Description

The invention relates to a box according to the preamble of patent claim 1 for receiving screwdriver bits with associated chuck, which is arranged in a compartment running in the longitudinal direction of the box, transversely to which there are a plurality of screwdriver bits held in rows next to one another in insertion openings.

A box is known from EP-A-0 443 200, which is considered prior art under Art. 54 (3) EPC, in which the box housing accommodates an insert which can be moved along the longitudinal axis of the box. This insert has stop lugs on the one hand to limit the outward displacement of the insert and on the other hand a handle serving as a closure cap for the narrow side of the box in the closed position of the box. Beyond its longitudinal axis, the insert has receptacles arranged parallel to it for a plurality of screwdriver bits and a holder for an associated chuck. The individual receptacles for the screwdriver bits are aligned transversely to the longitudinal axis and designed as a spring holder to hold the screwdriver bits securely. On the side of the longitudinal axis opposite these receptacles, the insert has a chuck holder, which is composed primarily of a mandrel and a clamp holder. The chuck is held on the one hand by the mandrel protruding into the screwdriver bit holder and on the other hand by the clamping bracket in the area of the hexagon of the chuck. This form of design has disadvantages with regard to the use of the box. One-handed operation is difficult due to the spring-loaded clamp holders of the screwdriver bits and the chuck. Furthermore, it is only possible to a limited extent to use this box as a table box, because the requirements for a table box, e.g. B. one-hand operation, stability etc. are not guaranteed.

Furthermore, a storage box for screwdriver bits is known from DE-U-89 13 207. Here, the screwdriver bits are in receiving chambers, which are formed by the lower part of the box.

A generic box is known from DE-U-89 14 050 ago. The sheet metal cassette disclosed there forms a pivotable insert in which there are a plurality of insertion openings for holding screwdriver bits. This box is closed by a sheet metal lid hinged to the lower part.

The object of the present invention is to design a generic box for accommodating screwdriver bits and associated chuck in a more economical manner.

This is solved by the invention specified in claim 1.

Die abhängigen Ansprüche stellen vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen dar.The dependent claims represent advantageous developments.

As a result of this configuration, a box is created which is optimally designed for use. This is achieved in that the compartment in which the chuck is arranged extends along the closure side of the lower part of a hinged lid-closed box half and the insertion openings are designed as holes in a strip running on the hinged lid side in the hinge axis such that the tips the screwdriver bits in a position parallel to the floor are secured against falling out of their insertion opening when the hinged lid is opened from the position parallel to the floor in an upright position by the inner compartment wall. Because of this configuration, one-handed operation is possible after opening the box. When the box is open, the screwdriver bits are aligned almost perpendicular to the bottom of the lower part and held in the insertion openings designed as holes. The inserts can now be pulled out of the insertion openings with one hand without resistance will. The one-hand removal also applies to the chuck, which only lies loosely in one compartment of the lower part, ie without a press fit. Due to the fact that both the screwdriver bits and the chuck can be removed from the box with one hand, this can also be used as a table box. It therefore offers a great advantage in terms of handling. When the box is closed, the screwdriver bits are secured against falling out of their insertion openings in that they are in a position parallel to the floor in this position and are supported with their free ends on the inside wall of the receiving compartment of the chuck. In a further embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, at least one transverse wall of the compartment is provided, which forms an insertion groove for the chuck for holding the free chuck end in a spaced position from the bottom of the lower part. This makes it easier to remove the chuck from the box compartment. The free chuck end protrudes beyond the transverse wall of the compartment. By pressing down the free chuck end in the direction of the bottom of the lower part, the chuck pivots about the pivot point in the region of the transverse wall, so that the chuck end facing away from the transverse wall protrudes from the compartment. The chuck can thus be easily removed from the box. In order to use the same box for two chuck variants, it is planned to insert two transverse walls into the chuck compartment at different distances from the lower part side wall. The box can now be used for two chucks of different sizes without structurally changing the box in the compartment. The storage of the chuck in the compartment of the box is optimized by a prismatic support for the chuck end facing away from the transverse wall at the bottom of the lower part. The chuck is now stored in a horizontal position, parallel to the bottom of the lower part. It is also possible to arrange two prismatic supports at different distances from the lower part side wall, to give the possibility to use the box for two different sized chucks. Another advantage is that the hinge pins originate uniformly from the end faces of the bar, which bar, as already mentioned, has the insertion openings for the screwdriver bits. The end areas of the bar are connected to the underside of the hinged cover via triangular corner walls, which ensures great stability of the hinged cover. Finally, it is a particular advantage that the bar occupies the longitudinal rear wall and a strip of the bottom surface of the lower part. The bottom of the lower part has a recess extending almost over the entire length of the bottom on the hinged lid hinge side. This recess is filled by a side wall of the bar in the closed position of the box. Another side wall of the bar forms the longitudinal rear wall of the box. In the open position, this longitudinal rear wall takes up the strip of the bottom surface in the region of the recess.

The box 1 shown consists of a lower part 2 and a hinged lid 3.

