In this manner, as many "menu" items can be selected and saved by the subscriber, as the subscriber desires to receive.

It will be appreciated that in the alternate, the "menu" item information can be displayed for the subscriber to review prior to deleting the out-of-date "menu” item information.

  • the particular type of localized information data base information stored at any particular telepoint base station can be customized to include establishments only within the immediate vicinity of the telepoint base station, such as that of service stations, restaurants and motels, or where no establishments are located within the immediate vicinity of the telepoint base station, may also provide information of a less immediate, or more regional nature, such as that of lists of doctors, churches, public safety groups, etc.
  • the localized information data base information can include such information as the location of the establishments, or other information pertaining to the establishments, such as operating hours, sales information, or other information of interest to the portable radiotelephone subscriber.

Abstract

Système de communication personnel (10) comprenant une pluralité de stations émettrices-réceptrices (12, 14, 16, 18) qui permettent une communication vocale entre un ou plusieurs radiotéléphones portatifs (20, 22, 24) et un réseau téléphonique (30). Une, ou plusieurs, des stations émettrices-réceptrices (12, 14, 16, 18) est en outre capable de stocker une base de données informationnelles localisée et de transmettre ladite base en réponse à une demande de transmission correspondante reçue provenant de l'un des radiotéléphones portatifs (20, 22, 24) communiquant avec ladite station. Le radiotéléphone portatif (20, 22 ou 24) communiquant avec ladite station est capable ensuite de recevoir au moins une première partie de la base de données informationnelles localisée transmise et de présenter ladite base de données à l'abonné du radiotéléphone.
