- a generic protection device is from U.S. Patent 3,772,704 known from here.
- An upper fastening strip connects an upper pad part with the thigh.
- a total of three lower fastening strips connect a lower cushion part to the lower leg, so that the shin and knee cap are covered are.
- FIGS. 10 to 12 Various types of protectors are known from WO 92/05717, and knee protectors are also known in FIGS. 10 to 12, where several upholstery parts are spaced apart lie.
- Knee pads are used in such sports, where the athlete regularly comes into contact with the ground has to count, especially in indoor sports like Volleyball and handball.
- the knee is different with its exposed areas, which will be discussed later becomes particularly sensitive to injury and pain.
- Knee pads of the type mentioned such as from by the applicant under the name "pro-tection indoor knee protection” are expelled, at least Padded areas on the patella, the both to the side of the kneecap on the femur (Os femoris) lateral epicondyle and medialis, below the kneecap on the tibia (Tibia) lying tibial tuberosity and the lateral of which lie the lateral and medial condyles.
- the caput fibulae is also preferred the fibula is padded.
- the fibula is padded.
- knee pads of the ones described here Kind are necessary when the knee is bent to rubbing movements between the upholstery area and skin comes. This is because the knee is stretched in the front midline, i.e. a connecting line between fixed points on the thigh on the one hand and the shin on the other lengthens when the knee is bent or shortens when the knee is stretched. Farther find corresponding shortening in the hollow of the knee instead, i.e. a connecting line between fixed points on the back of the thigh and on the calf shortens when the knee is bent and lengthens stretching the knee. The elasticity of the material cannot fully compensate for this.
- the present invention is the Task based on a joint protector of the aforementioned Kind of providing an improved Protection for the exposed parts of the joint independently from the flexion position.
- the danger of shifting and slipping of the protector in use is the danger of shifting and slipping of the protector in use.
- the invention proposes a joint protector according to claim 1.
- the joint is flexed without sliding movement the fasteners against each other can.
- the upholstery area for example for the kneecap with the lower fastening strip carried in an anatomically correct manner according to the flexion, so that this both when bent and at stretched joint each of the intended Single cushion is protected.
- the two upholstery areas are due to the elastic Area slidable against each other.
- the elastic Area thus facilitates the flexion movement of the Knees.
- the two upholstery areas could include pads adapted to the shape of the knee.
- the breakdown into individual pads is more favorable, to protect certain exposed areas serve the knee and are assigned to it.
- the corresponding Areas have already been mentioned above been.
- the lower cushion area cushion to protect the condyle lateralis and medialis of the tibia that includes the Upper pad area Pads to protect the epicondyle lateralis and medialis des Os femoris and that finally the lower cushion area below the Padding for the kneecap at least one more Includes pads to protect the tibial tuberosity.
- the elastic range can preferably between the two upholstery areas about constant width have so small that none larger unpadded zones arise and in view from the front like a bell curve above the cushion for the kneecap and below the pads for the lateral and medial epicondyles run.
- the last two cushions mentioned regardless of the knee flexion essentially held immovably in relation to the thigh while all other cushions are in contact with the In contrast, movement of the lower leg together relocate.
- the upper pad area and the lower Upholstery area each made of a thinner base layer and inserts on it, which preferably differ from each other only by the shape, i.e. both parts are of one unit same material, in particular from a foam material.
- both parts are of one unit same material, in particular from a foam material.
- the entire cushion part can be constructed so that the two upholstery areas with one in between elastic area at the respective boundary edges are sewn.
- the upholstery areas on a carrier material at least along each sew on their boundary edges, the backing material at the same time forms the elastic area.
- the upholstery areas can be covered with fabric or preferably be laminated. This can be done simultaneously with a corresponding molding process without further ado represent. It is also possible to use the upholstery areas to flock only after the molding process.
- the mounting strips which are also convenient made of textile material, can be made in one piece with the textile support material mentioned. However, it can also be from manufacturing Reasons to be cheaper to sew this on the upholstery part.
- the two strips can be in one piece and from an edge of the upholstery part and go up to the other edge of the upholstered part brought up and fastened there will. It is also possible to use the mounting strips each in two parts in the form of shorter tabs perform, which are then connected approximately in the middle.
- the lower fastening strip is favorable attached at both ends and with the upholstered part closed in a ring, while only the upper one Fastening strips can be opened and closed.
