Definitions
- the invention relates to a fastening device for mounting the lower end of an upright load mast stand on a work vehicle, in particular a tractor, the work vehicle on each of its opposite sides containing a mounting frame which can essentially accommodate the entire load capacities of the loader.
- Each of the two fastening devices contains a receptacle, which is located on a side of the lower mast stand end lying in the longitudinal direction of the work vehicle and cooperates with a corresponding design of the mounting frame. It also contains at least one recess on the other side of the mast stand end, which is aligned with at least one corresponding recess in the mounting frame when the loader is mounted on the work vehicle, so that at least one fastening means can be inserted into the recesses.
- the invention further relates to a method for mounting the lower end of an upright mast on a work vehicle, in which the fastening device is used.
- the present invention relates generally to loaders which can be mounted on the front end of tractors and, in particular, to fastening devices for loaders which allow fast attachment and detachment and ensure a firm, play-free connection between loader and tractor.
- a number of fasteners for loaders have become known which are simple for an operator Allow the loader to be attached to a tractor. The loader can also be quickly released to make the tractor available for other uses.
- Most of these fastening devices require tools, wheel chocks or adjusting devices for assembly and disassembly in order to precisely align the areas of engagement between the loader and tractor during assembly and to allow a play-free fit.
- the tools should facilitate the insertion of a locking bolt and prevent looseness and the resulting vibrations.
- a tight, firm adjustment is particularly necessary for small tractors, where there are no widely spaced attachment points for the loader, so that a looseness of the attachment has a reinforcing effect on the attachment attached to the loader.
- Some of the known clamping arrangements can cause undesirable forces or displacements of the loader frame during operation.
- the support struts of the tractor and the adapted mast parts of the loader which are connected to one another by means of bolts, documents or compensating elements, require a high manufacturing tolerance, as a result of which their production costs increase.
- the fasteners become inoperative under the harsh operating conditions that are common in loader operation. If locking bolts are used for fastening devices, without the tight fit can be produced by adjusting means, the insertion and removal of the bolts is difficult and requires high forces.
- the object to be achieved with the invention is seen in specifying a fastening device and a method for fastening a loader to a work vehicle of the type mentioned at the beginning, by means of which the disadvantages and difficulties mentioned can be overcome.
- the fastening device is intended to enable simple handling and a firm connection between the loader and the tractor, without the need for tools, intermediate layers, wedges or special adjusting means which would increase the costs and the complexity of the loader. Relatively low tolerance requirements should be imposed on the manufacture of the fastening device.
- the fastening device should be able to be used advantageously, in particular, in loaders that do not have fastening points that are far apart.
- the fastening device and the fastening method are also intended to enable a form-fitting attachment of the loader mast stand to the fastening means of the tractor, in which the loader can be fastened to the tractor simply by means of bolts or pins, whereby, however, undesirable forces affecting the connection area are reduced or avoided.
- the fastening device is intended to enable the loader cylinders to be used advantageously in order to align the openings receiving the bolts with respect to one another, as a result of which the locking device can be inserted and removed easily when fastening and loosening the loader.
- the receptacle contains a groove-shaped part that the Receiving a cross bolt attached to the mounting frame, about which the mast stand can be pivoted, and that the mounting frame has in the region of its recess essentially upwardly open guide means, which serves to receive a support part of the mast stand end adapted to the guide means contour.
- the support part When the loader is mounted, the support part lies firmly on the catch bag, which serves as a stop.
- the diameter of the fastening bolt is approximately the same size as the diameter of the recesses of the mast stand end and the mounting frame.
- the object with regard to the assembly method is achieved by the method steps mentioned in claims 9 or 10.
- one uses the cylinder on the loader to pivot the mast stand around the pivot point, which is formed by the cross bolt received by the fillet-shaped part.
- the support part of the mast stand is pressed onto the catch pocket of the mounting frame provided for this purpose, as a result of which the recesses of the mast stand and of the mounting frame are brought into alignment and the fastening bolt can be inserted effortlessly.
- the method according to the invention thus enables simple mounting of the loader on the work vehicle without the need for special tools.
- the fastening device includes a pair of mounting frames which are fastened to the two opposite sides of the tractor frame and are designed for receiving the lower ends of the upright mast stands of the loader.
- Each of the add-on frames contains a transversely aligned bolt, which is the Includes an open front area of the mast stand.
- the rear of each mounting frame opens up to accommodate the rear of the mast stand end when the mast stand is pivoted down about the axis of the bolt.
- protruding sockets suitable for receiving a bolt, which are received in the rear area of the mounting frame by suitable, upwardly open catch pockets.
- the jacks are inevitably pressed into the catch pockets by operating the hydraulic boom cylinders when the auxiliary device is lying on the floor.
- the great mechanical gain which is achieved by pivoting the mast around the front rod with the help of the boom cylinder, ensures that the mast stand end is forcibly aligned with the mounting frame.
