Definitions

  • the invention relates to a transport and / or storage box with angularly offset stacking edges provided on both the bottom and opening sides along the longitudinal walls and / or the end walls for stacking several box units on top of one another, with channels running horizontally at least in the longitudinal walls at a distance below the stacking edges Engagement guides for a lifting fork or the like of a hoist are provided, while in the region of the end walls there are passages leading downwards from the box opening as engagement elements for vertical gripper bars or the like of hoists provided with expandable holding claws.
  • Transport and / or storage boxes with the features specified above were and are manufactured by the applicant / patent holder and are also in practical use. They have a relatively complicated shape or shape and are therefore made of plastic by injection molding.
  • the invention therefore aims to show a way by which the use of plastic boxes in the insurance-sensitive areas of production plants or the like, in particular the automotive industry, can be avoided without the transport and storage of parts in such plastic boxes in others Areas of the same production plants or the like is affected.
  • transport and / or storage boxes of a generic type which meet the requirements existing in insurance-sensitive areas of application, but at the same time also ensure that they can be used together with system-identical transport and / or storage boxes made of plastic without any problems, especially when using matching handling and lifting equipment systems - also mixed - stacked and unstacked.
  • the box body consists entirely of sheet metal, in particular sheet steel, that at least the upper edge region of its two end walls has a, e.g. formed by folds, double-walled design that the section of the double-walled edge region adjacent to the box opening has a step-like design stepped towards the inside of the box, and that its lower step contains the passages forming the engagement elements - for the vertical gripper bars or the like of the hoists.
  • the double-walled edge region of the two end walls is designed to be open on the outside and at the bottom, and is stabilized by inserted, in particular welded-in, crossbars at least in the region of the passages, because this causes the vertical gripper bars or the like of lifting devices to be extended and retracted the passages serving as engagement elements can be improved or facilitated.
  • a further increase in stability in the area of the end walls of the box body occurs according to the invention when the crosspieces are designed in the form of flat material angles or U-pieces which have a recess corresponding to the dimensions of an opening in one of their legs or in their web , These flat material angles or U-pieces with their recess cover position to a passage and the leg or web containing them either rests against the lower step of the double-walled edge area or runs adjacent to the outer lower edge of the double-walled edge area.
  • the passages serving as engagement elements for the gripper bars or the like of hoists can be appropriately developed into so-called lifting shafts, which are similar to the lifting shafts in the double-walled end walls of plastic transport and / or storage boxes and which increase the use value of the Box body made of sheet metal contribute.
  • the outer lower edge of the double-walled edge region is provided with a bead-like flanging which is rolled or folded inwards.
  • the outer part of the double-walled edge area can also be used in this way as a handle for the box body in question, because it can be reached under with the hands without risk of injury from sharp sheet metal edges.
  • the lower edge of the outer wall of the double-walled edge region should lie at least approximately at the same height as the upper limit of the channels provided in the longitudinal walls, while at the same height as the lower limit of the channels provided in the longitudinal walls, the end walls with a horizontally stepped step into the inner wall of the double-walled edge area.
  • the outer wall of the double-walled edge area should be on the same level as the section of the end walls located below the folded step.
  • the outline shape and dimensions of the box body should be on the same level as the outer wall of the double-walled edge region with the section of the end walls located below the folded step. In this case, the outline shape and dimensions of the box body are practically the same near the floor as near the opening, if one takes into account that there are also stack edges that are complementary to one another in both areas for stacking several box units in a fixed position.
  • the invention also provides in a generic transport and / or storage box that the edge region of the longitudinal walls provided above the trough is also double-walled, in particular has a rectangular tube cross section.
  • the box body made of sheet metal receives at least the same dimensional stability in the area of the box opening on the longitudinal wall side as a system of the same plastic box body due to the ribbing molded in there on the outside.
  • the front and longitudinal walls and the bottom of the box body are made as independent parts from sheet metal blanks and are welded to one another along their abutting edges. All metal butt edges and surfaces between the end walls and the longitudinal walls and the floor should also be welded together.
