Definitions
- the invention relates to a slot nozzle with a nozzle inlet and an orifice, with two relative to each other in the given direction (displacement direction x) displaceable slider elements forming a cavity between them one sliding surface that touches one another, of which the first sliding surface is one Recess and the second sliding surface has a projection that into the recess engages, and the cavity from the bottom and side surfaces of the recess, an end face of the projection and the second sliding surface is limited and the surfaces of the two slide elements delimiting it lie tightly against one another, with the nozzle inlet on an outer surface of one of the slide elements communicates and on a parallel to the direction of movement (x) and between the has a slit-shaped opening on both side of the slide elements, which forms the mouth opening of the slot nozzle and the application width Moving the slide elements relative to each other is adjustable.
- Such slit nozzles are from PATENT ABSTRACTS OF JAPAN vol.015, no. 031 (C-0798) known. They are used for the flat application of different types of flowable Materials on various types of surfaces. Depending on the purpose, as material to be applied z. B. dissolved or reactive synthetic resins such as polyurethane serve, but also cold glue or hot melt adhesive are possible. Such materials can, for example, for coating purposes on narrow surfaces of Wood, plastic or metal profiles can be applied or as adhesive strips on foils or paper surfaces.
- the width, in the flowable material to be applied varies because, for example Wood or plastic profiles of different thicknesses should be coated, or because adhesive or colored strips in different widths, for example Foil surfaces are to be applied.
- slot nozzles the discharge width is variable. It understands themselves that these slot nozzles are easy to disassemble for cleaning purposes and assemble and be free of adhesive or synthetic resin residues. In order to for example reactive resin not in "dead water areas" of the slot nozzle as long lingers until it hardens, if possible all channels of the slot nozzle should be used material is constantly flowing through; this also applies to such channels or Parts of it that temporarily do not when the slot width is reduced are needed.
- One such field of application is, for example, the sticking of Edge banding on the side surfaces of table tops or similar. The edge banding can the side surfaces are often fed only at a flat angle because they break easily due to its brittleness if the bending radius when applying the Edge band on the side surface to be edge banded is too small.
- the Adhesive should be applied as close as possible to the place where the edge and the side face meet. Then namely quickly curing adhesives are used for high production speeds, without the risk that the adhesive will come together before Edge band and side surface harden. Especially when gluing the side surfaces of Tabletops are common due to the different thickness of the tabletops on the problem that the width of the adhesive film is adapted to this thickness got to.
- the object on which the invention is based is, therefore, one as possible to specify universally applicable slot nozzle that the above mentioned Avoids problems as far as possible and fulfills the requirements mentioned as well is as simple as possible.
- a slot nozzle at the beginning mentioned type which is characterized in that it is between the nozzle inlet and the cavity has a plenum that communicates with the nozzle inlet communicates, connects to the cavity and its length in the direction of displacement (x) corresponds to the maximum length of the cavity; that the distribution room from a recess extending from the cavity in one of the slide elements is formed, the side of which is open at maximum order width at smaller Order widths are partially covered and that the distribution space via a supply line communicates with the nozzle inlet which is at that end of the plenum flows out, starting from when moving the slide elements relative to each other whose position is covered first at maximum order width.
- the solution according to the invention has a number of advantages: cavity and mouth opening can maintain symmetry regardless of their setting and in this way a uniform over the entire width of the mouth opening Ensure material flow.
- the construction of the slot nozzle can be very simple and result from the surface seals between the two slide elements no sealing problems.
- the slot nozzle according to the invention is easy to disassemble and easy to clean.
- the two sliding surfaces can be transverse to the direction of displacement of the slide elements be profiled so that the cavity both expand in sections as well as taper as long as the two sliding surfaces are flat on one another lie and are displaceable in one direction.
- Another advantage of this solution is that it can be used for different job widths the slot nozzle does not come to "dead water areas" and the distribution room material flows through the entire length of all order widths, because the supply line, through which the distributor space communicates with the nozzle inlet, at the end of the distribution space that opens when moving the slide elements relative to each other based on their position at maximum order width is covered first.
- the distribution space is a depression formed in the second slide element and extends from the Projection in the direction of displacement.
- the supply line ends at the protrusion opposite end of the distribution room.
- the sliding surfaces are and the bottom of the recess is flat and parallel to each other.
- the height of the mouth opening perpendicular to the direction of displacement is constant.
- the first sliding surface can be rectangular in plan and the recess be arranged in a corner of the sliding surfaces, so that the recess two has adjoining side surfaces and a floor and two abutting side surfaces of the first slide element is open laterally.
- the projection second slide element from two sub-elements.
- the first of these parts forms one part of the second sliding surface with the projection, while a second part of the second sliding surface of the second partial element of the second Slider element is formed.
- the first sub-element has the nozzle inlet and a communicating with this for the distribution space, which on a Side is limited by a side surface of the second sub-element.
- Fig. 1 shows a schematic embodiment of the slot nozzle according to the invention a first and second slide element each consisting of only one piece 10, 20.
- the two slide elements 10, 20 are in one with x in Fig. 1st designated predetermined direction slidable relative to each other and arranged.
- the first slide element 10 has a first on its underside Sliding surface 12 with a recess 14. Both the first sliding surface 12 and the recess 14 are rectangular.
- the recess 14 sets at a corner the base of the slide element 10 and is both shorter and narrower than the footprint.
- the depth of the recess 14 is in the drawing denoted by t, its width by b.
- the upper side (based on FIG. 1) of the second slide element 20 forms one second sliding surface 22. From this a projection 24 rises in a corner, the height h of the depth t of the recess 14 of the first slide element 10 corresponds. The width b of the projection 24 also corresponds to that of the recess 14. However, the length of the projection 24 is significantly less than the length of the Recess 14.
- the feed line 28 opens according to the invention in that End of the distribution space 26 facing away from the projection 24. With reference 1 to 7 would then be the feed line 28 at the right end of the Distribution room 26.
- the first slide element 10 and the second slide element 20 are made Fig. 1 assembled to a simple variant of the slot nozzle according to the invention.
- the two sliding surfaces 12 and 22 lie on each other so that in the recess 14 a cavity is formed on one side of the Projection 24 is sealed so that it is in addition to that of the lead 28 and the Distribution space 26 formed only a slot-shaped opening at its opening Front (based on Fig. 2). This opening is the mouth opening 32 of the slot nozzle.
- the slot nozzle is intended for the application of adhesive.
- the glue comes out thereby through the connection opening 30 on the underside of the slot nozzle into the same and arrives via the supply line 28 in the distribution room 26. There it is via the distributed over the entire width of the cavity and emerges at the mouth opening 32 from the Slot nozzle.
