Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for embedding a sink in a sideboard, which has a carrier plate and a cover sheet attached to the top thereof, the sideboard being provided with a continuous opening for receiving a sink.
  • the invention also relates to such a sideboard.
  • a method and a sideboard with the features of the preambles of claims 1 and 4 is known from NL-A-79 03 380.
  • three methods can be distinguished with regard to the type of installation and the inclusion of sinks in sideboards.
  • an opening is provided in which the cover sheet delimits the opening which is smaller than the sink and in which the cover sheet protrudes inwards relative to the carrier plate.
  • the sink is then inserted from below until the top of the sink edge touches the underside of the protruding edge of the cover sheet.
  • This method is called the substructure method.
  • a continuous opening with a constant cross-section is made in the sideboard and the sink with its protruding edge is placed on the parts of the cover sheet which delimit the opening. This method is called the build method.
  • a disadvantage of the substructure method is that the edge that delimits the opening will always be visible.
  • a disadvantage of the construction method is that the edge of the sink forms an obstacle on the cover sheet, causing water, which may be on the cover page, cannot be easily wiped away towards the sink.
  • the third method does not have these disadvantages.
  • the sink is inserted into the sideboard in such a way that the upper surface of the rim of the sink is on the same level as the upper surface of the cover sheet.
  • a continuous opening for the sink is made in the sideboard, the upper part of the opening, at the height of the cover sheet and (depending on the thickness of the sink edge) of an adjacent part of the carrier plate having a larger diameter than that Rest of the through opening.
  • a support surface for the lower side of the sink rim is created by the support plate, the outline of the sink rim adjoining the edge of the cover sheet. Between the outline of the rim of the sink and that of the cover sheet, a seal or seal is inserted when the sink is inserted. Fixing putty attached.
  • the putty is sometimes no longer available after a certain period of use or that its sealing action can no longer exert to a sufficient extent, so that water can penetrate down into the gap between the edge of the cover sheet and the outline of the edge of the sink.
  • the carrier plate is made of wood fibers, this material will swell by soaking in the moisture that has seeped downwards, causing the sideboard to lose its tight appearance. For this reason, waterproof multiplex will be used in this known embodiment of the insertion method for the carrier plate. Waterproof multiplex is very expensive compared to wood fiber material.
  • a groove-shaped or rabbet-shaped space is milled over the entire length of the carrier plate, for example a fiberboard, during production of the sideboard, which has a greater width than the width of the sink to be inserted.
  • This groove or fold-shaped space is then completely filled with a filling compound made of solid polyurethane or polyurethane foam, after which the whole is covered with a cover sheet and then sawn to the desired length.
  • a recess is provided in the sideboard, work being carried out in such a way that the cover sheet protrudes from the vertical, straight groove-shaped or rabbet-shaped space of the support plate, so that the rim of the sink will remain at a distance from the wood fiber material in the horizontal direction.
  • this only applies if you look at the cross section. In longitudinal section, there will be no groove or rebate-shaped space in the wood fiber board, because the path of the filling mass extends over the entire length of the sideboard.
  • a carrier plate namely a wood fiber board
  • a continuous recess which represents a spacious groove or rabbet-shaped space.
  • a solid or foam-shaped filling compound is applied in the groove-shaped or rabbet-shaped space, the cover sheet is placed on it and an insert fold for the edge of the sink is milled into the cover sheet and the filling compound.
  • a groove or fold-shaped space is created before the cover sheet is arranged, which is necessarily in the sideboard factory must happen.
  • a lot of filling compound is required due to the lengthwise design of the groove or rebate space and the straight wall of the groove or rebate space.
  • the advantage that a fibreboard can be used as a carrier plate is not entirely eliminated, but more or less.
  • a disadvantage of the second embodiment according to the Dutch patent application 80 05 488 is that it is possible to keep the dimensions of the groove-shaped or rebate-shaped space within limits, but that the expensive filling compound has a larger surface area than the cross-section the edge of the sink must be provided.
  • Both of the last-mentioned known embodiments have the disadvantage of an additional work step, namely the application of the filling compound before the cover sheet is placed on it.
  • Such actions can actually only be carried out economically in the sideboard factory.
  • the object of the invention is to provide such a method.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a method according to the insertion method for installing a sink in a sideboard, in which the sideboard and sink are built up with a limited number of work steps and with a smaller amount of additives, in which almost impossible is that moisture can get between the cover sheet and the edge of the sink and come into contact with the material of the support plate, so that a moisture-sensitive material, for example a wood fiber board can be used.
  • the invention has the task of creating a sideboard which is suitable for the stable reception of a sink according to the insertion method.
  • a standard sideboard can be used for the method according to the invention, which, for example, consists only of a carrier plate made of wood fibers and a plastic cover sheet fastened thereon.
  • the opening according to the invention can be made by means of simple cutting and milling tools. Only a part of the cover sheet and the wood fiber material have to be removed during the manufacture of the opening with the groove-shaped or rabbet-shaped space, so that no expensive material is wasted here. Due to the recessed position of the carrier plate area, which is directly adjacent to the cover sheet, it is almost impossible that water, which could possibly leak between the cover sheet and the rim of the sink, can get into this area.
  • the surface which is located between the first and the second section of the carrier plate and mainly points upwards, contributes to the fact that the putty introduced there remains in place.
  • the opening in the sideboard is preferably made such that the third opening section has a diameter which is smaller than the diameter of the first opening section.
  • the opening in the sideboard is made such that the vertical dimension of the circumferential wall of the first section of the support plate is greater than the height of the rim of the sink to be mounted minus the height of the cover sheet.