  • the floor consists of an independent, with cross or longitudinal profiling, e.g. Waves or trapezoidal troughs or bumps, provided sheet metal cut, the edges of which rest on the inward-facing flange of a Z-profile forming the angularly offset, lower stack edge of both the longitudinal walls and the end walls.
  • the fixing of the floor on the inward-facing flange of the Z-profile is expediently carried out by welding. However, it can also be done by riveting.
  • the corrosion protection surface coating of the box body can be carried out on the inside and outside by galvanizing, in particular hot-dip galvanizing, and / or also by applying a paint.
  • stiffening profiles are provided in the corner zones of the box, which form a three-stage cross-section with six profile sections oriented orthogonally to one another, the two outer longitudinal flanges of this three-stage cross-section being directed away from one another at a right angle on a longitudinal wall and on one
  • the end wall of the box body can be fastened, while the four intermediate webs with the longitudinal wall and the front wall of the box body delimit a cross-sectionally angular channel.
  • the stiffening effect achieved in this way has an effect equally in the region of a longitudinal wall and an end wall of the box body and thus greatly increases its load-bearing capacity.
  • the stiffening profile is formed by a sheet metal folding profile in which three of the five folds of the three-stage cross section - and thus also the adjacent folding sections or intermediate webs - run parallel to one another, while two mutually adjacent folds are inclined or take an inclined position for this purpose, however, again run parallel to one another relative to one another, the two bent sections or intermediate webs adjacent to the obliquely or inclined folds have a trapezoidal surface boundary, the tapering of which is directed opposite to one another.
  • a stiffening profile used with this spatial shape brings about an optimal stiffening effect at the corner zones of the generic transport and / or storage boxes. This is particularly the case when the dimensions of the folded sections of the three-stage cross section at the lower end of the stiffening profile are essentially determined by the profile width of the stacking edges adjoining the bottom walls and the end walls of the box body on the bottom, while the dimensions of the corresponding bent sections on the upper end of Stiffening profile are essentially determined by the profile depth of the channels in the longitudinal walls and by the profile width of the step on the end walls.
  • this stiffening effect can also be optimized by providing the two trapezoid-shaped bent sections or intermediate webs of the stiffening profile with an arrangement parallel to the longitudinal walls of the box body.
  • the additional stiffening profile is not only welded to the adjacent longitudinal and end faces of the box body via its two outer longitudinal flanges, but welds can also be made between their transverse edges and the stacking edges or the channels and steps provided in the box body.
  • the transport and / or storage box 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 8 has a box body 2 made entirely of sheet metal, in particular sheet steel, which has two longitudinal walls 3 and 4, two end walls 5 and 6 and a bottom 7.
  • the longitudinal walls 3 and 4, the end walls 5 and 6 and the bottom 7 are made as independent parts from sheet metal blanks and welded together along their abutting edges and abutting surfaces.
  • At least the transverse edges of the longitudinal walls 3 and 4 and / or the end walls 5 and 6 that meet to form the box body can have angled overlap sections, which facilitate the production of welded connections between adjacent sheet metal blanks.
  • the actual connection welds between the longitudinal walls 3 and 4 and the end walls 5 and 6, however, are provided or arranged so that they extend along the upright box edges.
  • stacking edges 8 which are offset in an angular manner, run both along the two longitudinal walls 3 and 4 and along the two end walls 5 and 6, which are particularly evident in FIGS. 3 to 6 of the drawing, but only hinted at in FIGS. 1 to 2 you can see.
  • These stacking edges 8 are each formed by approximately Z-shaped profiled folding sections, which are located on the lower edge of the longitudinal walls 3 and 4 and the end walls 5 and 6 and which can be clearly seen from FIGS. 4 and 6.
  • the box opening 9 is also delimited by angularly offset stacking edges 10, which form the actual opening edge and are located both on the longitudinal walls 3 and 4 and on the end walls 5 and 6, as is clearly shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and 4 and 6 will be shown.
