Definitions

  • the invention relates to a toe piece according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the axis of the release spring or the pull rod runs at an acute angle with respect to the top of the ski.
  • As a result of the inclined position of the pull rod further components of this toe piece are also arranged obliquely, which complicates the manufacture and construction.
  • the two angle levers only enclose the shoe sole laterally. Furthermore, the pull rod carries at its rear end a cross part which, in the driving position of the front jaw, rests on the shorter lever arms of the two angle levers.
  • an additional sole hold-down is provided, which can be pivoted upward about an axis mounted in the housing in the event of a backward fall of the skier. As a result of the additional sole hold-down device, this toe piece is somewhat complicated in its structure.
  • a toe piece has already been proposed in which the two angle levers are mounted in a bearing part arranged at the rear end of a housing, which is pressed against the housing under the influence of a release spring.
  • the ski boot is held in place exclusively by the two angle levers, and the bearing part can be pivoted upwards in the longitudinal plane and also in a transverse plane if the skier falls; but this toe piece has an automatic adjustment of the two angle levers to the thickness of the shoe sole, which is brought about by two inclined surfaces and the release spring.
  • the preload of the release spring is dependent, albeit to a limited extent, on the thickness of the shoe sole.
  • the invention has for its object to eliminate the disadvantages of the known designs and to create a toe which is relatively simple in its construction and in which the entire spring force is fully effective as a holding force.
  • this object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of this claim.
  • the two angle levers are also pivoted when the bearing part is pivoted, so that if the skier falls backwards, the guidance for the ski boot is maintained within the elastic range. After the elasticity range has been exceeded, the bearing part is also allowed to rotate about the axis of the drawbar, which results in the triggering angle lever being raised and thus in easier release of the ski boot.
  • the bearing part is secured in a particularly simple manner in the vertical direction in the elastic region against pivoting about the axis of the drawbar.
  • the measure of claim 3 ensures guidance of the bearing part in the vertical longitudinal center plane and entrainment of the bearing part when the screw is adjusted.
  • the features of claim 4 allow a reliable support of the lever on the housing.
  • the measure of claim 5 also aims in this direction.
  • the subject of claim 6 brings about a stable mounting of the pull rod at its end adjacent to the ski boot.
  • a pivot axis for the bearing part is formed by the lever, care being taken at the same time for wear-free pivoting.
  • FIG. 1 is a vertical longitudinal central section through the toe piece in the driving position in the case of a thin shoe sole
  • FIG. 2 is an associated plan view
  • FIG. 3 is an associated view in the direction of arrow III in FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 4 shows a detail of the toe piece in the diagram.
  • Fig. 5 is a vertical longitudinal central section through the toe in the driving position with a thick shoe sole.
  • Fig. 6 is a vertical longitudinal central section through the front jaw when the skier falls backwards.
  • Fig. 7 is a view of the front jaw in the direction of arrow VII in Fig. 6 when the backward fall is combined with a turning fall.
  • the toe is in its entirety designated 1. It has a housing 2 which is fastened to the top 3a of a ski 3 by means of screws 3b which are only indicated.
  • a release spring 4 designed as a helical spring is accommodated, the pretension of which can be adjusted in a manner known per se by means of a threaded sleeve 5.
  • the release spring 4 is arranged between a spring plate 6 and a bearing bush 7 which is mounted in a vertical transverse wall 2a of the housing 2.
  • the trigger spring 4 is penetrated in the axial direction by a pull rod 8, on one end 8a of which the threaded sleeve 5 is screwed on and the other end 8b of which is fastened to a transverse part 9, for example by riveting.
  • This bearing part 10 is, seen from the rear, frame-shaped, that is to say provided for the pull rod 8 with a through opening 10b, and — seen in side view — has approximately the shape of a C (see FIG. 4).
  • the upper leg of the C is formed by a transverse plate 10c, whereas the lower leg of two in relation to the vertical longitudinal median plane of the toe 1 there are symmetrically arranged tabs 10d1 and 10d2. Between the plate 10c and each of the tabs 10d1 and 10d2, an axis 11a and 11b is arranged, on each of which an angle lever 12 or 13 is mounted.
  • the longer lever arm 12a, 13a of each angle lever 12, 13 has an essentially U-shaped cross section, with no axes 14-17 on which rollers 18-21 are mounted are arranged in the two legs.
  • the upper legs of the longer lever arms 12a, 13a are also supported on the top of the shoe sole as a hold-down.
  • the shorter lever arms 12b, 13b of the two angle levers 12, 13 are supported in a known manner on the cross part 9 fastened on the pull rod 8.
  • the transverse wall 2a of the housing 2 has a rearward-facing horizontal projection 2d, which is rectangular in plan view and which engages in a recess 10e of the bearing part 10 in the travel position of the front jaw 1.
  • the housing 2 On its upper side, the housing 2 has a rectangular recess 2e which runs in the longitudinal direction of the front jaw 1 and which is open toward the bearing part 10 and upwards.
  • a lever 22 is mounted in this recess 2e and engages with a spherical bearing pin 22a in a spherical recess 2f which is arranged in a transverse wall 2c delimiting the recess 2e.
  • the lever 22 has at its free end a recess 22b into which a cylindrical extension 10f of the bearing part 10 engages with play.
  • the outline of the recess 22b is adapted to the extension 10f.
  • the recess 2e is bridged by a transverse web 23 which is fastened to the housing 2.
  • a transverse web 23 which is fastened to the housing 2.
  • the web 23 there is a threaded bore 23a, into which an adjusting screw 24 is screwed.
  • the lower end of the adjusting screw 24 can be rotated in the lever 22, but is secured against male displacement by means of a snap ring 25.
  • the set screw 24 is first turned by hand until the desired distance is set. This distance is designated d min in FIG. 1 and d max in FIG. 5.
  • the pin can also have a square cross section.
  • the lever carrying the adjusting screw with an extension which engages in a recess in the bearing part with play.
  • a grub screw is firmly anchored, which is a nut that can be turned by hand, e.g. a wing nut, wherein a helical compression spring is arranged between the web and the lever.