- the sockets When the sockets are pressed all the way down into the seat position in the catch pockets, holes in the mounting frame are aligned with socket holes in an aligned position, so that a locking bolt can be easily inserted and fixes the mast stand on the tractor.
- Intermediate layers, wedges, screwable adjusters or other additional parts are not required to obtain a strong, tight fit. No tools are required to attach or detach the loader.
- the catch pockets are shaped in such a way that they are a positive guide for the socket and prevent undesirable forces and displacements at the end of the mast stand, even under heavy loads during loader operation. While the loader is being dismantled, the bushings are pushed back down into the catch pockets, so that the bolt can be removed without tools with very little effort. Since no screwable adjustment means, intermediate layers, wedges or the like are required, both the attachment and removal of the loader can be done in a comparatively short time.
- the loader 12 contains a mast 16 which is connected in an articulated manner to upright mast stands 18 and can be pivoted up and down about a transverse axis in the usual manner by means of a boom cylinder 30.
- the mast 16 comprises a pair of cross-spaced cantilever arms 22 which are connected to the mast stand 18 at points 23.
- the cantilever arms 22 extend forward from the mast stands 18 to the knee joints 24.
- the cantilever arms 22 extend obliquely downward from the knee joints 24 to lower, front fastening ends 26. At these fastening ends 26 there is an additional device 28 attached.
- Boom cylinders 30 are fastened between the lower ends of the mast stand 18 and the knee joints 24, through which the boom arms 22 can be pivoted vertically about the articulated points 23.
- Cylinders 34 are fastened between the knee joints 24 and the additional device 28 in order to pivot the additional device 28 about the pivot points 36 into different parking and working positions.
- parking supports 38 are fastened to the extension arms 22, which stand between a raised operating position (FIG. 1) in which the supports 38 nestle against the extension arms 22 and a storage position (FIG. 2) in which the supports 38 are folded back and take an angle with the cantilever arms 22, have them pivoted. If the parking supports 38 are fixed in their parking position, the loader 12 which is not attached to the tractor 10 can stand freely and is only carried by the parking supports 36 and the additional device 28 (FIGS. 2 and 3).
- the loader 12 is a front loader and the attachment 28 is a loader bucket.
- the present invention can also be applied to other types of vehicles with attachments which can be attached to the boom.
- the loader 12 can be releasably attached to the tractor 10 at locally predetermined areas. They facilitate the attachment and detachment of the loader 12.
- the side attachments 40 contain an attachment frame 42 (FIG. 2) on each side of the tractor, which can be designed as a welded construction and is attached to a tractor frame extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and one with the attachment frame 42 matching lower mast stand end 44. Since the side mount 40 on the left tractor side essentially is a mirror image of the side attachment on the right side of the tractor, only the right side attachment 40 is described in more detail below.
- the add-on or support frame 42 according to FIGS. 6 to 8 and 11 to 13 has an upright mounting plate 52 which contains openings 54 for rigid attachment of the add-on frame 42 at a location on the tractor frame side immediately behind the front wheels of the tractor 10.
- a horizontal base plate 56 is welded to the mounting plate 52 and extends laterally outwards.
- a diagonal strut 58 extends upward and outward from the lower end of the mounting plate 52 and is attached to the outer edge of the base plate 56.
- a rear wall 64 is welded to the plates 52 and 56 and forms a strong and rigid support structure therewith.
- a U-shaped part 70 which is open towards the rear is welded to the base plate 56 of the mounting frame 42 (FIGS. 6, 7 and 11).
- This part 70 contains a pair of plates 72, 73 which diverge towards the rear and which are open at the top and rear and carry between them a bolt or rod 74 which extends transversely over the base plate 56.
- the plates 72, 73 are dimensioned and arranged so that they receive the front region of the lower mast frame end 44 and guide the end 44 in close contact with the bolt 74 during the attachment of the loader 12.
- Holding devices 80 are welded to the base plate 56 and the rear wall 64 with machine-made beveled guide rails 82, 83, which receive the rear region of the lower mast stand end 44 during the fastening.
- the two guide rails 82, 83 are essentially mirror images of one another and include an upstanding outer wall 84 and an inner guide surface 86.
- In the outer wall 84 there is a bore 88 which extends through a bushing 90 which in turn is welded to the outside of the wall 84.
- the uppermost regions of the walls 84 diverge upwards, which facilitates the insertion of the lower mast stand ends 44 into the fastening position.
- Each of the guide rails 82, 83 contains an inclined rear region 94 which is angled from the rear wall 64 towards the opening 88 and opens into a rounded catch pocket 98.
- each catch pocket 98 opens upward and slightly forward and forms the lowest end point of the guide surface 86.
- the catch pocket 98 is circular and has its circle center essentially in the axis of the bore 88.
- the guide surface 86 extends at 102 from the catch pocket 98 and is located somewhat above the lowest end point of the catch pocket 98.
