Definitions
- the invention relates to a locking device for binding combs for the bending closing of at least approximately C-profile-shaped punching combs for comb bindings of single sheets or the like, with a bending tool which is provided with two mutually opposite bending punches.
- a locking device of this type is described for example in DE-OS 36 19 648.
- the open form is closed by bending or rolling in after the correspondingly pre-punched single sheets have been inserted into the perforation tines beforehand.
- Glide during the closing process the perforation teeth of the binding comb on the bending dies.
- the glide depends on numerous factors, this occurring both on the upper side opposite the upper bending die and on the lower side opposite the lower bending die.
- a glide and a resulting roll-in movement would only be desirable as far as possible only of the perforation tines lying on the lower punch, whereas the position of the perforation tines in relation to the upper punch should be maintained as far as possible.
- the curling movement takes place more or less in an uncontrolled manner, the curling upper perforating tines pressing on the sheet stack and possibly producing undesirable impressions in the uppermost sheets.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of improving a closing device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the change in position of a binding comb during the closing process is approximated as closely as possible to the ideal process, with the possibility, if appropriate, of still giving this closing process with a single tool can also be achieved for different sizes and diameters of binding combs.
- this object is achieved in that the two bending punches are provided with strip-like contact members which are at least approximately point or form linear supports for the prongs of the binding comb, the upper contact members being designed so that they produce a higher static friction on the prongs of the binding comb.
- the distance of the upper contact members from one another is greater than the distance of the lower contact members from one another.
- This configuration means that the perforated tines adhere more strongly to the upper contact members due to their C-profile shape than on the lower investment links.
- the upper contact members consist of a material or are coated with a material which generates a greater static friction than the material for the lower contact members.
- a very advantageous and not obvious further development of the invention consists in the fact that the distances between the contact members can be adjusted in each case.
- binding combs Due to the possibility of adjusting and also adjusting the distances, multiple sizes or diameters of binding combs can be processed with a single set of bending dies, i.e. the device according to the invention can be optimally adjusted to the respective conditions.
- a bending punch e.g. divided into a base part and a second part, namely the contact elements, which assume the actual liability or guidance for the binding comb.
- the spacing of the system members from one another can be adjusted in different ways.
- the bending punches are provided with a plurality of slots running parallel to one another and in the longitudinal direction, into which the contact members designed as rails can be inserted.
- This configuration is very simple and can be produced very cheaply. For this purpose, it is only necessary to provide a plurality of slots in a base part of the bending die and to insert two contact members, which are arranged at a distance from one another, into the rails at the desired distance.
- the spacing of the contact members from one another can instead be adjusted by interposed interchangeable spacing members in another embodiment of the invention.
- any distances and thus any sizes and diameters of bending combs can be processed with a single device.
- spacers of different thicknesses or widths, e.g. Spacer bars or spacers to use.
- each bending punch has a base part with a stop part, the contact members with the spacers being arranged interchangeably between a holding part and the stop part.
- the front edge of the stop part forms an abutment member from the base part of the upper bending punch.
- one component can be saved, because the stop part thus has a double function. Since practically the two or two contact members are at a greater distance from one another, a contact point, preferably just the rear contact edge, can be selected as a fixed reference point, with which it is only necessary to match the remaining three strips according to the desired diameter or size of the binding comb to arrange.
- Another embodiment for a distance adjustability is that the contact members of the lower and the upper bending punch are connected to one another on the side facing away from one another via a hinge-like connection, the opening angle of the hinge-like connection being adjustable in each case.
- the two contact members are fixed on one side, but can be pivoted relative to one another, and by adjusting the opening angle, comb bindings with different diameters of binding combs and different ones can be made Carry out single sheet numbers.
- the opening angle of the hinge-like connection, through which the contact members form a V-shape, can take place continuously or in steps.
- Continuous adjustability can e.g. can be achieved by adjusting screws that connect the two V-shaped contact members.
- the contact members that cooperate with each other can also be kept at a constant distance or at a prestress from one another by a spring device, as a result of which separate fixing devices are avoided.
- the contact members on the contact side are semicircular or at least rounded.
- the upper contact members can also be rounded in order to avoid impressions in the sheet stack even more reliably.
- the investment links also be square in the form of rails or strips.
- the strips can be knurled with grooves made radially to the diameter, so that the element cannot move laterally or axially when closing.
