Definitions

  • the invention relates to a wheelchair according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • EP 0 312 969 A2 discloses a wheelchair of the type in question, in which all the profiles forming the frame have a solid cross section and each have T-grooves on the inside and offset on the outside, into which heads of connecting screws engage, with which the individual frame parts are articulated and slidably connected to each other. Only the connection between the longitudinal frame profile and the rear profile is not articulated, but can be moved. To adjust the seat geometry, it is necessary in this known wheelchair to loosen all screws, including those at the articulation points, so that all parts can be freely pivoted and moved relative to one another. After adjustment, the screws are tightened so that a frictional connection is made.
  • the construction of the frame is particularly heavy and complex, and the adjustment is complicated.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a wheelchair of the type in question, which is light, the seat geometry is easy to adjust and which is safe to use.
  • the profiles consist of tubes and therefore give maximum rigidity with the lowest weight.
  • the connection between the longitudinal frame tube and the front tube is fixed, ie rigid. This means that there is no possibility of adjustment compared to the known wheelchair, but this possibility of adjustment is unnecessary since it can also be taken over by the other adjustment options.
  • the rigid connection eliminates a source of danger by loosening a frictional connection, which also makes the frame much stiffer overall.
  • the rigid connection can be made by a fixed connection of the front tubes to the longitudinal frame tubes, for example by welding, or in that each front tube has a pipe socket that stretches backwards and can be inserted and detachably connected to the longitudinal frame tube in the longitudinal frame tube.
  • the solution according to the invention has a swivel-joint connection between the perches and the rear tubes of the frame, which comprises a tab which is fixedly connected to the tube and which is located in one end Groove of the tube is arranged and has an elongated hole in which a bolt is passed transversely through the groove.
  • This construction is particularly simple, and the frictional force on the tab is relatively large, so that the connection is extremely angularly rigid after adjustment of the frame.
  • the rotary push connection absorbs changes in distance that can result between the upper end of the front tubes and the rear tubes.
  • An expedient development consists in that the pipe sockets can be connected to the longitudinal frame tubes with the aid of at least one of the screws provided for fastening the brackets to the longitudinal frame tubes. With these screws, the brackets for the front wheels and the pipe sockets with the longitudinal frame tubes are firmly connected to each other at the same time.
  • the drawing shows part of a wheelchair 2 with a frame 4, on which a backrest 6 with a back bracket 8, a seat 10 with a seat bracket 12 and a footrest 14 are arranged.
  • the backrest 6 is designed to be foldable forward with the aid of lockable joints 16.
  • the backrest can also be rigid.
  • the frame has two side parts 18, 20 with downwardly extending tubes 22, on each of which there is a holder 24 with a sliding bush 26.
  • Each bracket 24 carries a frame longitudinal tube 25 and is designed as a clamping device which can be clamped to the tube 22 with the aid of screws 28. By loosening the screws 28, the height of the bracket can be adjusted continuously.
  • a rear axle bracket 30 is arranged to be horizontally continuously displaceable.
  • the two rear axle brackets are connected to one another by a rigid rear axle 32. This rear axle can also be dispensed with.
  • the rear axle brackets are also designed as clamping devices and are clamped onto the longitudinal frame tubes 25 with the aid of screws 34.
  • the rear axle brackets 30 each have a holding part 36 for a wheel axle mounting device 38.
  • the holding parts 36 are also designed as clamping devices which are each provided with a clamping screw 40 for loosening and fixing the wheel axle receiving devices 38.
  • the wheel axle receptacles 38 are provided with an oblique bore 42 (indicated by dashed lines) arranged at a predetermined angle with respect to the rear axle 32 for setting a negative wheel camber.
  • the oblique bores 42 serve to receive the rear wheel axles 44, on which hubs 46 of rear wheels 48 are mounted.
  • the rear wheel axles 44 can be designed as screw or thru axles.
  • the seat 10 of the wheelchair faces from the tubes 22 extending forward seat tubes 50, each of which is rotatably connected to one of the tubes 22 via an articulated connection 52.
  • the axis of rotation 54 of the articulated connection 52 is arranged in an elongated hole 56 of a tab 57 located on the tube 22, which protrudes into a groove formed in the tube, so that the articulated connection 52 not only rotates, but also a limited longitudinal or thrust movement of the Seat tube 50 allows.
  • the front ends of the perches 50 are connected via a pivot 58 with pivot pins 59 to front tubes 60 which extend downwards.
  • the front tubes 60 have a tube connection piece 62 pointing backwards, which is inserted into the longitudinal tube 25 of the frame.
  • the ends of the foot support tube are inserted into the lower ends of the front tubes 60 and can be fixed by means of clamping screws 64.
  • Front wheel brackets 66 are attached in the area of the front ends of the longitudinal frame tubes 25.
  • Each front wheel holder 66 has a control head tube 68, which serves to receive and mount a fork 70 of a front wheel 72, and a fastening part 74, which is fixedly connected to the control head tube, for connection to the longitudinal frame tube 25.
  • Two clamping screws 76 and 78 are used to fasten the front wheel holder 66, one of which connects the fastening part 74 to the longitudinal frame tube 25 and the other connects the front wheel holder in the area of the control head tube 68 to the longitudinal frame tube 25, cf. 2 and 3 in particular.
  • the screw 76 is located in an arcuate slot 80, which allows a certain rotation of the control head tube 68 around the screw 78 as a fulcrum after loosening the screws 76 and 78. This enables a certain readjustment of the control head tube, which should always be arranged vertically.
  • One or both clamping screws 76, 78 serve at the same time for fixing the pipe socket 62 of the front pipe 60 in the longitudinal frame pipe 25, cf. Fig. 3.
  • the front tubes 60 can be detached from the seat tubes 50 and the longitudinal frame tubes 25 via the swivel joint 58 and the plug connection in the region of the tube socket 62 and can therefore be exchanged as desired.
  • the front tube 60 can also be firmly connected to the frame tube 25, which, however, eliminates the interchangeability.
  • the front wheel holder 66 can be adjusted in stages along the longitudinal frame tube 25 by providing further bores 82 in the longitudinal frame tube 25, cf. 1 and 2.
  • the reference numeral 84 denotes stop screws on the backrest joint, with which the backrest inclination can be adjusted.
  • the longitudinal frame tubes 25 can be bent slightly downwards in the front area outside the horizontal adjustment range of the rear axle brackets 30.
  • the rear axle 32 can also be arranged below the longitudinal frame tubes 25 by appropriately repositioning the rear axle brackets 30, as is shown schematically in FIG. 2, whereby a change in seat height can be achieved in a simple manner.
  • the frame longitudinal tubes 25 are adjusted in height, and thus the rear wheels 48 are adjusted in height at the same time. Since the front wheels 72 are also adjusted accordingly at the same time, readjustment of the front wheels is not necessary.
  • the backrest 6 always remains in the predetermined, originally set position, since an inclination of the frame does not occur due to the height adjustment.
  • Adjustment of the preset negative camber of the rear wheels as a result of any influences can be compensated for individually for each wheel by rotating the wheel axle receptacles 38.
