Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for avoiding adhesives during the annealing of cold strip according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Cold strip is annealed in the form of tight coils in pot, hood or roller continuous furnaces.
- closed furnace systems such as. B. hood furnaces, especially high convection furnaces, often create diffusion welds, so-called band adhesives, between the turns of the cold strip. These cause an increased unwinding resistance in the roughing mill, which causes kinks or material tears on the strip surface.
- DE 42 07 394 C1 describes a method for avoiding this tape adhesive.
- the surface of the cold strip wound into coils above 600 ° C is covered with a thin cover layer, which prevents the coils from sticking, by means of defined oxidation processes.
- this top layer is removed by reducing the oxides. This is done by changing the water gas balance.
- the entire annealing process takes place in an annealing furnace, in particular Hood furnace under N 2 - H 2 protective gas mixture with a maximum of 5% H 2 and addition of defined amounts of CO 2 instead.
- the reaction between hydrogen and carbon dioxide causes intense water vapor formation, which depends on the thermodynamic state of the system. It is favored by a high H 2 or CO 2 concentration and high temperatures.
- Table 2 and Figure 2 show z.
- B the temperature-dependent change in concentration in a starting mixture of 5% H 2 and 1% CO 2 .
- the H 2 O and CO curves coincide.
- the temperature is plotted on the abscissa and the concentration of the gas fractions on the ordinate.
- the formation of water vapor increases with increasing temperature. At 700 ° C these values are still below 1% by volume.
- a higher CO 2 concentration in the starting mixture increases the water vapor formation up to approx. 2 vol.%.
- the amount of CO 2 is fixed and depends on the treated annealing surface.
- a corresponding oxidizing ratio of the CO 2 and CO partial pressures is achieved by changing the stationary equilibrium of the water gas reaction. This is achieved through a higher throughput of the protective gas.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method for avoiding the tape adhesive when annealing cold strip under protective gases with a proportion of hydrogen> 5%.
- the homogeneous water gas reaction is unusable for controlling the method according to the invention.
- Oxygen partial pressure resulting from this reaction is adjusted in the protective gas atmosphere as required.
- the process of covering the strip surface with a cover layer, which prevents the turns from sticking, is carried out under a defined O 2 partial pressure. This can be defined as the quotient of the partial pressures (P) of CO 2 and CO and must not be less than 1 during the oxidation process above 600 ° C.
- the changes in the oxygen partial pressure (PO 2 ) are shown graphically in FIG. PO 2 is shown here as a logarithmic function depending on the temperature and time.
- the phase of the CO 2 admixture can be clearly seen here. This ends when the cooling phase begins. Cover layers constructed in this way with a CO 2 quantity of 0.3 to 0.6 g per m 2 of annealing material surface prevent the individual turns from sticking in the coil. A strong reducing power of the hydrogen in the cooling phase ensures that this top layer is broken down below 600 ° C.
- the methane content in the last phase of the holding time, before the addition of CO 2 must not exceed a concentration of approximately 2% by volume of the protective gas atmosphere.
- a concentration of approximately 2% by volume of the protective gas atmosphere are treated with the inventive method low carbon and sensitive to carburizing steels z.

Abstract