- a further reduction in static friction is achieved if it is provided that the contact members of the lower bending punch are each provided with a roller bar on their contact side. Instead of sliding friction, rolling friction is generated in this way, which is much less friction.
- Binding comb closing devices for closing a binding comb blank or a binding comb prefabricated from round wire are generally known, which is why only the parts essential to the invention are described in more detail below.
- the locking device has two bending punches arranged in a machine frame, namely an upper bending punch 1 and a lower bending punch 2, which can generally be moved towards one another in the direction of the arrow by a hydraulic or pneumatic device (not shown).
- Each bending punch 1 or 2 has a base part 3 which is provided with a plurality of slots 4 which are arranged parallel and at a distance from one another and extend in the longitudinal direction of the bending punch 1 or 2.
- slots 4 are provided, but of course it is also possible within the scope of the invention to provide further slots 4.
- the distances between the slots 4 in the upper punch 1 are greater than the distances between the slots 4 in the lower punch 2.
- the contact members 5 to 8 in the form of strips or rails accordingly in the same way in such a way that in each case an intermediate slot 4 remains free, the two contact members 5 and 6 in the upper punch 1 are at a greater distance from each other than the two contact members 7 and 8 in the lower punch 2.
- the spacing of the slots 4 in the lower and the upper punch 1 and 2 are the same. In this case, there will be correspondingly more free slots between the contact members 5 and 6 in the upper punch 1 than between the contact members 7 and 8 in the lower punch.
- the only prerequisite for inserting the contact members 5 to 8 is that the two contact members 5 and 6 have a greater distance from one another than the contact members 7 and 8.
- the perforation prongs 9 of the binding comb 10 each rest against the contact members 5 to 8 in a point or line shape. In other words, this also means that the binding comb 10 with its numerous perforation prongs 9 only rests at four points.
- a guide surface - as is the case with the prior art - is no longer necessary because the spacing arrangement of the contact members according to the invention and their only small width ensure that the binding comb is guided properly.
- FIG. 2 Another embodiment is shown in FIG. 2 with respect to a distance adjustability of the contact members 5 to 8.
- the contact members 5, 6 and 7, 8 are articulated to one another via a hinge-like connection 11 on the side facing away from the binding comb.
- the hinge-like connection 11 can be connected to the base part 3 of the respective bending die 1 or 2 in any manner and not shown in detail.
- the setting and the adjustment of the distance between the contact member 5 and the contact member 6 or the contact member 7 and the contact member 8 on the front is carried out by adjusting screws 12 which pass through the two cooperating contact members transversely.
- the adjusting screw 12 can, for example, be provided with a threaded pin and an adjusting nut. To maintain an exact opening position the respective cooperating contact members 5, 6 and 7, 8 are held by a spring device 13 arranged between them on a bias.
- the opening angle of the hinge-like connection can be changed infinitely and thus the distance between the two mutually cooperating contact members 5, 6 and 7, 8 in the area of the support for the perforated prongs 9.
- Fig. 3 the front region of a contact member 7 or 8 is shown in a side view, wherein a roller bar 14 is inserted in a corresponding recess in the area of the support for the binding comb 10, which around an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of the contact members runs, is rotatable. In this way, the friction between the perforated prongs 9 and the lower contact members 7 and 8 is reduced.
- each bending punch 1 or 2 having a base part 3 in the form of an angle or an L.
- the location of the angular base parts 3 are each selected so that one leg lies horizontally, while the second leg runs in the vertical direction, in each case in the direction of the other bending punch.
- the respective vertical leg forms a stop part 15 which is arranged at the rear.
- the respective horizontal legs of the base part 3 form support or contact surfaces for the strip-shaped contact members 5, 6 and 7, 8.
- the rear contact member 6 of the upper bending die 1 is formed by the front edge of the stop part 15.
- spacers which have different thicknesses or widths, are arranged between the contact members 5, 6 and 7, 8 and the stop parts.
- the width of the spacers 16 is to be selected depending on the size or the diameter of the binding comb 10, care being taken that the distance between the two contact members 5, 6 is greater than the distance between the two lower contact members 7, 8th.
- the individual parts are connected to one another by an outer holding part 17, or the contact members 7, 8 and the contact member 5 are included the spacers 16 in between pressed against the respective stop part 15 of the base part 3.
- Hexagon socket screws 18 are used for this purpose, which are inserted through the contact members 5, 7 and 8 and the spacer members 16 and screwed into the stop parts 15.
