Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device, in particular for medical purposes, with a carrier plate and, connected thereto, diametrically arranged piercing mandrels through which two flow channels are guided.
  • a device is referred to in technical terminology, for example, as a transfer spike or transfer device.
  • the field of application for the present invention is in particular medical technology.
  • a first container which holds the liquid, in particular a bottle or a bag
  • a second Container in particular a container holding a substance to be dissolved, in particular a bottle or a bag.
  • the medical device with the piercing spikes is inserted into the sealing plugs, each of which seals the two containers and is made of rubber or the like, i.e. the sealing plugs are pierced by means of the piercing spikes, so that a flow connection between the two containers is created via one of the two flow channels, while the other flow channel serves to equalize the pressure between the two containers.
  • the liquid-receiving container is held upward, so that the liquid can pass into the container to be dissolved, the air in this container flows through the venting channel into the empty container.
  • the device with the emptied container was separated from the now filled container and the dissolved substance was removed by means of a syringe provided with a cannula.
  • the plug of the container had to be pierced by the cannula.
  • the additional cannula with protective cap and separate packaging mean that additional effort is required to remove the dissolved substance from the container.
  • Additional manipulations using a separate cannula and inserting the same into the rubber stopper of the container deliver additional particles and fragments of the dissolved substance.
  • the same cannula is used for the patient that was previously used to pierce the rubber stopper of the container.
  • a device for transferring liquids for the purpose of dissolving a substance
  • a device is known, see, for example, EP-A-0 426 403, which has two piercing mandrels into which the two flow channels are integrated, this device being made entirely of plastic.
  • a device which has four Has piercing mandrels, with two piercing mandrels arranged diametrically to one another being assigned a flow channel for the liquid transfer or the venting.
  • the spikes consist of metal, so that the spikes are cannulas.
  • the device has a shut-off element cooperating with one of the flow channels, which releases the flow through the flow channel in an open position and blocks the flow through the flow channel in a blocking position, with a liquid removal channel of the device in in the blocking position Flow connection with a section of the flow channel open to a piercing tip, and the liquid removal channel opens into a connecting piece.
  • the mixing of different liquids that is to say at a point in time at which a connection of the two containers through two flow channels is no longer necessary, at least one flow channel of the shut-off element, wherein the shut-off element in the locked position establishes a flow connection between a section of the flow channel that is open to a puncture tip and a liquid removal channel of the device, through which the dissolved liquid can then be removed.
  • the liquid extraction channel itself opens into a connection piece, which is designed in particular as a connection canoe, for syringes or transfer systems. It goes without saying that the liquid extraction channel can also open into several connecting pieces.
  • the advantage of the invention is therefore that a separate cannula with the problem of additional particles by pushing through the rubber stopper is not necessary. This saves additional packaging, disposal, handling and costs. At the same time, the invention precludes the user from using the same cannula for the rubber stopper as for the patient.
  • shut-off element interacts only with one flow channel
  • the other flow channel remains open in the locked position of the shut-off element.
  • a backflow of the dissolved liquid from the container located at the top when the dissolved liquid is removed into the empty container below is excluded because the air in this container cannot flow out because of the section of the flow channel which is closed by the shut-off element and is assigned to the empty container.
  • shut-off element also interacts with the other flow channel, the shut-off element opening the flow through the other flow channel in the open position and blocking the flow through the other flow channel in the blocking position, with an outward position in the blocking position open ventilation channel of the device in flow connection with a section of the other flow channel open to a puncture syringe of the associated piercing mandrel.
  • the shut-off element With the shut-off element, the sections of the two flow channels opening into the lower, empty container can thus be completely shut off, and liquid can be removed when the valve is ventilated via the channel sections of the two flow channels assigned to the upper container holding the dissolved substance, as well as the liquid removal channel and the ventilation channel emptying container instead.
  • the device expediently has two diametrically arranged piercing pins.
  • the outlet openings of the one flow channel in the area of the piercing tip of the one piercing mandrel should be arranged at a distance from the piercing tip of the other piercing mandrel, and the outlet openings of the other flow channel should be arranged in the area of the piercing tip of the other piercing mandrel and spaced from the piercing tip of the one piercing mandrel.
  • the device is to be connected to the two containers in such a way that after the substance has been released, that is to say before the dissolved substance has been removed, the liquid removal channel is assigned to the section of the flow channel whose outlet opening is lower than the outlet opening of the associated other flow channel.
  • the piercing spikes should extend perpendicular to the plane of the carrier plate, which is usually the main plane thereof.