  • the stacking edge 10 also passes into a step 11 facing the inside of the box body 2, the height 12 of this step 11 being matched to the height 13 of the Z-shaped profile of the bottom stacking edges 8 that the latter in the area of the end walls 5 and 6 can be supported primarily on the step 11 if a plurality of box units are stacked to form a stack.
  • the bottom 7 of the box body 2 has a stiffening profile 14, for example a transverse profile, which is formed, for example, by waves or alternately adjacent trapezoidal channels 15 and trapezoidal bumps 16, such as the 4 clearly shows.
  • the height of the transverse profiling 14 of the base 7 is dimensioned such that it does not exceed the height 13 of the stacking edges 8 which are approximately Z-shaped in cross section, but is completely absorbed by this clear height within the box body (cf. FIG. 4).
  • the sections of the trapezoidal troughs 15 resting on the inward-facing Z-flange of the Z-profile 8 forming the stacking edges 8 are hereby firmly and securely connected at least by spot welds.
  • the box body 2 formed from welded sheet metal blanks, it is essential that horizontally extending channels 17 and 18 are formed at a distance below the stacking edges 8 delimiting the box opening 9 in the longitudinal walls 3 and 4, which channels 19 and 20 of a lifting fork 21 can be used, as is provided on a hoist which is useful for handling the transport and / or storage boxes 1.
  • the tines 19 and 20 of the lifting fork 21 are only hinted at in FIG. 9 of the drawing.
  • Edge area 23 or 24 of the longitudinal walls 3 or 4 is double-walled, for example as a rectangular tube cross-section, as that of FIG. 2, but can be seen particularly clearly from FIG. 6 of the drawing.
  • the broad side of the rectangular tube section of the edge regions 23 and 24 extends in the vertical direction and thereby results in a particularly high rigidity against undesired deflection.
  • the edge regions 23 and 24 are formed by corresponding folds of the sheet metal blanks forming the longitudinal walls 3 and 4, the fold region located on the inside of the respective longitudinal wall 3 and 4 having a width which is not only greater than the profile height of the double-walled edge region 23 or 24 extends, but also across the entire width of the underlying channel 17 and 18. In the area of the respective bottom of the channels 17 and 18 there is therefore also a double-wall which serves for stiffening. This stiffening can be increased by the fact that a large number of welded connections, for example spot welds, are produced across the adjoining surface areas.
  • Fig. 1 to 4 of the drawing it can be seen that on the two end walls 5 and 6 of the box body 2 at least the upper edge region 25 and 26 has a double-walled design, each by folding sections 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 is formed.
  • the chamfer sections 27, 28, 29 and 30 adjacent to the box opening 9 form the stack edge 10 on the one hand and the step 28 adjoining the inside of the box on the other hand, which can support the bottom stack edge 8 of a next box unit in a supporting manner when stacking several box units.
  • the chamfer section 31 that of the edge region 25 or 26, on the other hand is shaped such that it lies on the same plane with the end wall 5 or 6 carrying it and forms the actual outer wall of the double-walled edge region 25 or 26.
  • the free lower edge 32 of the bent section 31 lies at least approximately at the same height as the upper boundary 22 of the grooves 17 and 18 formed in the longitudinal walls 3 and 4.
  • the lower edge 32 of the bent section 31 preferably projects somewhat downward beyond this upper boundary 22, as can be clearly seen in FIGS. 3 and 4.
  • the end walls 5 and 6 are provided at the same height with the lower boundary 33 of the channels 17 and 18 provided in the longitudinal walls 3 and 4 with a step 34 which is bent horizontally inwards and which is integral in the inner wall of the double-walled edge region 25 and 26 forming bend section 27 passes.
  • a free space 35 is created over the entire width of the box body between the lower edge 32 of the bent section 31 forming the outer wall of the double-walled edge regions 25 and 26, respectively, and the step 34. From this free space 35, the lower edge 32 of the folded portion 31 can be gripped with one hand and thus used as a handle for the transport and / or storage box 1. To avoid hand injuries, it is important to provide the outer lower edge 32 of the double-walled edge region 25 or 26 with a bead 36 that is rolled or folded inward like a bead, as can be clearly seen in FIGS. 3 and 4 of the drawing.
