Definitions

  • the invention relates to a safety ski binding, as specified in the first part of claim 1.
  • the aim of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of the known designs and to create a safety ski binding which is simple in its construction and whose front jaws are designed in such a way that the elements required for its control are protected against dirt on the outside.
  • the measure of claim 3 prevents lifting of the toe from the top of the ski.
  • the measure of claim 6 enables adaptation of the toe to differently thick shoe soles.
  • the subject matter of claim 7 allows the trigger characteristic of the toe to be given the desired profile in a simple manner.
  • Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through the front jaw in the driving position and Fig. 2 is an associated partial plan view.
  • the control curve is shown in the front view in the direction of arrows 111-111 in Fig. 1.
  • Fig. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 5 through the front jaw in the deflected position and Fig. 5 is an associated partial plan view.
  • a guide part 2 for a housing 7 made of elastic plastic is attached on the top 1 of a ski.
  • This guide part 2 has a cavity 2a which is open towards the ski and into which a pin 3 placed on the guide part projects.
  • a rail 4 is attached to the top 1 of the ski, which is designed in a frame shape.
  • the long sides carry inwardly directed toothed strips 4a. Flanges are attached to the long sides, on which the guide part 2 is guided in the longitudinal direction of the ski.
  • the locking member 5 In the cavity 2a there is a resilient locking member 5, which is placed on the pin 3 with a hole. If the guide part 2 is adjusted in the longitudinal direction of the ski, the locking member 5, which engages with its locking teeth in the toothed strips 4a of the rail 4, is raised with a screwdriver which is pressed between the locking member 5 and the rail 4, so that the connection between the locking teeth of the locking member 5 and the toothed strips 4a of the rail 4 is released. Then the guide part 2 is moved. So As soon as the desired position of the guide part 2 with respect to the ski is reached, the screwdriver is pulled out of the gap between the rail 4 and the underside of the locking member 5, and the locking teeth of the locking member 5 snap back into the toothed strips 4a of the rail 4. To ensure the latter, the locking member 5 is loaded by a resilient tongue 2b, which is integrally formed with the guide part 2.
  • a groove 2c with a rectangular cross section is cut out, the purpose of which will be explained later.
  • the longitudinal side walls of the guide part 2 carry guide grooves 2d (see FIG. 3).
  • a support 2e for a compression spring 6 is attached to the top of the guide part 2.
  • the guide part 2 In the area of the right end in FIG. 1, the guide part 2 carries a control curve 2f which is circular in plan view.
  • a housing 7 likewise made of plastic is guided in the longitudinal direction of the ski, in that strips attached to the housing are slidably mounted in the grooves 2d of the guide part 2.
  • the housing 7 is under the influence of the spring 6, which tries to move it to the right in FIG. 1 and which engages in a recess 7a of the housing 7.
  • the upper part 7 only has the task of covering the control curve 2f of the guide part 2 in such a way that neither in the driving position nor during the triggering process there is a gap which would allow the ingress of snow or dirt to the control curve 2f.
  • the ski binding also has a sole plate 8 which can be pivoted about a vertical axis, not shown in the drawing, which is located approximately in the extension of the lower leg of the skier. At the end of the sole plate 8 adjacent to the ski end there is a heel holder which is not the subject of the present invention.
  • the sole plate 8 is guided in the groove 2c of the guide part 2 by means of at least one attachment 8a arranged at the front end. In the area adjoining the extension 8a, it carries a transverse axis 9 on which a front jaw with its housing-like lower part 10 is pivotably mounted. At a distance from the transverse axis 9, the lower part 10 is connected to the sole plate 8 via a toggle mechanism.
  • This consists of two pairs of toggle levers 11 and 12 which are arranged at a distance from the vertical plane of symmetry and which are articulated to one another by an axis 13.
  • the axis 13 forms the knee joint.
  • One toggle lever 12 of each pair is articulated on the lower part 10 and the other toggle lever 11 on the sole plate 8 or on a bearing block attached to it.
  • a control element 14 designed as an angle lever is also pivotably mounted in the vertical longitudinal center plane, one lever arm of which rests on the control curve 2f under the influence of a spring 19 via a roller 15, whereas the other lever arm in the travel position axis 13 of the toggle lever mechanism secures against pivoting.
  • the spring 19 is a leg spring which is mounted on the transverse axis 9.
  • the control curve 2f, on which the roller 15 lies, has a central section 2f ', which runs parallel to the upper side of the ski, and two adjoining branches 2f "(FIG. 3) which divide upwards.
  • its lower part 10 is provided on the upper side with bearing eyes 10a, in which an axle 16 is mounted.
  • the position of the sole holder 17 is set by an adjusting screw 18 which passes through an elongated hole in the sole holder and is screwed into a threaded bore in the lower part 10 of the toe piece.
  • the ski binding In the driving position, the ski binding assumes the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, in which the roller 15 is located in the middle section 2f 'of the control curve 2f. If, however, the sole plate 8 is deflected laterally during travel, which exceeds the elastic range defined by the central section 2f of the control curve 2f, the roller 15 is raised by one of the two rising branches 2f 'of the control curve 2f. As a result, the angle lever 14 is pivoted clockwise, and the axis 13 is released.
  • the sole plate 8 is pivoted back by a spring system installed in the heel holder, not shown, and the remaining elements return to the starting position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