  • the shut-off element is designed as a slide element which is slidably mounted in the carrier plate, the slide element having two through bores which form channel sections of the two flow channels in the open position of the slide element, and furthermore the slide element forms the liquid removal channel and has the ventilation channel which, in the blocking position, comes into flow connection with the flow channel sections of a piercing mandrel.
  • the sections of the flow channels leading to the lower, empty container are blocked in the blocking position of the blocking element and the liquid is removed from the upper container or its container Ventilation only via the channel sections of the two flow channels assigned to the upper container and the liquid extraction channel and the ventilation channel.
  • a special embodiment of the invention provides that the slide element assumes its blocking position in the inserted position. If one assumes that a syringe for removing the dissolved liquid is primarily connected to the connecting piece of the slide element and that the connecting piece is oriented in the sliding direction of the slide element, the transfer of the slide element into its locked position can be accomplished by a pronounced insertion movement of the syringe into the connecting piece .
  • a second embodiment of the principle of the invention described at the outset provides that the shut-off element is designed as a tap with two T passages, with a first and a second outlet of the respective passage in the open position of the tap being in flow connection with one of the flow channels of the piercing pins and the third Outlet is closed by the carrier plate, and in the blocking position of the tap, the first outlet of the respective passage is closed by the carrier plate and the second and the third outlet of the respective passage are in flow communication with the channel section of a piercing mandrel and the liquid extraction channel or the ventilation channel.
  • the connection between the container to be emptied and the liquid extraction channel or the ventilation channel is effected by turning the valve into its locked position.
  • the tap has two T-passages, but in principle it would be sufficient to provide one T-passageway which can be brought into operative connection with the flow channel serving for the withdrawal of liquid, while the other passage is straight could be so that it blocks the assigned flow channel when the valve is in the blocking position and thus does not allow ventilation of the container from which the dissolved substance can be removed.
  • the dissolved substance would have to be removed from the assigned container against increasing negative pressure. A pressure equalization would be possible after removing the syringe from the connector after swiveling the container downwards beforehand.
  • a third embodiment of the principle of the invention described in the introduction provides that a valve is integrated into the liquid removal channel, in particular a lip valve, which allows a flow through the liquid removal channel to the connecting piece when a negative pressure is applied to the connecting piece side.
  • the liquid removal channel is integrated into the shut-off element, which is also designed as a slide element, and when the slide element is in the blocking position, this interrupts the passage through the assigned flow channel, so that a flow path from the other section of this flow channel through the liquid removal channel and thus when a negative pressure is applied through the valve is possible is.
  • the valve closes off the assigned flow channel in the area of the connecting piece.
  • a fourth embodiment of the principle of the invention described at the outset provides that the connecting piece serves to receive the shut-off element in the form of a conical extension of a syringe or other disposable system, the device wall forming the flow channel at the level of the connecting piece on the opposite side being essentially vertical to the flow path arranged paragraph, which contacts the approach introduced into the connecting piece, such that the approach blocks the flow path to a channel section and opens a flow connection between the flow path to the other channel section and the syringe / disposable system, with the syringe removed by a Cap is closed.
  • a basic, preferred embodiment provides that a filter is integrated in those configurations in which there is a liquid extraction channel and / or a ventilation channel.
  • Figures 1a, 1b and 1c illustrate the problem underlying the invention.
  • a substance in a first container, the bottle 1 is to be dissolved by means of a liquid in the second container, the bottle 2, in the present case water, and the dissolved substance is then removed from the bottle 1 by means of the device 3 according to the invention.
  • Figure 1a shows the device 3 in a highly simplified representation. It has a carrier plate 4 in which a shut-off element 5 designed as a slide is located in the region of the carrier plate 4 is shown in dashed lines, is displaceable in the direction of the double arrows B.
  • the carrier plate 4 On the top and underside, the carrier plate 4 has two piercing mandrels 6 and 7 or 8 and 9 in the form of metal cannulas, the long piercing mandrel 6 being aligned with the short piercing mandrel 8 and the short piercing mandrel 7 being aligned with the long piercing mandrel 9 and thus also the flow channels formed by the piercing mandrels 6 to 9, which cannot be removed from this FIG.
  • the shut-off element 5 also has two through bores 10 and 11, which are aligned with the flow channels of the piercing pins 6 and 8 or 7 and 9 in the extended position of the shut-off element representing the open position. Furthermore, the shut-off element 5 is provided with a liquid removal channel 12 and a ventilation channel 13 which, when the position representing the blocking position of the shut-off element 5 is pushed in, come into connection with the section of the flow channel of the piercing mandrel 6 or the piercing mandrel 7 and the flow channel sections of the piercing mandrels 8 and 9 shut off.