  • the outside and downwardly open, double-walled edge region 25 and 26 of the two end walls 5 and 6 can be stabilized or stiffened by inserting in these crossbars 37 and then welding them to the bent sections 27 and 31.
  • the crossbars 37 can be seen in FIGS. 2, 4 and 6 of the drawing.
  • crossbars 37 used to stiffen or stabilize the double-walled edge regions 25 and 26 are part of flat material angles 38 or of flat material U-pieces 39, then it is important that those on the underside of step 11 or on the bent portion 28 to provide for angled legs or U-piece webs for stiffening purposes with notches 43 which correspond in their dimensions to the passages 42 and which have a covering position with these. It is then achieved that the expandable holding claws 41 of the gripper bars 40 or the like can interact with the stiffening elements containing the notches 43.
  • the flat material angles 38 or flat material U-pieces 39 can also be inserted into the double-walled edge regions 25 and 26 of the end walls 5 and 6 in such a way that their sections or regions containing the notches 43 in the Come to lie near the flange 36.
  • the notches 43 with the passages 42 above them in the step 11 or in the bent section 28 have a covering position, relatively long lifting shafts are formed for the interaction with the vertical gripper bars 40, which act as a connection between the respective transport and / or storage box 1 can significantly improve with the hoist used for its handling.
  • stiffening profiles 56 arranged inside the box body 2 and extending in the upward direction. These stiffening profiles 56 extend over the height area in the box body between the bottom 7 and the lower boundary 33 of the channels 17 and 18 provided in the longitudinal walls 3 and 4 or the bevelled step 34 of the end walls 5 and 6.
  • the stiffening profiles 56 are at least each welded along one of their longitudinal edges to one of the longitudinal walls 3 or 4 and one of the end walls 5 or 6 and form corner stiffeners which counteract a bulging or bulging of the box body 2 under the action of vertical stresses.
  • a stiffening profile 56 can be seen spatially in FIG. 10 and in a sectional top view in FIG.
  • This stiffening profile is provided with six profile sections 57, 58, 59, 60, 61 and 62, each oriented orthogonally or at right angles to one another and, as a result, has a three-stage cross section, as it were, which can be clearly seen in FIG. 11.
  • the two outer profile sections 57 and 62 are directed away from one another at a right angle and form longitudinal flanges on the stiffening profile 56, which can be fastened, for example welded, to the longitudinal wall 3 and to the end wall 6 of the box body 2.
  • the four remaining profile sections 58, 59, 60 and 61 form intermediate webs or bent sections which, together with the longitudinal wall 3 and the end wall 6, delimit a channel or cavity 63 which is angular in cross section, as can be clearly seen in FIG. 11 of the drawing.
  • the stiffening profile 56 is preferably formed by a folded profile made of sheet metal, in which of the five folds 66, 67, 68, 69, 70 of the three-stage cross section, the folds 66, 67 and 70 run parallel to one another, while the two further folds 68 and 69 assume an inclined or inclined position, as clearly shown in FIG. 10 see is. Relative to each other, however, the two bevels 68 and 69 again run parallel. What is achieved by this configuration is that the two profile sections or chamfer sections 59 and 61 adjacent to the inclined or inclined bends 68 and 69 have a trapezoidal area boundary, which are opposed to one another with their tapering.
  • the dimensions of the profile or chamfer sections 58, 59, 60 and 61 of the stiffening profile 56, which has a three-stage cross section, are at the lower end, that is to say in the region of the transverse edge 64, essentially from the profile width of the base on the longitudinal wall 3 and the end wall 6 of the box body 2 adjoining stack edges 8 determines, as can be clearly seen from FIG.
  • the dimensions of the corresponding chamfer sections 58, 59, 60, 61 at the upper end of the stiffening profile 56 that is to say in the region of the transverse edge 65, essentially from the profile depth of the channels 17 and 18 in the longitudinal walls 3 and 4 and from the profile width of the Level 34 specified on the end walls 5 and 6.
