Definitions

  • the invention relates to a drainage system for a roadway laterally delimited by a curb according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a so-called drainage asphalt is known as a road surface that fulfills two functions. On the one hand, noise pollution from traffic is reduced and, on the other hand, it enables direct drainage of the road surface, which increases traffic safety (aquaplaning).
  • the drainage of the road surface when using drainage asphalt depends on the proportion of pores, which in turn depends on the grain composition of the aggregates. It is usually between 15 and 25%.
  • a direct infiltration through the drainage asphalt is not possible because of the almost waterproof asphalt binder layer below the drainage asphalt in the ground. Since a contamination of the water to be discharged cannot be ruled out, this possibility is also not sought. Above all, there is a risk that the water will impair the load-bearing function of the base layer.
  • the invention has for its object to provide drainage for a roadway provided with a water-permeable drainage layer, which can be easily installed and effectively removes both the surface water entering the drainage layer and when the drainage capacity is exhausted.
  • the known water-permeable strip along the curb is formed by an edge section of the drainage layer, which is supported by a foundation.
  • the channel elements forming the channel are shaped so that on the one hand they have lateral (horizontal) openings which are aligned with the edge section. On the other hand, they have upper (vertical) openings at approximately the height of the edge section, as a result of which surface water which has not penetrated the drainage layer is also drained off from the drainage channel in the event of heavy rain.
  • the lower edge of the horizontal openings is preferably at the level of the underside of the edge section so that all water that has penetrated into the edge section can be drained off.
  • One embodiment of the invention provides that a slotted channel is used, as has become known in connection with surface drainage.
  • the channel elements of a slot channel are provided with side openings which are aligned with the edge section.
  • cross-sectionally U-shaped channel elements can be provided with a water-permeable cover, in particular a grate, the upper side of which lies approximately at the level of the upper side of the edge section.
  • the lateral openings aligned with the edge section can be arranged directly below the cover, so that under certain circumstances thickening of the edge section can be dispensed with or the thickening only has to be provided as little as possible.
  • the drainage layer is compacted after application (drainage asphalt). If the edge section has the same thickness as the drainage layer, it is inevitably compressed in an analogous manner.
  • the cover in particular the grate, can be embedded in the material of the U-shaped channel element, which poses no problems in the production of the channel element from polymer concrete.
  • the cover is formed from polymer concrete and has a greater thickness.
  • the cover made of polymer concrete has several continuous slots and at least on one side lateral openings which are connected to the inlet slots.
  • the top of the cover is to be arranged so that when sealing the drainage layer and the edge section, the seal is not damaged and the slope to the cover is preserved.
  • FIGS. 1 to 3 An identical layer structure of a roadway can be seen in FIGS. 1 to 3.
  • a cover layer 10 made of water-permeable asphalt (drainage asphalt) is supported on a bituminous base layer 14 via a binder layer 12. Underneath there is a further base layer 16.
  • a curb 18 extends beside the roadway and is embedded in a foundation 20 made of concrete. Paving stones 22 or slabs form a path on the side of the curb 18 facing away from the roadway.
  • An edge section 24a of the drainage layer 10 extends partially over the foundation 20.
  • the edge sections are provided with an addition (a, b %), since they are designed differently.
  • the edge section 24a extends to the depth of the first support layer 14. It is therefore thicker than the drainage layer 10.
  • the edge section 24a borders on a drainage channel which is constructed from individual channel elements 26.
  • the trough elements 26a are approximately circular in cross section, but have a slot 28 interrupted by webs on the upper side.
  • the top of the channel elements 26 lies somewhat below the top of the edge section 24a, so that the entry of surface water is ensured and the channel is not destroyed during compression.
  • the channel elements 26 also have a plurality of holes 30 laterally in the longitudinal direction, which are aligned with the edge section 24a, namely to its lower region, i. the holes 30 are located just above or at the top of the foundation 20 in this area.
  • the channel elements 26 are embedded in the foundation 10.
  • a grout 32 seals the channel elements 26 from the curb 18.
  • the drainage channel is connected to a drain, not shown, which is preferably a sink box, through which the channel sections are accessible.
  • U-shaped channel elements 36 are embedded in the foundation 20. They have a grate 38 on the top as a cover, which is supported on a frame 42 which is embedded in the thickened material of the channel element 36.
  • the frame 42 enables lateral openings 40 to be formed which are aligned with the edge section 24b, the underside of the openings 40 being approximately aligned with the upper side of the foundation 20 in this region.
  • the lateral openings 40 enable water to be introduced into the channel via the edge section 24b and thus of water which has penetrated into the drainage layer 10. Surface water is discharged into the channel via the grate 38.
  • a channel element 44 similar to the channel element 36 is embedded in the foundation 20. However, it is lower than the edge portion 24c.
  • a cover 46 Placed on the channel element 44 and optionally connected to it by gluing or the like, there is a cover 46, which likewise consists of polymer concrete, like the other channel elements shown in the embodiments.
  • the cover 46 has a thickness of a quarter to a third of the height of the channel elements 44 and has two parallel rows of water inlet slots 48.
  • the cover 46 has openings 50 which are laterally aligned with the edge section 24c and through which water which has entered the edge section 24 is drained off can be.
  • the channel elements 36 according to FIG. 2 have square openings 40 on one side in the upper thickened area, as a result of which water inlet openings are formed.
  • the openings 50 are triangular with the tip pointing upward (FIG. 5).
  • the openings 50 are provided with a slope 52 which slopes outwards. This prevents material from the edge section (e.g. 24c) from settling into the opening and clogging it during compression.