  • the arrangement described so far works as follows:
  • the water-containing bottle 2 is held upwards, so that the water can pass through the short piercing mandrel 7, the through hole 11 and the piercing mandrel 9 into the lower bottle 1 containing the substance to be dissolved, while the bottle 1 corresponds to the filling state in this air through the piercing mandrel 8, the through hole 10 and the long piercing mandrel 6 into the bottle 2.
  • the syringe attachment 17 of a dispensing syringe 18, which is only partially shown, is inserted into a connecting piece 16 in fluid communication with the liquid channel 12, the shut-off element being due to the insertion movement 5 is immediately transferred to the locked position.
  • This state is shown in the illustration in FIG. 1b.
  • the liquid removal channel 12 is thus in flow connection with the piercing mandrel 8, while the ventilation channel 13 is connected to the piercing mandrel 9.
  • the carrier plate 4 with the two bottles 1 and 2 is pivoted about the longitudinal axis of the dispensing syringe 18 by 180 °, so that the bottle 1, which is in water contains dissolved substance, is arranged above, and the empty bottle 2 below.
  • the withdrawal syringe 18 is pulled out, the liquid containing the substance can be removed from the bottle 1 through the short piercing mandrel 8 and the liquid removal channel 12, and air can enter the bottle 1 through the ventilation channel 13 and the long piercing mandrel 9. This state is shown in Figure 1c.
  • the disposable syringe 18 is to be replaced by another one, this can be done, for example, by moving the arrangement into the position according to FIG. 1b before removing the syringe and pivoting the position of FIG. 1c back after the next syringe has been attached.
  • FIGS. 2a and 2b show a modified design of the device 3 according to the invention using a shut-off element 5 designed as a slide.
  • the device 3 consists entirely of plastic.
  • Two diametrically arranged piercing pins 19 and 20 are directly connected to the carrier plate 4, through which the two flow channels 21 and 22 are guided. These flow channels 21 are in the open position shown in FIG. 2a and 22 in flow connection with the through bores 10 and 11 of the shut-off element 5.
  • the piercing mandrel 19 is inserted into the bottle 1 and the piercing mandrel 20 into the bottle 2, so that after the bottle 2 is upward is pivoted, the water can flow from the bottle 2 into the bottle 1 containing the substance to be dissolved.
  • the shut-off element 5 is moved into its locked position and then the arrangement is pivoted through 180 °, so that the bottle 1 containing the water and the substance is arranged at the top.
  • the position of the shut-off element 5 in this end position is shown in FIG. 2 b, according to which in the area of the piercing mandrel 19 the flow channel 21 is in fluid communication with the liquid removal channel 12 over the short channel length and the long channel length of the flow channel 22 via the ventilation channel 13 in the surrounding atmosphere lies.
  • a liquid filter 23 integrated into the shut-off element 5 is provided and, accordingly, an air filter 24 in the transition area between the ventilation channel 13 and the assigned section of the flow channel 22.
  • the liquid removal channel 12 opens into a connecting piece 25 for the Withdrawal syringe 18, further into a connecting piece 26 for a transfer system, not shown, which can be connected to the device 3 and thus to the overall arrangement.
  • the connecting pieces 25 and 26 can optionally be closed by means of caps 27.
  • Two locking elements 28 and 29 arranged on the shut-off element 5 serve to fix the shut-off element in its open position or locked position, in that one of the locking elements 28 or 29 engages in a recess 30 of the carrier plate.
  • the device 3 in accordance with the embodiment described above, has two piercing pins 19 and 20, but there the shut-off element 5 is designed as a tap with two T passages 31 and 32.
  • Each T passage 31 and 32 thus has three outputs 33, 34 and 35, respectively.
  • the bore sections of the T passages 31 and 32 located between the outlets 33 and 34 connect them to the flow channels 21 and 22, respectively, so that when the piercing pins 19 are inserted into the bottles 1 and 2, respectively or 20 overflow the water in the bottle 2 into the bottle 1 and thus can dissolve the substance therein.
  • the device 3 is shown in the relevant position of the shut-off element 5 in FIGS.
  • FIGS. 3b and 3d The blocking position is shown in FIGS. 3b and 3d, according to which the shut-off element 5 is rotated through 90 ° and thus a flow connection is formed between the section of the flow channel 21 assigned to the piercing mandrel 19 via the outlets 35 and 33 to the liquid removal channel 12.
  • the device 3 again has the two piercing mandrels 19 and 20 with the flow channels 21 and 22.
  • the shut-off element 5 designed as a slide is exclusively assigned to one flow channel, namely the flow channel 21.
