Definitions

  • the invention relates to an alphanumeric keyboard, comprising a plurality of switches which can be actuated by keys and a cover frame which covers the switches and has guide attachments for key tappets which are connected to key heads which overlap the guide attachments.
  • a keyboard is known from European patent application 0 267 541, in which a key head is connected to several plungers. However, the plungers cannot be adjusted independently of the key head. The same applies to the key arrangement described in the IBM Technical Disclosure Bulletin, June 1988, pages 47 to 49.
  • European patent application 0 282 817 shows a rotary selector switch within which four push button switches are arranged. In this arrangement, however, there is no button head on which several plungers are arranged so that the plungers either act together on switches or can be actuated independently of one another.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a keyboard of the type mentioned, which allows an operational change of the keyboard functions while maintaining the same keyboard structure.
  • At least one key is assigned to at least two switches with a key head spanning at least two guide approaches and that at least one plunger of this key is mounted on the key head in an adjustable manner parallel to the key direction.
  • the adjustable plunger is connected to a button and is mounted on the button head in such a way that it can be adjusted both by pressing the button head together with the other tappet (s) and independently of this by pressing its button button in the sense of a switch actuation .
  • the adjustable plunger is optionally adjustable between an active position in which it actuates the switch assigned to it when the button head is depressed, and an inactive position. This makes it possible to selectively actuate all the switches assigned to it or only certain combinations of switches or even just a single switch by depressing a button. In order to ensure reliable actuation of the switches, the adjustable plunger can expediently be locked in its operative position and / or its ineffective position.
  • the adjustable plunger is guided in a connecting piece connected to the key head and is biased into its ineffective position, and that an actuating element is movably arranged on the key head, which acts on the end of the plunger remote from the switch and from which Top of the button head is actuated ago.
  • the operation can be done in different ways.
  • the actuating element is arranged so as to be radially adjustable with respect to the plunger and is provided with a ramp which can be pushed onto the end of the plunger facing the button head.
  • the actuating element can be connected to a slide guided on the top of the key head or also to a rotary head mounted on the top of the key head.
  • the adjusting element can also comprise a pivotably mounted cam.
  • the actuating element can only be actuated by means of a key.
  • FIG. 1 Since the present invention deals only with the design of the keys of a keyboard, this is shown only schematically and in part in FIG. It comprises a housing, indicated only by a bottom 10, in which a carrier 12 for contact tracks 14 is arranged.
  • the carrier 12 can be, for example, a printed circuit board.
  • a bridge element 16 is assigned to each two contact tracks 14 and can bridge the two contact tracks 14, so that the contact tracks 14 and the associated bridge element 16 form a switch.
  • the bridge elements 16 are arranged in protuberances 18 of an elastic mat 20 which lies over the carrier 12.
  • the bridge elements 16 can be pressed onto the contact tracks 14 by pressure on the protuberances 18. If the pressure subsides, the protuberances 18 return to their starting position due to the elasticity of the mat 20, so that the bridge element 16 lifts off the contact tracks 14.
  • the housing is closed by a cover frame 22, which has a guide projection 24 above each protuberance (18) or each switch 14, 16, through which a key tappet 26 can act on the protuberance 18 and thus on the switch 14, 16.
  • the keyboard described so far is known per se, the design of the switches being optional, insofar as they can only be actuated by a plunger which extends through the guide projection 24.
  • a key head 28 in the form of a square flat cap with a top surface 30 and one on this peripheral edge 32.
  • the top surface 30 is divided on its upper side by webs 34 into four fields, each of which has a central opening 36.
  • a cylindrical connector 38 on the underside of the cover surface 30, the diameter of which is selected so that it can engage in a guide projection 24 with little play.
  • a key tappet 26 is slidably guided in each connecting piece 38 and is connected on its upper side to a key button 40 which fills the respective field.