- the lower mast stand end 44 contains a forwardly open groove 104 with a C-shaped cross section, which is designed to be received by the bolt 74 between the plates 72, 73, and through which there is a pivot bearing of the loader 12 for the assembly and disassembly process results.
- the groove 104 widens outwards in the forward direction in order to form a guide for the front end of the lower mast stand end 44 when it is received by the bolt 74.
- the groove 104 is driven forward to nestle tightly against the bolt 74 and between the plates 72, 73, so that there is a firm hold in the longitudinal and transverse directions for the fully assembled loader.
- the lower mast stand end 44 also has a rear region 114 which carries reinforced mast receptacles or stand supports 116 which project transversely beyond the side boundaries of the mast stand 18.
- the width of the rear area of the lower mast stand end 44 located at the mast sleeves 116 is approximately equal to the distance between the inwardly facing surfaces of the walls 84 of the holding device 80.
- the outer diameter of each of the mast sleeves 116 is equal to the diameter of the corresponding catch pocket 98.
- the mast sleeves 116 have bores 118, the diameter of which is equal to the diameter of the bores 88 in the sockets 90.
- the loader 12 is mounted with the fastening bolt 126 inserted, the lowest-lying edge of the rear region of the lower mast stand end 44 lies somewhat above the base plate 56, as can best be seen from FIGS. 11 and 12.
- the fastening bolt 126 and the outer bushing 90 each contain an opening for receiving a retaining pin 130, through which the fastening bolt 126 is held in its position during charging operation (FIG. 12).
- the above-described construction of the lower mast stand end 44 and the mounting frame 42 provide a very tight and strong attachment for the loader 12.
- the large moments that occur during the operation of the loader 12 are essentially absorbed by the mounting frame 42 and the mast stand ends 44, which form a lever (approximately equal to the distance between the bolts 74 and 126), which is only a small fraction (e.g., less than about a fifth) of the lever resulting from the distance between the attachment 28 and the side mount 40. Therefore, it is obvious that any movement of the fastening caused by a game would have a greatly enlarged effect on the additional device.
- the guide and catch pocket assembly reduces play and provides inevitable alignment of holes 88 and 118 through the use of the loader hydraulics so that mounting bolt 126 can be easily inserted and removed without the need for documents or adjustment means.
- the tractor 10 is driven forward between the mast stands 18 of the loader 12, which is set up as shown in FIG. 2, until the rear mast sleeves 116 lie over the mounting frame 42 on both sides.
- the tractor is switched off in this position when the engine is switched off.
- the hydraulic lines 132, 134 connected to the cylinders 30, 34 are connected to the hydraulic system of the tractor 10, not shown, so that the cylinders 30, 34 can be actuated.
- the tractor engine is started and the boom cylinders 30 are extended in order to pivot the mast stands 18 around the positions 23 until the grooves 104 lie just above the associated side fastenings 40 (FIG. 3).
- the auxiliary device cylinders 34 are then extended, whereby the loader 12 tilts over the base points of its parking supports 38, so that the mast stand end 44 in the mounting frame 42 immersed and is guided through the side walls 84 into its correct transverse position.
- the mast stand end 44 is moved forward by retracting the cylinder 30 (FIG. 4), and the groove 104 is pushed through the plates 72, 73 over the bolt 74.
- the cylinders 30 are retracted until the catch pocket 104, which is open to the front, bears against the bolt 74. If the catch pocket 104 completely receives the bolt 74, the additional device cylinders 34 are extended (FIG. 5), the additional device 28 moving downward from the horizontal orientation.
- the boom cylinders 30 are then retracted to relieve the tractor's front wheels.
- the tractor 10 If the tractor 10 is to be used for other purposes and freed from the loader 12, it is driven to a level parking space for the loader 12.
- the cylinders 34 are extended in order to bring the additional device 28 into a lower tilt position, which is approximately 45 ° with respect to the horizontal.
- the cylinders 30 are retracted to lower the attachment 28 to the floor (FIG. 1) and to relieve the front wheels of the tractor 10 since the weight of the attachment 12 loads the support of the mast sleeves 116 in the corresponding catch pocket 98 (FIGS. 11 and 12).
- the bores 88 in the bushes 90 are exactly aligned with the bores 118 in the corresponding mast plug sleeves 116.
- the tractor is started and the accessory cylinders 34 are retracted until the parking supports 38 are approximately 30 mm above the ground.
- the cylinders 30 are then extended (FIG. 4) until the lower mast stand ends 44 have moved backwards by a sufficient distance in order to pull the grooves 104 out of the bolts 74.
- the auxiliary device cylinders are completely retracted (FIG. 3) in order to raise the lower mast stand end 44 completely out of the mounting frame 42, the loader 12 pivoting about the base points of its parking supports 38. Then the cylinders 30 are completely retracted.
- the hydraulic lines 132, 134 are released.
- the engine is started and the tractor is slowly moved back out of the area of the mast stands 18 of the loader 12. In its parking position, the loader 12 rests on its parking supports 38 and the additional device 28.
