Definitions

  • the invention relates to an air silencer, consisting of an open-cell foam body, which is designed like a board.
  • Such an air silencer is known from DE-U-90 01 433.
  • the air silencer is designed as a wall element for a flushing system, for example a dishwasher, and consists of an open-cell polyethylene foam.
  • a foam sheet element is received in an essentially U-shaped suspension rail which has holding projections pointing inwards.
  • the foam panel element is interchangeably connected to the suspension rail.
  • a web for a grid ceiling which has longitudinal electrical conductors in the area of its surface.
  • the webs can be put together to form a grid ceiling.
  • the load-bearing web has a notch in its upper region, into which a non-load-bearing web is inserted, which also has a notch in its lower region.
  • a cross connection is created, the webs being inserted into one another in the area of their notches.
  • the webs are made of a tough, hard material.
  • air silencers which mostly have a cubic or cylindrical shape and are provided with holding devices, for example, to be attached to hall ceilings. It should be noted, however, that the absorption area is comparatively small compared to the enclosed space that is occupied and the effectiveness of the individual silencer is therefore unsatisfactory.
  • the invention has for its object to develop an air muffler of the previously known type such that there is a relative increase in the absorption area to the size and associated, improved performance and better adaptation to the particular application.
  • the advantage here is that, compared to, for example, cubic silencers of the same dimensions, the absorption area is increased by a factor of 1.5 to 10.
  • the large absorption area results in a more effective sound absorption with the same size or significantly smaller dimensions with the same effectiveness.
  • the multi-part and pluggable design makes it easy to transport large air silencer units.
  • the air silencer can be adapted particularly well to the particular circumstances of the application by plugging the individual foam bodies together.
  • the dimensioning of the openings results in a durable, frictional and positive connection of the entire air silencer after the assembly of the individual foam body panels.
  • the individual elements from which the air silencer is composed can be connected to one another in any shape and number.
  • the storage of the individual elements can be simplified in that the individual elements do not differ in their dimensions, but consist of a foam with a different density.
  • the advantage here is that the air muffler can be spatially aligned at the destination such that sound vibrations of different frequencies that strike the air muffler from different directions can be simultaneously absorbed.
  • the foam body has an essentially matching length and width. It follows from this that the air muffler, which is formed, for example, from four foam bodies which can be plugged together, has essentially cube-shaped external dimensions and can therefore be attached to its destination in any position with the same effectiveness.
  • the openings can each have a width which is delimited by delimiting surfaces, the delimiting surfaces of each opening facing each other being provided with at least one cut-out which increases the width of the cross section of the openings.
  • the free cut can have a length that is 0.5 to 0.9, preferably 0.65 to 0.76 times as large as the length of the opening and a thickness that corresponds to the thickness of the foam body, the free cut in its length is limited on both sides by a shoulder projecting in the direction of the opposite boundary surface.
  • a free cut is preferably provided on each boundary surface.
  • a deviating number for example two free cuts, require improved guidance and support of the two foam bodies to one another with somewhat longer production outlay and a minimally more complex assembly in the assembled state of the air silencer.
  • the foam bodies are held in the area of the projecting shoulders after they have been plugged together.
  • the shoulders can be rounded, for example, for easier assembly and to avoid hooking of the two foam bodies before the completed joining process, or they can be in the form of an insertion bevel.
  • the foam bodies can be provided with a holding device on at least one of their end faces.
  • the holding device requires an additional connection of the foam bodies fixed to one another and, on the other hand, enables the elastically flexible air silencer to be attached to walls or ceilings.
  • the air silencer is preferably used as a ceiling absorber.
  • the ceiling absorber can be hung vertically or horizontally.
  • a holding device is provided in the area of both end faces, which are mutually supported according to an advantageous embodiment.
  • the advantage here is that the foam bodies are not exposed to tensile and bending loads.
  • the holding plates can be provided with hooks and eyes so that several air silencers can be attached to the ceiling in the form of a chain. The resulting forces are transmitted via the holding plates and the linkage connecting the holding plates, so that the foam bodies are not subjected to loads which reduce the service life.
  • Fig. 1 an open-pore foam body, which is designed like a board, is shown.
  • FIG. 2 An open-pore foam body is shown in FIG. 2, similar to that in FIG. 1, but with differently designed openings.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 are each assembled into an air silencer and shown in a view from above.
  • a foam body 1 is shown as a plate element which can be supplemented with a plurality of similarly shaped foam bodies to form an air silencer.
  • Each foam body 1 has an open-pore structure and is designed like a board.
  • the openings 3 are formed like teeth and in this embodiment they have the same shape.
  • the openings 3 penetrate the entire thickness 7 of the foam body 1 and have a corresponding thickness 6.
  • the length 4 of the openings 3 corresponds to half the length 5 of the foam body 1.
  • the openings 3 are each provided with a cutout 13 on the facing boundary surfaces 11, 12.
  • the assembly is made much easier by this configuration, since the surfaces no longer touch each other over the entire surface when plugged together and therefore do not get caught.
  • the fixing of the foam bodies to one another takes place only via the shoulders 16, 17, namely by friction.
  • the foam body 1 shown here is provided in order to be joined together with three further, similarly designed foam bodies to form a unit.
  • FIG. 2 shows a foam body 1 which is designed similarly to that of FIG. 1.
  • the only difference can be seen in the shape of the openings 3.
  • the paragraphs 16, 17 are formed on the mouth of the opening 3 facing side 18 with sharp edges and protruding at right angles.
  • On the opposite end face 19 are the Heels in the area of their transition to the boundary surfaces 11, 12 beveled.
  • a different configuration for example a rounded transition, is also conceivable.
  • This configuration has the advantage of simplified assembly compared to the shape shown in FIG. 1. Due to the bevelled transition between the free cut 13 and the boundary surfaces 11, 12, the foam bodies which can be plugged into one another are guided into their final position. A jamming and a related readjustment of the foam body in their position to each other can be prevented during assembly. In contrast, paragraphs 16.1, 17.1, starting from free cut 13, are transferred into the boundary surfaces 11, 12 with sharp edges. This configuration requires a barb effect when the assembled foam body is loaded against the direction of assembly. This configuration simplifies handling.
  • FIG. 3 an air silencer consisting of four identical foam bodies 1, 2, 21, 22 is shown in the assembled state.
  • the plate-shaped foam bodies are plugged together in the area of their openings 3.
  • Fig. 4 the air silencer is shown as a ceiling absorber.
  • the plate-shaped foam bodies are put together to form a structure according to FIG. 3 and are fastened to a schematically illustrated ceiling 23 by holding plates 20 on each end face 18, 19.
  • the holding plates 20 can be made of light metal, for example and connected to one another by a connecting strut 24.
  • the holding plates 20 are provided on the one end face 19 with eyelets and on the opposite end face 18 with hooks. This configuration allows several of the air silencers according to the invention to be connected to one another.
  • the entire roof ridge can be filled with the air mufflers according to the invention through this configuration.
  • two air silencers are attached to the ceiling 23 in a chain-like manner, while the air silencers of the adjacent chain are arranged offset thereto. This configuration improves the overall effectiveness and the influence of the air silencers on one another is less.
