Definitions
- the cartridge belt mentioned at the beginning shows how many known ones Cartridge belts have a number of belt links, one of which each is assigned to a cartridge and articulated with each other and is known from US-A-3,254,565. Also from US-A-3 112 673 and US-A-3 182 356 similar cartridge belts are known.
- the belt member encloses the cartridge case close to its bullet side Edge like a cuff and sits so tight on the cartridge case that it was only violently along their can be moved.
- the belt members each point diametrically opposite one another lying bulges, and the side by side Bulges of adjacent cartridges are with a connecting link connected, the openings in the bulges interspersed with play and between bulge and associated Cartridge, i.e. in each case at the end, has a thickening, which engages behind the opening in the bulge. Consequently adjacent belt links cannot be radial Direction apart.
- This pushing apart is usually resilient, so that the constriction after the strapping again essentially takes its initial dimension, but can also be deformed; after all, it is also possible to replace the constriction to provide a predetermined breaking point.
- Belt member made of sheet steel which is the rule, can also made of ductile metal or plastic; in the event of the belt member can also be made of a resilient plastic axially compressed when inserting the cartridge into the chamber become.
- each of the two transverse gags prevents a too strong one Twist of the cartridge belt because it after a slight Twist against the longitudinal axis of the connecting member strikes the inner walls of the associated bulge; this can be done by choosing suitable dimensions and tolerances a still permissible and functional twist can be set easily and reliably.
- the cartridge belt according to the invention can be used with any be inserted into a weapon at its ends, and is thus also universally usable for weapons that for the same belt, but in opposite Stripping directions.
- this is a second one, to the front or provided at the rear edge of the belt link open locking lane so that the first cartridge of the cartridge belt together with their belt link not only backwards or forwards, but either backwards or forwards out of engagement with the following belt link pushed out or pulled can be.
- the first rest lane of one opening opposite and in the opposite direction pointing to arrange the second rest lane, so that this opening is open to both the front and the back.
- the other bulge of the belt link that is being discussed need not be set up to connect the link release, and can thus be designed as is known from the generic cartridge belt.
- the second rest lane is assigned to the bulge that in the generic cartridge belt without a locking lane, and thus extends in the same direction as the first Rastgasse, either towards the front edge or preferred to the rear edge of the belt link. It is therefore a belt link created that to a median plane that is the longitudinal axis the cartridge takes up, essentially symmetrical is.
- the belt member according to the invention as well as the generic made solely from a continuous ring band can be whose ends overlap each other and with each other riveted or welded or spotted together can.
- the link is also substantially symmetrical educated.
- the symmetrical link is just together with the symmetrical belt link is advantageous as this is the assembly the cartridge belt according to the invention relieved (Belt link and link can be used regardless of orientation be installed) and prevents that when the belt is strapped different at the two ends of the connecting link Loads occur.
- both thickenings form as rectangular plates, the outline of which is dimensioned such that it is approximately the inner cross section of the bulges corresponds; by engaging the longer side edges of the plates with the inner surface of the belt member adjacent to each other within the respective bulge Cartridges aligned largely parallel; on appropriately sized game between the composite Can divide for the required flexibility of the cartridge belt to care.
- Such a cartridge belt can also with a narrow, sharp-edged cartridge inlet do not get caught in a weapon, as the following one Cartridge to the one already recorded in the inlet largely is placed in parallel.
- the plate also ensures that the shaft holding the connects the two plates of the connecting link, always reliably lies in front of the Rastgasse, so that when the belt is detached no interference can occur.
- the two are advantageously facing away from one another
- the outside of the plates is curved so that the outer front and rear edges of both plates less are far apart than the apex of the outer surfaces of the plates.
- this configuration provides, their particular advantage is that when strapping of the cartridges when they are inserted into the belt members not on protruding edges of the panels can run up. Most mechanical belting can thus done without interference.
- a further preferred embodiment of the invention is the opening on both sides of the mouth of Rastgasse widened in the circumferential direction of the belt member; if now when handling the cartridge belt according to the invention two neighboring cartridges Belt links are pivoted against each other, then slipped that this connecting link with its Thickening to the nearest ends of these elongated openings and is therefore no longer the Rastgasse across from; one placed on the neighboring cartridges Longitudinal force, which could de-belt it, is thus from the edge of the openings, so that strapping in this pivoted position of the adjacent belt links, that is with a broken cartridge belt, is not possible.
