Definitions
- the invention relates to a mattress cover according to the preamble of the claim 1.
- the object of the invention is to provide a mattress cover that is conventional Way is permeable to air and steam and in the sense of cleanliness and hygiene is washable, but it is an effective and durable barrier against allergens from the mattress.
- this object is achieved by the preamble of the claim 1 starting with the characterizing features of claim 1 solved.
- the underside material is only designed to be mite-proof, for the best possible immigration (and emigration) of a mite population to prevent.
- a bottom material can do a lot be made air-permeable, so that the inner mattress of the The bottom is well ventilated. Moisture and heat build-up in the outside mattresses that are largely sealed all around and then occur also raise further health hazards through the formation of mold, can be prevented in this way.
- the top material of the mattress cover can advantageously be made from a single layer Consist of fabric with a cotton fabric on its back directly carries an allergy-proof layer as a coating. Given that for one Vapor permeability is important small thickness of such a coating a smooth cotton fabric on the coating side to edit.
- the advantage of such a single-layer upholstery fabric compared to a two-layer formation of cover fabric and barrier layer lies in the Possibility of not having to train the barrier layer self-supporting, see above that they are functional, especially in terms of vapor permeability, can be finely formed and in the sense of sufficient robustness uses the cotton fabric as a carrier. Such a cover fabric can be train washable.
- the single-layer embodiment is appropriate to avoid a gap between the outer fabric and the barrier layer, in which mites could settle.
- Complete separability of the mattress cover in is particularly advantageous two comprising the top material on the one hand and the Parts of the underside material, so that for example very much more heavily used top material can be washed more often. It is then not necessary to take up the mattress and the mattress cover subtract as a whole, rather a total wash of the Mattress covers are made at rough time intervals while the top material is to be washed in between at shorter intervals.
- the one labeled 1 in Fig. 1 and in its use form, e.g. mattress cover put on a mattress, is typically for one one-piece single mattress provided.
- mattress cover also a one-piece mattress of a ("French") Double bed, two mattresses of a double bed together or three or even six mattresses of the formerly more common (three-part) form can.
- the mattress cover consists of two completely separable ones Parts, namely an upper part 2 and a lower part 3, upper part and Bottom part with a separable zipper running around the edges 4,5 6 are connected.
- a zipper offers a robust, flexible, continuous textile connection, which is required here.
- other connections such as adhesive or button strips, such as in Combination with sealing seams or strips, find application.
- Two additional zipper sides are additional attached to the lower part 3 and run parallel to the zipper 6, so that one side of the zipper 6, which is attached to the upper part 2, with the Zipper sides 7 or 8 can be connected if a mattress lower mattress height should be obtained.
- Inaccuracies or changes in the mattress height more uncertainties of a buyer of mattress covers with regard to the mattress height to be used, which at a slightly crowned mattress is difficult to determine and also the need to if necessary, use such a mattress cover for another mattress to be able to adjust the mattress cover 1 different mattress heights appear advantageous.
- the upper part 2 comprises in particular an upper side 9 of the mattress cover 1 and next to it an adjacent edge strip in the edge pages 4, 5 and not shown edge sides of the mattress cover 1, the latter results in particular from the need to have a smooth, undisturbed top received and fasteners such as the zipper in the marginal sides too relocate.
- this also opens up the aforementioned possibility of height adjustment through different zipper sides 6,7,8.
- the upper part 2 consists of a cotton material, which is regarding its moisture absorption (sweat absorption) and its vapor permeability proven in bedding. It is understood that basically also another suitably body-friendly fiber or a blended fabric can be used.
- An ticking fabric is advantageous because of its proven manufacturing options, strength and durability, all in one Thread count of Nm 70/1 (70 km / kg) related. So that is a surface with good usage properties guaranteed.
- the functional properties of the upper part 2 are, however, determined to a very substantial extent by a layer of a polyurethane less than 50 ⁇ m thick (for example 30 ⁇ m), which is dimensioned and adjusted in such a way that it is vapor-permeable, but a reliable barrier against allergens, especially against mite droppings with a size of about 1 ⁇ m.
- the water vapor permeability according to DIN 53122 / climate B is approx. 1300 g / m 2 d.
- the top material of the upper part 2 is shrunk and smoothed, for example ground, on the rear side facing the mattress in order to take up the barrier layer as a coating.
- the surface material and coating are then connected to one another without a gap to a thickness of approximately 220 ⁇ m, the surface material also serving as a protection and support for the coating.
- the lower part 3 consists of a mite-proof underside material and in turn forms an underside 10 of the mattress cover (see FIG. 2) and the areas of the edge sides not covered by the upper part 2, i.a. Marginal sides 4 and 5.
- the lower part 3 is also made of a ticking fabric, because of its dense weave with approx. 85% relative density mites holds back.
- Such a fabric which is typically executed in twill weave with a yarn count of Nm 40/1, i.e. with a yarn that with a kilogram of yarn weight delivers a thread length of 40 km is on the one hand tight and firm, but also permeable to air and steam in a known manner.
- the underside has gathers towards all four corners 11 on the inside by diagonally aligned elastic bands 12 (mattress side) sewn into the mattress cover.
- This Ruffles have the task, on the one hand, the mattress with its Secure the pad against shifting, especially when pulling it off of the upper part, a fixed position of the mattress and the lower part of the mattress cover to obtain.
- Fig. 3 is a section through the mattress cover 1, approximately in the area Marginal page 5, shown schematically.
- the upper part 2 with the upper side 9 ends with a zipper side 13, the top material of the Upper part 2 folded over to form a clean edge finish and is sewn together by a seam 14 with the zipper side.
- the lower part 3 has three matching the zipper side 13 of the upper part 2 Zipper sides 15,16,17, which are also broken by one in Lines 18, 19 and 20 are sewn in lines. How in particular can be seen on the zipper sides 16 and 17, these are in an S-length fold of the underside material sewn in, so that the underside material is consistently preserved and the zipper sides on the inside encloses.
- Fig. 4 also in section as in Fig. 3, is a modified mattress cover shown, in which, however, the lower part 3 that shown in Fig. 3
- the lower part corresponds and in general as well as in detail with the same reference numerals is provided.
- An upper part 2 'with an inner zipper side 13' has one on the edge side so far down overhang 21 that the Zipper sides of the lower part 3 covers.
- This covering the zipper sides is also beneficial for the appearance and use, since the zipper sides do not appear visually and the "scratchy" Sheath metal parts when in use.
- the overhang 21 can advantageously be made of the same allergen-tight Material like the material on the top 9 can be formed by it for example forms its continuation. In the side area it can also - especially on the inside - reinforced, against friction loads on the zippers laminated or upholstered.
- a hemstitch 22 for a band, especially an elastic band, against tightening the lower part 3 and the mattress may be provided.
