Definitions
- the invention relates to an erosion protection and planting mat with at least one coarse-mesh fabric made from hard-wearing, rotten, organic fibers, preferably made from sisal and / or coconut fibers, and a nonwoven associated with plant seeds embedded therein, the nonwoven preferably preferably for the most part consists of rotting fibers.
- Erosion protection mats and plant mats are known in many different embodiments.
- an organic layer with grass seeds is applied to a paper layer.
- This layer is covered by a mat of vegetable mulch and coconut fibers, the whole is quilted with a mesh fabric.
- an additional fastening fabric had to be applied to prevent erosion, since the quilting with the mesh fabric, especially in steep terrain, cannot be provided and used for slope fastening.
- the mat laid out and anchored in various places on the floor to be fastened with this mat may to a large extent extend between the unevenness mentioned the ground so to speak freely spanned so that the roots of the germinating seed find no soil.
- decomposable natural fibers especially sisal and coconut fibers
- shrink considerably under the influence of moisture and moisture which are indeed due to the weather, so that even if the mat originally also lay on the floor to be fastened, it does not
- the shrinkage causes the mat to be lifted off the ground, so that even in this case the roots of the germinating seed hang in the air and then quickly wither, causing the seed to perform its intended task cannot meet.
- fleece-like mats should also be mentioned, which were developed for horticultural purposes and which have been described and explained in detail in WO-Al-85/01418.
- These fleece-like mats consist of wood fibers, which are obtained from alder wood, which rot relatively quickly. These wood fibers are bound to a fleece with a water-soluble agent, the binding being chosen so that the mat is loose and permeable on the one hand, but on the other hand has such a strong bond that it can be manipulated.
- These mats are made in a square shape, the edge length of these squares is approx. 40 cm. There is an opening in the middle of this square mat, and this square mat also has a slot leading from the edge to the central recess.
- mats are placed on the ground around young plants and their task is to serve as a water reservoir on the one hand, and on the other hand to prevent them the soil around the roots of the young plant dries out too quickly and becomes brittle and cracked.
- materials of this type are also produced in web form, in which grass seeds and possibly fertilizers are incorporated into these webs.
- Such mats with grass seeds are used where there are difficult-to-access areas on which it is difficult to grow a lawn in the usual way.
- Such mats are also suitable for repairing heavily used lawn areas.
- these lawn mats are not suitable for consolidating erosion-prone soils.
- the invention is now based, which aims to further develop the mat so that the culture medium can be applied with the seed in a single operation and at the same time the necessary attachment can be achieved without trained specialists and special equipment and To have to use machines, but above all the mat is designed so that the disadvantage mentioned under the influence of damp or wet weather conditions can not occur.
- the invention solves this problem in that the connecting means holding the fabric and fleece together consist of a material which loses its strength under the action of moisture and moisture, in particular dissolves. If the mat is now exposed to damp weather conditions, the bonding agents holding the fabric and the fleece together gradually dissolve and the fleece containing the plant seeds sinks and lies directly on the ground to be protected.
- the connecting means can connect the fabric and the fleece to one another at certain points.
- These connecting means are expediently designed as fibers, threads or yarns, and the nonwoven and woven fabric are sewn together at least in sections.
- a coarse-mesh fabric 1 made of sisal or coconut fibers has on its underside a fleece 2, which is preferably constructed from dark or dark-colored fibers.
- Coarse-mesh fabric in the sense of the present invention is understood to mean one that has relatively large pore volumes between the threads, a so-called leaky fabric.
- Plant seeds 3 are embedded in the above-mentioned fleece 2, and a fertilizer can expediently also be included here.
- Fabric 1 and fleece 2 are connected to one another at the factory by means of individual seams 5. These seams 5 are now made from yarns that lose their strength under the influence of moisture and moisture, in particular dissolve, e.g. Yarns based on polyphenyl alcohol (PVA).
- PVA polyphenyl alcohol
- FIG. 2 now illustrates how the mat shown in FIG. 1, manufactured at the factory, is laid on a floor 6 to be fastened, this floor being strewn with relatively large stones 7.
- the mat is laid so that it sags between adjacent stones 7 and rests on the floor to be fastened.
- anchors can be attached to the floor at various points, with which the mat is then permanently connected.
- the seams 5 lose their strength, they dissolve, and thus the connection between fleece 2 and fabric 1 is interrupted, so that the tissue, which shrinks considerably due to the weather conditions mentioned and is therefore shortened, is subsequently raised between two adjacent supports, here between the stones 7, but the fleece 2 permeated with seeds and possibly fertilizer now remains on the bottom 6 and the germinating seeds or whose roots find the conditions necessary for their development.
- a mat in which fleece and fabric are connected with threads or yarns of a conventional type shows the picture that is illustrated schematically in FIG. 4: the mat lifting between two adjacent supports (stones 7) as a result of the shrinkage inevitably entrains this their bonded fleece 2, it lifts it off the ground 6, and the roots 8 of the germinating seeds hang freely in the air, where they will soon wither. Since the shrinkage process mentioned is irreversible, the germinating seeds cannot develop in this case, the seeds cannot fulfill their intended function.

Description
- Fig. 1
- einen Längsschnitt durch eine Matte in schematischer Darstellung;
- Fig. 2
- die Matte nach Fig. 1 auf einem mit großen Steinen übersäten, zu befestigenden Boden verlegt;
- Fig. 3
- entspricht der Darstellung nach Fig. 2, jedoch nach Witterungseinflüssen mit hohem Feuchtigkeitsgehalt;
