides in the region of the joint line of the bottom flaps (4, 5) and which comprise rigid lock members (7) disposed on the bottom flaps (4, 5) and lock members (8) mounted movably to side walls of the refuse collection receptacle (1), wherein the movable lock members (8) are held in the closed position by at least one return spring (17) and are movable by an actuating device (12, 14, 32) into the open position and disposed between the frame (2) and the bottom flaps (4, 5) are pivoting-in springs (27) which pivot the opened bottom flaps (4, 5) inwardly so far that when the refuse collection receptacle is set down the bottom flaps are urged by the weight of the receptacle automatically into the closed position and the rigid lock members (7) on the bottom flaps (4, 5), when the bottom flaps (4, 5) are closed, move the movable lock members (8, 9) against the action of the return spring (17) so far that the locking devices automatically latch, characterised in that above the upper edge (37) of the refuse collection receptacle (1) above and parallel to the joint line fixed to the refuse collection receptacle (1) is at least one bearer member (19) which projects laterally beyond the upper edge (37) and held and guided in said laterally projecting portions (38) are the upper ends (39) of force-transmitting members (14) which partially form the actuating device and which are connected to the movable lock members (8, 9) and by means of which the movable lock members are movable into the unlocking position, wherein two gripping hooks (22) which are disposed at a spacing from each other on the pick-up assembly (20) of the vehicle can engage under the bearer member (19) and for unlocking purposes the upper ends (39) of the force-transmitting members (14), which project out of the bearer member (19), can be loaded by a pressure bar (23).
  2. A refuse collection receptacle according to claim 1 characterised in that the rigid lock members of the bottom flaps (4, 5) are laterally projecting holding pins (7) and the movable lock members are pivotable hooks (8, 9) and that to engage the holding pins (7) of the two bottom flaps (4, 5) two hooks (8, 9) are mounted at both sides of the joint line pivotably about parallel axes (10, 11) to the receptacle wall (13) and are pivotable in opposite relationship by a toggle lever (12) which is pivotably mounted between the two hooks (8, 9), wherein the central pivot of the toggle lever (12) is connected to a force-transmitting member in the form of a pressure rod (14).

A refuse collection receptacle according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that the projecting upper ends (39) of the force-transmitting members (14) are protected by guard members (40) which are fixed at both sides of those projecting portions (39) to the upper edge (37) of the receptacle (1).
  4. A refuse collection receptacle according to one of claims 2 and 3 characterised in that in addition to the actuating device (14, 39) controllable from the refuse collection vehicle, there is provided a hoop lever (32) which extends around one side of the collection refuse receptacle and which acts directly or indirectly on the toggle lever (12).
  5. A refuse collection receptacle according to one of claims 1 to 4 characterised in that instead of a continuous bearer member (19) there are arranged laterally on the receptacle cantilever arms under which the gripping hook (22) can engage.
  6. A vehicle for picking up, transporting, emptying and setting down a refuse collection receptacle, characterised in that the vehicle has a pick-up assembly (20) which is equipped with two carrier hooks (22) disposed at a lateral spacing from each other for engaging under the bearer member (19) of the refuse collection receptacle (1) and with an emptying device (23, 24 or 23', 41) which is actuable by a control unit of the vehicle by way of a hydraulic cylinder (24) disposed in the pick-up assembly (20) and which acts on the upper ends (39) of the force-transmitting members (14) and the vehicle has an upper support bar (21, 42) to which the gripping hooks (22) are fixed and a lower pressure bar (23, 23') which is guided parallel to the support bar (21, 42) and raisably and lowerably with respect to the support bar (21, 42) and for opening of the locking means of the bottom flaps (4, 5) is movable by the hydraulic cylinder (24) against the upper ends of the pressure rods (14).
  7. A vehicle according to claim 6 characterised in that the lower pressure bar (23') is fixed swingingly to the jib arm of the vehicle and the upper bar (42') is part of a carriage (41) which is guided raisably and lowerably above the pressure bar (23') parallel thereto and to the sides of which are fixed the carrier hooks (22) which are disposed by way of plates (45) beneath the pressure bar (23') and which for unlocking and opening the bottom flaps (4, 5) pull the receptacle (1) with the upper ends (39) of the pressure rods (14) against the pressure bar (23') of the pick-up assembly (20).
  8. A vehicle according to claim 6 or claim 7 characterised in that arranged above the carrier hooks (22) is a securing member (46) for preventing the receptacle (1) from being unintentionally lifted out.
  9. A vehicle according to claim 8 characterised in that the securing members (46) are mounted pivotably about the axes (47) to the plates (43) of the carrier hooks (22) and are held by return springs in the securing position and are movable by upward retraction of the carrier hooks (22) into a position permitting the bearer member (19) to be lifted out, wherein however in that position the lower pressure bar (23') prevents the receptacle (1) from being lifted and that after the receptacle (1) has been set down on the ground the carrier hooks (22) are movable downwardly by the hydraulic cylinder (24) of the emptying device so that same together with the pick-up assembly (20) can be moved laterally away from the bearer member (19) of the receptacle (1) and then lifted up.