- the connector prevents with rectangular or square plates as thickened areas the often undesirable twisting of successive cartridges and their belt links and improves the light Strapping in that the two plates of the link connecting shaft always on the respective Rastgasse remains aligned.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 shows a punched-out, elongated steel sheet strip, whose rolling direction runs in its longitudinal direction.
- the lower outlet of the locking lanes 13, 13 ' is flared, to facilitate the assembly of the cartridge belt.
- the punched steel strip shown in Fig. 6 is bent into a ring band, as best shown in Fig. 5b and 5d can be seen: form the two widenings a first 15 and a second 17 bulge facing each other diametrically opposite and a U-shaped cross section exhibit; the inner distance between the two legs this U cross section is only slightly larger than that Thickness of the transverse knobs 21, 23 (Fig. 4). The radial length of the U-section is a little larger than its leg distance.
- Fig. 1 are 40 mm grenade launcher cartridges on a reduced scale 1 shown, with a cartridge case 3 and a projectile 5.
- the belt member 7 is slipped over this and on the upper, near-edge section of the cartridge case 3 pushed where the belt link thanks to the Effect of the spring tongues described above in tight Clamp seat.
- a connecting link 9 (see in particular Fig. 4) with a slim, cylindrical shaft 25 at the ends a cross gag 21, 23 is formed, penetrates these two openings 11, 11 'with its shaft 25 and engages behind each with a transverse toggle 21, 23.
- each transverse toggle 21, 23 has the same dimensions, so that the connecting member 9 is symmetrical overall. Moreover each transverse toggle 21, 23 is slightly spherical or barrel-shaped trained with a smallest diameter, the is larger than the diameter of the shaft 25.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 The attachment of the link 9 is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 can be seen.
- the spherical shape of the Cross gag 21, 23 that adjacent cartridges 1 in one certain, but to a limited extent freely against each other can be pivoted and twisted; just pivoting in a radial plane of the cartridges 1 possible until the adjacent belt links 7 with the edges abut their flattened protrusions.
- the connecting links 9 When assembling a cartridge belt, the connecting links 9 from below into the widened inlet the locking lanes 13, 13 'of the adjacent openings 11, 11 'of two belt members 7 pressed in, the shaft 25 then bends the side walls of the locking lanes 13, 13 'slightly apart until the connector 9 with its shaft falls into the openings 11, 11 'and as a result of the springing back the side walls are kept there.
- the first cartridge 1 When firing, the first cartridge 1 is inserted into the weapon Cartridge belt depending on the weapon type either to the front pushed (cartridge 1 "in Fig. 1) or pulled back (Cartridge 1 '"in Fig. 1); in the first case, the connecting link remains 9 on the second cartridge 1, as shown in FIG. 1, in the second case with the cartridge pulled back 1' ".
- the cartridge belt can be used in any type of weapon be used without being specifically targeted; loose cartridge belts are no longer a problem either to be ready for use at the fire position, since it no longer matters which end is ahead the cartridge belt is inserted into the weapon.
- each of the openings 11, 11 ' is designed as an elongated hole, which extends in the circumferential direction of the belt member, thus in its longitudinal direction in the developed view in Fig. 7.
- Rastgasse 13, 13 widens from its narrowest Place out towards slot 11, 11 'and open into it Middle in this one. It can also be the slot 11, 11 ' Junction of Rastgasse 13, 13 'to be widened.
- the cartridge belt runs into a weapon, then lie down at least the two first belt links 7 with the respective one Cartridge 1, 1 'on a flat guide, the two on the adjacent flats 19 of the first two Belt links 7 align these two so that the of cartridge belt section formed them extends straight.
- the connecting member 9 is located his shaft 25 just before the confluence of the respective Rastgasse 13, '13' because the two cartridges 1, 1 'and Belt members 7 pulled apart shortly before belting become; belting is now possible as described above Relation to the original execution of the openings 11, 11 '.
- FIG. 8 shows a further exemplary embodiment of the in FIG. 5 (b) shown belt member 7 shown in plan view.
- the settlement belongs 6.
- the bulges 15 ', 17' not like the bulges 15, 17 of the embodiment 5, with a short length, in the circumferential direction of the cartridge cross-section, and a large one Height, seen in the radial direction of the cartridge cross-section, trained, but with a large length and a small Height so that the cross section of the bulges 15 ', 17 'in the plan view of FIG. 12 each tangential extending to the circumferential direction of the cartridge cross-section, forms a narrow rectangle.
- the final rounding of the 5 is completely absent.
