Tragtrommelroller bilden die Schlußgruppe einer Papiermaschine. Sie dienen dem Aufwickeln der fertigen Papierbahn zu einem Wickel. Dabei wird als Wickelkern ein Tambour verwendet. Dieser ist parallel zur Tragtrommel angeordnet und mit seinen Lagerzapfen in den Gabein zweier schwenkbarer Hebel gelagert, so daß der Tambour um einen Teil des Umfanges der Tragtrommel herum schwenkbar ist. Dabei wird der Tambour meist im oberen Scheitelbereich auf die Tragtrommel aufgesetzt und beim Anwickeln des Bahnanfangs um etwa einen Quadranten der Tragtrommel herum verschwenkt, und zwar im Sinne einer Entfernung von der Papiermaschine. Während des Wickelns werden die Tambourlager 12 zwischen den Hebeln 9 und 11 fest eingespannt. Hebel 11 ist im Gegenzeigersinn schwenkbar, so daß er bei Übernahme eines neuen Tambours unter dem Tambourlager hindurchgleiten kann. Ein Anschlag 13 begrenzt das Wegklappen beim Anpressen.The

Tragtrommel 21 folgt dabei dem Wickel 4 und hält den Bahnzug dadurch aufrecht, daß sie auf den Wickel 4 an dessen Umfang durch Reibungsmitnahme Drehmoment aufbringt. Gleichzeitig wird Leertambour 14 durch eine Anwurfvorrichtung 31 auf die Geschwindigkeit der Papierbahn 1 gebracht und mittels der Schwenkhebel 15 auf die Führungsbahn 6 abgeschwenkt. Der volle Tambour 5 wird indessen weiter abgefahren, und Tragtrommel 21 wird hierbei weiterhin angehoben, so lange, bis die Mantelfläche von Tragtrommel 21 an der Mantelfläche des Leertambours 14 anliegt.
