Definitions

  • the invention relates to the use of a mixing device, which consists of a drum with a shaft rotatably mounted therein with drive means, for conching, in particular chocolate masses, several mixing tools being attached to the shaft.
  • Mixing tools have been known for decades and are used in largely horizontally aligned drums to mix bulk goods and liquid masses of any kind.
  • the mixing tools are attached to a shaft that is rotatably mounted in the drum.
  • special attention must be paid to the installation position of the mixing tools in relation to the inner wall of the drum, provided that the mixing tools are to end at a short distance from the inner wall of the drum. Deformation of the material can result in the centrifuge being blocked in the drum if the centrifugal unit (shaft and mixing tools) is not properly designed and assigned to the drum.
  • the mixer of DE 28 02 876 C2 uses a mixture of lighter and heavier particles. By adjusting the mixing tools and arranging the side flanks, the axial conveying effect of the mixing tools becomes larger or smaller. This conveying effect cannot, however, be achieved with the mixing tools shown in the figure of DE 28 02 876 C2, which open in the direction of rotation, since the mixture which has reached between the inner wall of the drum and the mixing tools would bring the mixing process to a standstill. DE 28 02 876 C2 does not contain a reason for the special inclination shown.
  • GB 2 158 365 A refers to the constructive Design of the mixing tools on US 3,027,102, where the outer sides of the mixing tools are curved in accordance with the mixing drum.
  • the mixing device of GB 2 158 365 A designed in this way, a mixture is to be brought into a comminutable state relatively quickly, the original mixture being able to consist of dry powders or other particles, to which liquid is added only later to form a slurry.
  • This originally dry mixture would, however, in the case of the mixing tools of GB 2 158 365 A (FIGS. 2 and 3), which are set at an angle and deviate from US Pat.
  • the object of the present invention is to promote the mixing processes and material restructuring in the product to be conched by using a suitable mixing tool or several suitable mixing tools.
  • this object is achieved by using a mixing device of the type mentioned at the outset, to the shaft of which a plurality of mixing tools are attached which end at a short distance from the inner surface of the drum, the mixing tools, viewed in the direction of rotation of the mixing tools, being further spaced from the inner surface of the drum in the front region are as in the rear area, so that with this arrangement of the mixing tools to the inner surface of the drum A high energy input across the entire drum length into the product to be treated is possible.
  • the use of the mixing device according to the invention has the advantage that the product to be conched between the mixing tool and the inner surface of the drum is subjected to a pressure during one revolution of the mixing tool, which causes a change in the product in the individual grain or in individual volume areas of masses.
  • the "melt" can be influenced in a defined manner.
  • the aroma of such a mass can be influenced.
  • the product configuration can be influenced in a targeted manner by such a measure, in that such a product after treatment in the arrangement according to the invention, e.g. a changed flow behavior, a changed particle surface structure, a changed aroma or a changed color.
  • a product after treatment in the arrangement according to the invention e.g. a changed flow behavior, a changed particle surface structure, a changed aroma or a changed color.
  • An essential part of the use according to the invention is that due to the angle of attack of the mixing elements restructuring of the drum inside the drum in the treatment of masses in the mixer, dryer, granulator and / or reactor is provoked. It is of crucial importance that during treatment the product to be conched is exposed to flat pressure in the end area of a mixing tool. The force acting on the product to be conched increases from the tip area of the mixing tool to the end area.
  • the mixing tools have concave or convex side walls, which taper towards one another in the front area and end in a cutting line, but widen in the rear area, so that the two side walls largely largely in the immediate distance from the inside surface of the drum over one of the rounding of the drum adapted bottom wall are connected to each other, which connects the side walls smoothly and without a paragraph. Restructuring of the product is therefore strongly supported because such mixing tools have a good specific mixing performance.
  • the product in the gap between the mixing tool and the inner surface of the drum is frequently replaced, so that a homogeneous and uniform treatment of the entire product in the drum is ensured.
  • the side surfaces in such mixing tools end, starting from the bottom wall, directed radially inward into the drum space in a section line of the side surfaces.
  • It is a mixing body which is formed, for example, as a hollow body from two side surfaces, a bottom wall and a rear wall.
  • the mixing arm opposite the bottom wall connects to this mixing body.
  • the mixing body and the mixing arm form the mixing tool.
  • the individual mixing tools are arranged on the shaft in such a way that the individual bottom walls sweep over the entire inner surface of the drum when the shaft rotates through 360 °.
  • the mixing tool or tools in the interior of the drum are designed as full mixing tools symmetrical to an axis. This has the advantage that, in the event of displacement movements in the bulk material or in the masses to be treated, the product distribution in the mixing area is divided into the same product parts. This enables high mixing qualities to be achieved.
  • half-mixing tools are arranged on a shaft in the drum. These half-mixing tools are assigned to end walls that limit the drum on both sides. The half-mixing tools are spaced further apart from the inner end wall surface in the front area than in the rear area. Lateral pressing processes can also be generated using the half-mixing tools, which also promote restructuring processes in the product.
  • the bottom wall (s) of the mixing tools can have an additional material coating. This can lead to excessive material abrasion during a mixing and Restructuring process can be prevented.
  • the side surfaces which are directly opposite the end walls of the drum are matched to the contours of the inside walls of the end wall, and the side surfaces of the half-mixing tools are designed to be concave or convex, pointing into the inner region of the drum.