  • the invention further provides a sideboard with a sink accommodated therein according to the insertion method, which has a carrier plate and a cover sheet fastened on its top, according to claim 4.
  • the edge of the sink can be supported in various ways. If the lower edge of the groove or rebate-shaped space is located within the cross-section of the rim of the sink, if the vertical dimension of the groove or rebate-shaped space is not too large, the rim of the sink can be placed on essentially horizontal surfaces of the space. If the vertical dimension of the groove or rebate-shaped space is larger, the sink rim can be placed on a sealing compound, e.g. Putty to be put on.
  • the support member or body which is fastened in the support plate supports the sink edge stably and at a correct height for the insertion method is held.
  • the opening in the sideboard preferably forms a body of revolution with a vertical axis.
  • the separate support member can be formed by a support profile, for example made of polyethylene, which is provided with fastening means for fastening the support profile in the aforementioned recess in the support plate and with means for supporting the rim of the sink.
  • the support profile is preferably provided with a section which closes off the groove-shaped or rebate-shaped space radially inward, which section can also be provided with means for supporting the essentially horizontal groove or rebate surface.
  • An insertion method is known from the Dutch patent specification 79.03380, in which an overhanging cover sheet is also present.
  • the carrier plate which can also be manufactured as a fibreboard, is provided with a recess with a constant cross-section and the cover sheet with a smaller recess.
  • a space that is filled with a plastic sealant is only created between an installation ring for the sink and the rim of the sink and the overhanging part of the cover sheet after assembly.
  • the sink is first inserted into the recess until its upper edge is at the same height as the sideboard and then the sealing agent is also introduced from below, from below. Then a separate installation ring is inserted from below and attached to the carrier plate. Before the mounting ring is attached, the sink and sealant must be held at the correct height. Fastening from below has the disadvantage of being difficult to control.
  • the sideboard 1 in FIG. 1 has a sink 2.
  • the sink is assembled according to the insertion method, which ensures that the upper surface of the sink rim is flush with the upper surface of the sideboard 1 and adjoins it.
  • the sideboard 2 shows the manner in which the sink 2 can be mounted according to the invention.
  • the vertical section described here is representative of the entire circumference of the opening.
  • the sideboard has a carrier plate 4, which can be made from a fibreboard, on the upper side of which a cover sheet 5 made of plastic is glued.
  • Such sideboards without already having an opening for a sink, can be obtained from specialist factories.
  • An example of such sideboards are those made by Duropal (registered trademark). Furniture factories obtain sideboards from the named factories in order to provide them with suitable openings and to deliver them custom-made to kitchen installation companies.
  • a through opening 3 is first made in the sideboard 1.
  • the cross section of this opening 3 is large enough to accommodate the tub part of the sink 2. Furthermore, as shown in FIG.
  • material is milled from the edge region of the opening in the sideboard 1 with a milling machine. This is done with the aid of a milling cutter 13, of which only the parts relevant to the invention are shown and which is provided with a drive shaft 14 on which milling disks 15 and 18 are arranged, and also a bearing 19 arranged therebetween a support can be made on the inner surface 11 of the opening 3 in the sideboard 2.
  • the milling disk 18 is used for a receiving groove 8 (see FIG. 2) for a fastening part Put out 21 of a support profile 20 for the sink 2 (see Fig. 2).
  • the milling disk 15 is constructed from a first disk 16 and a second disk 17, the diameter of the second disk 17 being larger than the diameter of the first disk 16.
  • the opening of the first section just mentioned in the cover sheet 5 enlarged and enlarged with the disc 17, the opening of the second section just mentioned in the underlying adjacent area of the fiberboard 4.
  • the difference in the diameter of the disks 16 and 17 ensures that the cover sheet 5 with an edge part 12 (see FIG. 2) over the circular peripheral wall 9 of the groove-shaped or rebate-shaped space 7 made by the disk 17 in the wood fiber board 4 protrudes.
  • the groove-shaped or rabbet-shaped space 7 is further delimited by a circumferential horizontal surface 10 and merges with the inner or lower edge 26 into the inner surface of the through opening. This forms the third opening part mentioned above.
  • the support profile 20 is mounted, the fastening part 21 being inserted into the cut-out 8 in a suitable and clamping manner.
  • the support member 20 has a vertical body 27 which at its upper end merges into an edge flange 22 which is provided with a support surface 23 on its upper side.
  • the edge flange 22 has a support surface 24 with which the edge flange can rest on the horizontal surface 10 of the groove-shaped or rabbet-shaped space 7.
  • the circumferential groove-shaped or rabbet-shaped space 7 can be provided with a smaller excess of sealing means 25, for example Polyurethane putty to be filled.
  • sealing means 25 for example Polyurethane putty to be filled.
  • the edge flange 22 of the support profile 20 ensures that the sealing means 25 cannot flow away.
  • the sideboard 1 is ready for receiving the sink 2, the sink edge 6 being supported on the upper surface of the edge flange 22 of the support profile 20 and the contour edge of the sink edge 6 almost connecting almost to the inner edge of the protruding edge part 12 of the cover sheet 5.
  • the vertical dimension of the edge flange 22 of the support profile 20 is chosen such that the sink rim 23 is supported at such a height that the upper surfaces of the cover sheet 5 and the sink corner edge 6 are at least almost flush with one another.
  • the sideboard 1 can be made suitable for the insertion method in a simple manner and the sink 3 can be mounted comfortably and safely.
  • the gap width between the sink edge and the cover sheet 5 is so large in the example described here, both in the horizontal and in the vertical direction, that the risk no longer exists that by Gap infiltrated water could act on the fiberboard so that a fiberboard that is much less expensive than a waterproof multiplex board can be used as a backing board for a sideboard using the sink method.
