Definitions
- the invention relates to a insulation displacement sleeve contact for contacting a cable core transverse to the sleeve axis, in particular for cable cores in telecommunications, from a metallic sleeve jacket with a clamping slot for the insulated cable core and with an insulation displacement contact slot inside the sleeve for stripping-free connection of the cable core and to a method for producing the insulation displacement contact.
- An insulation displacement contact of the generic type is previously known from DE 37 09 376 C1.
- jacket pieces are cut out of the metallic sleeve jacket and bent into the interior of the sleeve as a contact leg to form the insulation displacement contact slot.
- the clamping slot for holding the insulated cable core is through the end edges of the round, oval or polygonal sleeve body formed at a short distance.
- the disadvantage here is that widening the clamping slot for the insulated cable wire also causes widening of the insulation displacement contact slot for stripping-free connection of the cable wire.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to improve an insulation displacement contact of the generic type in such a way that an influence on the insulation displacement contact slot is prevented by widening of the clamping slot and that the production of the contact slot with narrow tolerances is possible.
- the invention provides that a portion of the sleeve shell is bent radially into the interior of the sleeve and is provided with the insulation displacement contact slot and that the clamping slot opposite the insulation displacement contact slot is cut into the sleeve jacket.
- both the insulation displacement contact slot and the clamping slot are each formed by incisions in the sleeve jacket, as a result of which exact tolerances in the formation of the clamping slot and insulation displacement contact slot can be maintained.
- the insulation displacement contact slot is located on a section of the sleeve shell which is unaffected by a possible widening of the clamping slot.
- the insulation displacement sleeve contact is formed from a metal strip into which the clamping slot and the contact slot are cut before bending to the sleeve contact, in particular by stamping. A cutting point with a sharp edge can be punched out at the same time.
- the final sleeve shape of the insulation displacement contact made by bending and rolling up.
- the section of the sleeve casing which receives the insulation displacement contact slot can be formed in an e-shaped embodiment as the end piece of the sleeve casing and can be bent radially into the interior of the sleeve.
- the section receiving the insulation displacement contact slot forms a middle piece of the sleeve shell, the end pieces of the sleeve connecting the clamping slot and also the cutting point, which are connected to the middle section, are bent semicircularly and in opposite directions from the straight middle piece.
- the insulation displacement contact can be mounted alone on a printed circuit board or used in a wiring strip together with a contact of the same type or with completely different ones as connection or disconnection configurations will.
- the cable wires are simultaneously clamped in the clamping slot by means of a pressure movement, contacted in the insulation displacement contact slot and cut off at the sharp cutting point.
- the wiring can be done with a tool or by closing a housing cover of a housing in which the insulation displacement contact is inserted. This can also be called a round pipe contact.
- the sleeve contact is self-supporting and does not require a housing to support or clamp the cable wires and can, for example, be mounted directly on a circuit board.
- the clamping slot of the sleeve contact enables the cable core to be securely clamped without movements of the cable core having an effect on, or being transmitted to, the insulation displacement contact slot.
- the cable wires to be connected do not have to be cut to a certain length beforehand, but are cut off directly at the sleeve contact using a simple wiring tool without moving parts when wiring at the sharp cutting point.
- the sleeve contact enables reliable contacting of copper wires between 0.32 mm and 0.80 mm in diameter, which depends on the diameter of the sleeve contact. It is also possible to contact stranded wires.
- the position of the contact slot in relation to the cable core can be a forked or angular position with contact angles between 45 and 90 °.
- the insulation displacement contact in the first embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of a flat metal strip 1 of an electrically conductive material, in which, according to FIG. 2, a contact slot 2 on the left and a clamping slot 3 on the right and a cutting point 4 in the middle by punching are introduced in one operation.
- the contact slot 2 has a certain width W, which depends on the core diameter of the cable wires 5 to be connected, and is provided with a V-shaped input area 6.
- the clamping point consists of a clamping slot 3 of width Z, which is regularly larger than the width W of the contact slot 2, and is also provided with a V-shaped input area 7.
- a U-shaped free cut 9 is punched into the metal strip 1, the base 10 of which intersects at right angles at the inner end of the clamping slot 3 and its leg 11 parallel to the clamping slot 3 in the direction of whose input area 7 extend, as shown in Fig. 2.
- the metal strip 1 is bent or rolled into a sleeve body 12 which is round in cross section, a portion 13, which in FIG. 2 is shown by the dashed line 14 from the remaining sleeve jacket 15 is divided, is bent radially into the interior of the sleeve body 12, as shown in Fig. 1 is.
- the contact slot 2 lies in the center of the sleeve body 12 and is oriented at an angle ⁇ to the transverse axis 16 of the sleeve body 12.
- the clamping slot 3 and the cutting point 4 are arranged opposite this, as shown in Fig. 1.
- This embodiment of the insulation displacement contact forms an e-shape with an insulation displacement contact slot 2 oriented at an angle ⁇ obliquely to the axis 17 of the cable wire 5 to be connected, the cable wire 5 lying in the direction of the axis 17 (FIG. 1).
- the section 13 receiving the contact slot 2 is not connected to the sleeve jacket 12 at the free end 18, as is shown in FIG. 1.
- FIGS. 3 to 12 show embodiments modified from the e-shape shown in FIG. 1.
- Figures 3 and 4 show a pure fork contact, the portion 13 of the sleeve shell 12 is arranged exactly in the transverse axis 16, so that the contact slot 2 is parallel to the perpendicular axis 17, as shown in Fig. 3.
- the insulation displacement contact according to FIG. 4 corresponds to that shown in FIG. 3 and is only bent or rolled in the opposite direction.
- the insulation displacement contact shown in FIG. 5 corresponds to that of FIG. 1, the angle ⁇ being specified as 70 °.
- the insulation displacement contact according to FIG. 6 corresponds to that of FIG. 5 and is only bent or rolled in the opposite direction.
- the insulation displacement contacts shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 have an angle ⁇ of 45 °, at which the part 13 bent into the interior of the sleeve body 12 is bent relative to the axis 17 of the cable core 5.
- the radial length of the section 13 corresponds to the inside diameter of the sleeve body 12.
- the length of the section 13 'bent into the interior of the sleeve body 12 is longer than the inside diameter of the sleeve body 12, receptacles in the form of an opening 19 (FIG. 9) or in the form of a bulge 20 (FIG. 10) are provided for the lateral support of the radial section 13 '. Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 2
- Fig. 3 bis 12
- verschiedene Ausführungsformen des e-förmigen Hülsenkontaktes und