  • This single key consisting of key tappet 26 and key button 40 is pretensioned by a helical compression spring 42 surrounding the key tappet 40 into the contact-free position shown in FIG Support on a radially inward flange 46 at the lower end of the nozzle 38.
  • This flange 46 also serves to support this helical compression spring 42.
  • the key top 28 is biased as a whole by a spring 48 into the non-contact position.
  • each plunger 26 has at its end facing the top surface 30 a head 50 which tapers in the shape of a truncated cone towards its free end. It serves to support the helical spring 42, which prestresses the respective plunger 26 in its upper position.
  • the other plungers are biased into their upper position by the springs, in which they cannot close the switches 14, 16 assigned to them when the button head 28 is depressed.
  • the switch can thus be selected by moving the operating button 56, which closes when the button is pressed.
  • Each key tappet 26 is assigned a two-armed swivel lever 64 which is radially directed with respect to this key tappet and is pivotably mounted at 66 on the cover surface 30 and projects with its one lever arm into the socket 38 and bears against the head 50 of the key tappet 26 with a cam 68.
  • the lever arm 70 remote from the key tappet 26 the swivel arm 64 bears against one side of a cam disk 72, which is connected via a shaft end 74 passing through the cover surface 30 to a rotary knob 76 resting on the cover surface 30.
  • FIGS. 8 to 10 differs from the previously described embodiments by the type of adjustment of the key tappets 26.
  • the cover surface 30 in FIG a locking cylinder 80 is rotatably supported in the middle between the connecting pieces 38 in a manner not shown.
  • an actuating pin 84 which is radially adjustable in the locking cylinder 80 is pushed radially outward.
  • This pin 84 has an inclined ramp surface 86, so that when the locking cylinder 80 is rotated with the aid of the key 82, it can slide through an opening 88 in the socket 38 onto the head 50 of a key tappet 26 and adjust it downwards.
  • the key arrangements shown in FIGS. 11 to 19 each comprise only two individual keys and differ from one another by the different type of adjustment of the key tappets.
  • the adjustment mechanism in the embodiment according to FIGS. 11 and 12 essentially corresponds to the adjustment mechanism described with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4.
  • a slide mounted on the top surface 30, generally designated 90 has on its adjusting element 92 located below the top surface 30 ramp-shaped inclined surfaces 94 which slide on the head 50 when the slide 90 is moved in the direction of one of the two key tappets 26 and thus against the key tappet adjust the force of the spring 42 downwards.
  • the actuator is formed in each case by a pivot lever 96 which is pivotably mounted on the inside of the edge 32 of the key head 28 and extends radially into the respective connector 38 through an opening 98 and with a cam 100 rests on the head 50 of the key tappet 26.
  • a pin 102 engaging the lever 96 passes through the top surface 30.
  • the heads 50 of the two key tappets 26 are each articulatedly connected via a type of connecting rod 106 to a slide 108 which is arranged displaceably on the upper side of the cover surface 30.
  • a shift of the slider 108 in the direction of the double arrow A moves the one key tappet downward and the other upward.
  • a shaft 110 which diametrically penetrates the connecting pieces 38, is mounted in the key head 28 below the cover surface 30, on which actuating cams 112 (FIG. 19) are arranged, which act on the heads 50 of the key tappets 26.
  • the shaft 110 is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to two lugs 114, on which actuating pins 116 act, which penetrate the cover surface 30 in corresponding bores.
  • actuating pins 116 can in turn be pressed down with a button 118, whereby the respective cams 112 can be pivoted so that the associated cam 112 can be pivoted Key tappet is adjusted to its effective switching position.
  • the cams 112 and the lugs 114 for the two key tappets 26 are offset from one another on the shaft 110 in such a way that when the two key buttons 118 are actuated, the shaft is rotated once in one direction of rotation and once in the opposite direction of rotation and thereby when the one key tappet is adjusted is released into the effective switching position of the other key plunger, so that it can return to its inactive rest position.
