- the spring 11 acting by compression with a determined prestress the operation of this security is as follows: as long as the force which the cable 3 has to transmit to the carriage 7 and to the window pane to raise the latter does not exceed a predetermined value , corresponding to the prestressing force of the spring 11, the latter maintains the tubular part 12 in a position such that its lug 13 actuates the weighing switch 14. If on the other hand, following the interposition of an obstacle on the window closing path, the force F that the cable 3 must transmit exceeds the limit set by the preload of the spring 11, the tubular part 12 slides in the sheath 9 against the return force of the spring 11 which is thus compressed. Correlatively this movement separates the part 12 and the tab 13 of the switch 14 which is no longer actuated. This change of state of the switch triggers a command to invert the direction of rotation of the motor of the gearmotor 2 by the electrical supply circuit of the latter, of which the weighing switch 14 is a part.
- This type of safety device requires an electrical circuit with an electrical memory, since it returns almost immediately to its starting position after detection and reversal of the direction of movement.
- the invention is also applied to a window regulator 1 of the twisted cable type 3, but this is less defined as follows.
- the upper pulley 7 is mounted at the end of a lever 16 articulated around an axis 19 on a fixed member, namely in the example shown the door panel 17.
- the electromechanical safety means according to the invention also include elastic means for holding the lever 6 and the pulley 4 in a determined angular position. These means consist, in the example described, of a compression spring 18, one end of which is fixed to the lever 16 and the other end of which is fixed to the panel 17.

- the switch 21 goes into a second state when it is no longer actuated owing to the fact that the lever 16 as well as the pulley 4 tilt under the effect of a force, exerted on the glass, exceeding the limit value resulting from the compression of the spring 18 and of its lever arm with respect to the tilting axis 19. In fact the end of the lever 16 then departs from the switch 21, the pulley 4 lowers at 4a and the lever 16 switches to position 16a.
- the electrical circuit of which the switch 21 is a part automatically controls the reversal of the direction of rotation of the motor of the geared motor 2.
- the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and may include various variant embodiments.
- the invention covers all means equivalent to those described, that is to say capable of weighing the force cable on the window. Indeed, this effort is transmitted to the cable 3 via the carriage 7, so that the effort on the cable gives a good image of the effort on the glass.
