Instead of this hole, there is provided a sunken nut into which is screwed a screw 22, the upper end of which can be provided with a hexagon socket, as indicated in 23, while its lower end 24 is provided with 'a projecting part, for example an annular rib, so as to be applied effectively against the wedge C2.
  • the squareness adjustment is carried out in the following manner using the aforementioned device, generally designated by R in FIGS. 1 and 3.
  • the shims C1 and C2 which have been fitted into the glazing groove 12 s' apply elastically against the bottom of this groove. This provides flexible maintenance of the glazing in position in the frame without involving glazing beads.
  • To adjust the squareness after mounting the glazing it suffices to turn the screw 22 in the nut 21 to exert a thrust on the wedge C2 and therefore on the glazing 1 until the latter takes the position correct in its housing.
  • This operation is carried out from the outside of the frame by engaging a screwdriver or a key in the hole 20 of the crosspiece.
  • Such a structure is quite different from known embodiments in which the connections between the glazing, the shims and the frame are rigid and do not allow any adaptation other than by a cali brage chocks.
  • the glazing groove 12 of the lower cross member 2 of the leaf frame comprises several mortises 6 (see in particular Figures 4 and 5 ) of water flow which preferably extend in a substantially evenly spaced fashion over approximately half the length of said glazing groove and which open onto the lower face of this lower cross member as is clearly shown in FIG. 5.
  • the mortises 6 are inclined from the groove 12 outwards.
