Definitions

  • the invention relates to a press section for a paper machine with at least one press unit, and to a section downstream of the press section. Reference is made to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Another “pressing unit” is primarily considered as a “downstream batch”.
  • This can be a simple roller press with two rotatably mounted press rollers.
  • a so-called shoe press comes into consideration, which has a rotatably mounted roller, a press shoe which can be set against this roller and a sliding belt which is guided through the press nip between the press shoe and the roller.
  • the "downstream section” can also be the dryer section of the paper machine.
  • a press section according to the preamble of claim 1 has become known from US-A-4 561 939.
  • This known device comprises a first press unit with two press rolls, and also a shoe press connected downstream of this. Both press units each have a top felt and a bottom felt.
  • WO 88/08051 also describes two press units, both of which are shoe presses.
  • a transfer device between a suction roll serves the two press units.
  • the paper web has an S-shaped course in the transfer area.
  • the two press units are double-felted.
  • the transfer area between the press unit (which may be the only press unit or one of several press units) is problematic.
  • the transfer area should be designed in such a way that the paper web is optimally dewatered in the upstream press unit. This is of course the most important function of a press section.
  • the transfer strip should be transferred easily and reliably from the first press unit to the downstream section. To date, these two requirements have not been satisfactorily met at the same time.
  • the paper web runs together with the upper felt and the lower felt through the press nip of the press unit. The paper web is sandwiched between these two felts.
  • the two felt belts absorb water from the paper web in the press nip.
  • the press pressure naturally stops.
  • the two felt belts should be separated from the paper web as soon as possible after passing through the press nip. Accordingly, at least the one strand of felt would have to be guided after leaving the press nip in such a way that an angle of divergence arises between the paper web and the felt belt.
  • the invention has for its object to design a press section for a paper machine with a downstream unit so that the problems of the transfer area are avoided.
  • the machine should accordingly be designed in such a way that both an optimal pressing work is guaranteed during normal operation, with as little rewetting of the paper web as possible, and also a perfect transfer of the transfer strip when it is inserted after a machine stop.
  • the two deflection rollers which deflect the upper and lower felt belt of the first (and possibly only) press unit after the press nip, are mounted so that they can be moved or moved in such a way that they can be removed from the plane in which the paper web runs during normal operation.
  • the two units namely the first press unit and the downstream unit
  • the first press unit can be started up and brought up to normal speed, while the downstream unit initially stands still.
  • This can be useful in an initial phase, e.g. B. for running in the felts.
  • the paper web runs through the first press unit, and possibly through the second press unit, and is then passed into a chest located below the press in the machine cellar. This downward derivation is facilitated or only made possible by the movability of the two deflecting rollers according to the invention.
  • one of the two deflecting rollers is moved in such a way that an angle of divergence is formed between the paper web and the felt belt in question.
  • the three figures of the drawing show a press section of a paper machine seen in a side view.
  • the press section is shown in the three figures in three different operating phases.
  • the press section comprises two press units, each of which is designed as a shoe press.
  • the first press in the running direction of the paper web (see arrow A) comprises a press roll 1.
  • a press element which essentially consists of a press shoe 2 and an impermeable press belt 3 wrapping around it. These two form a press nip with each other, which has a considerable extent in the running direction of the paper web.
  • Two felt belts 4 and 5 are passed through the press nip.
  • the two press belts loop around a series of internals.
  • the lower felt belt 4 wraps around guide rollers 6, 7, and the upper felt belt 5 a suction take-off roller 8, a pipe suction device 9 and a guide roller 10. Further guide rollers are present, but not shown here.
  • the suction guide roller 8 decreases from the wire section, namely from wire 11, the paper web brought up.
  • the second press unit in turn has a press roll 1.1, and a press element cooperating with it, comprising a press shoe 2.1 and a rotating press belt 3.1 wrapping around the press shoe.
  • the second press unit In contrast to the first press unit, which is double felted, the second press unit has only a single felt belt, namely the bottom felt 12.
  • the drying section adjoins the second press unit, of which only a guide roller 20 and a drying wire 21 can be seen here.
  • the paper web is transferred from the press roller 1.1 to the drying wire 21.
  • transfer rollers At least the two last guide rollers 7 and 10, viewed in the direction of travel of the paper web, called “transfer rollers" in this application, can be moved in the direction of arrows B and C.
  • the movability can be carried out in practice in the form of guide rails, which run in the direction of arrows B and C, and on which bearings of the two transfer rollers can be moved, or by means of swivel levers.
  • a transfer scraper 1.5 is provided on the press roller 1.1.
  • paper stock suspension is applied to the screen 11 through a headbox, not shown here. Then the path continues. Here either only a narrow transfer strip is listed, or the entire paper web. Then the transfer strips or the paper web automatically run to the unit downstream of the first press unit, that is to say e.g. B. another press unit.
  • the two deflecting rollers 7 and 10 are brought into such positions that the two felt belts 4 and 5 run in parallel for as long as possible. This is the level in which the paper web later runs in normal operation.
  • This phase is shown in Fig. 2.
  • roller 7 is in its upper position (as already shown in FIG. 1) while roller 10 is lowered, to the extent that felt belt 5 now touches bottom felt 12 of the second press unit. This is in the area of a guide roller 13 of the bottom felt 12.
  • Guide roller 13 has a suction zone 14.
  • the pipe suction vacuum is open, so that the pipe suction device 9 works and holds the transfer strip or the web on the upper felt 5.
  • Fig. 3 illustrates the normal operating state.
  • the transfer strip is expanded to the full width of the web at some point so that the full width of the web passes through the first press unit, over the transfer point and through the second press unit.
  • the roller 7 is lowered in the direction of arrow B.
  • the pipe suction device on the one hand reduces the rewetting of the paper web after passing through the first press nip, on the other hand it prevents the web from sticking to the bottom felt 4 and continuing to run with it. Upper felt 5 and web thus run out of the first press nip.
  • the vacuum on the pipe suction device 9 is then switched off so that the web can lengthen after the double felted, first press unit.