The lower part 2 has a base 4, from the narrow edges of which side walls 5, 6 and from one of its long sides an end wall 7 extend. The end wall 7 has a recess 8 in the center. The length of the side walls 5 and 6 is greater than the length of the narrow side of the floor 4. The area formed between the side wall sections 5 ', 6' projecting from the floor is referred to as the open space 9. In the side wall sections 5 ', 6' holes 10 are provided for receiving hinge pin 11 of the hinged cover 3. The bottom 4 is assigned a compartment wall 12 which runs parallel to the end wall 7 and extends between the inner sides of the side walls 5 and 6. The space between compartment wall 12 and the end wall 7 is used as compartment 13 for receiving a chuck 14. This chuck 14 is on the one hand in the area of its free chuck end 15, that is to say its hexagon, in an insertion groove 16 of a transverse wall 17 and on the other hand in the area of the end opposite the free chuck end 15 on a prismatic support 18 of an intermediate wall 19. The embedment groove 16 and the prismatic Pad 18 are aligned so that the longitudinal axis of the chuck 14 runs parallel to the end wall 7, ie in the longitudinal direction of the box 1 and parallel to the bottom 4 of the lower part 2. The transverse wall 17 is arranged in the middle of the compartment 13 between the compartment wall 12 and the end wall 7. Furthermore, on the side of the transverse wall 17 opposite the intermediate wall 19 a second transverse wall 20 and an intermediate wall 21 are provided. Both the transverse wall 20 and the intermediate wall 21 also extend between the compartment wall 12 and the end wall 7, the transverse wall 20 having an embedment 22 and the intermediate wall 21 having a prism-like support 23. The transverse wall 20 is arranged so that it lies at a distance from the free chuck end 15 of the chuck 14. This double formation of the transverse wall and the partition wall means that the box 1 can be equipped with two types of chucks without first changing the chuck receiving device in the area of the compartment 13.

An seinem freien Ende besitzt der Deckel 34 mittig einen Verschluß 35.The hinged lid 3 has a bar 24. The strip 24 is essentially cuboid in shape and has on its wider, inner broad side evenly spaced insertion holes 26 formed as holes 25. These insertion openings 26 extend from the surface of the inner broad side of the strip 24 almost to the rear broad side while maintaining a residual wall thickness . These insertion openings 26 take screwdriver bits 27 against tipping. The strip 24 also serves as a hinge axis 28, for which purpose the strip 24 on its end faces 29, 30 has the hinge pins 11 already mentioned which spring from the same material. In the area of these end faces 29, 30, triangular corner walls 31, 32 extend from the strip 24 and are connected to the underside 33 of a cover 34. At its free end, the cover 34 has a closure 35 in the middle.

When the box 1 is closed, the closure 35 engages behind a corresponding bead in the region of the recess 8 in the end wall 7. The recess 8 serves for better handling when opening the box 1. The lid 34 lies between the side walls 5, 6 and the end wall 7. The broad side of the strip 24 opposite the insertion openings 26 forms the longitudinal rear wall 36. The narrow side 37 of the strip 24 opposite the cover 34 forms the extension of the bottom 4 of the lower part 2 in the area of the free area 9. The screwdriver bits 27 are held in the insertion openings 26 and are in a position parallel to the floor, with the tips of the screwdriver bits 27 lying at a short distance from the side of the compartment wall 12 facing them. They are thus secured against falling out of their insertion openings 26.

To open the box 1, the hinged lid 3 is pivoted in the axis x formed by the hinge pins 11 and the strip 24 by approximately 90 °. The screwdriver bits 27 previously lying in a receiving compartment 38 formed by the strip 24, the side walls 5, 6 and the compartment wall 12 are now in an almost vertical position. The narrow side 37 of the strip 24 opposite the cover 34 now forms the end of the receiving compartment 38. The longitudinal rear wall 36 of the hinged cover 3 assumes the extension of the bottom surface of the lower part 2, due to the fact that the height of the longitudinal rear wall 36 is greater than the depth of the free surface 9 of the base 4, part of the longitudinal rear wall 36 fills the free surface 9 and the other part forms an extension of the base 4.

Figur 12 und Figur 13).The chuck 14 is removed in the simplest manner. By pressing down in the direction of arrow P of the free chuck end 15 in the direction of the bottom 4, the end opposite the free chuck 15 is shifted upward around the insertion groove 16 forming a tipping point (cf. FIG. 12 and FIG. 13).

The end of the chuck 14 which now protrudes from the lower part 2 can now be gripped easily and the chuck 14 can be removed.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 14, only the chuck 14 is replaced by a chuck 39. The box 1 is the same as in the previously described first exemplary embodiment, the advantage of the double arrangement of the transverse wall and the intermediate wall in the compartment 13 having an effect here. The chuck 39, which is smaller in comparison to the chuck 14, lies with its hexagon in the region of the transverse wall 20 in the storage groove 22. A further support is found in the area opposite the hexagon in the prismatic support 23 of the intermediate wall. Here too, the free chuck end 40 lies at a distance in front of the transverse wall 17. By simply pressing this free chuck end 14 in the direction of the floor 4, this chuck 39 is also displaced about the insertion groove 22 forming a tipping point, the end of the chuck end 14 opposite the free end Chuck 39 swings out of the lower part 2 for removal.

In both embodiments, it is particularly advantageous that in the open position of box 1, screwdriver bits 27 or a chuck 14, 39 can be removed with one hand. Furthermore, the box 1 has a high level of stability, so that the box 1 described also meets the requirements of a table box.
